About Happy Noodles(吃面) 川菜

Happy Noodles is a family-run restaurant described as a true hidden gem, serving authentic Sichuan food. The food is consistently excellent, incredibly delicious, and quite tasty, with beautiful presentation and big, generous portions. Many dishes have a spicy kick, but there are also plenty of delicious non-spicy options. The menu features classic dishes like twice-cooked pork belly, Mapo Tofu, Mom's pork trotter soup, and Sichuan cured bacon, which they make themselves. The chef also introduces traditional dishes rarely seen outside Sichuan, such as 鸡豆花 ('Ji Dou Hua'). Specific praised items include the tender lobster, the best dumplings, northern dumplings, beef sandwich, chicken stir fry, diced rabbit, and red-oil dumplings and wontons. The Dan Dan noodle is excellent, with noodles that seem freshly made. Many are obsessed with their red chili oil, noting you can ask for it lighter or extra.

The service is caring, attentive, lovely, friendly, and home-like, with very friendly nice people. Customers are treated like royalty and welcomed with complimentary golden sweet peanuts and Sichuan-style pickles. The ambience is nice. The restaurant is on the far end on the corner and should not be confused with the one beside it. It is a place where the food is made with love and soul, leading customers to look forward to visiting again and again. It is a must-try.

Ordered takeout from Happy Noodles and was genuinely blown away by how authentic the food is. As a Chinese person, I'm usually pretty picky about Chinese food, and seeing the restaurant packed with Chinese patrons was already a good sign.

I ordered the Intestines Vermicelli, and it was outstanding—spicy, deeply umami, and incredibly generous with the protein. Every bite was packed with flavor.

What really stood out was the hospitality. The lady boss was exceptionally...read full review
