Visited for the first time on April 11 for the Wednesday/ Thursday night couples dinner deal. We had steamer clams for the shared app, blue and Caesar salads, and pork chops and top sirloin for our entrees. For drinks, we opted for thyme, lemon martinis and a couple glasses of red wine. The martini was stellar. Our server was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. From start to finish the service was impeccable. The clams were a delicious way to start the meal , accompanied by fresh, warm sourdough bread and infused butter. The salads were great w/ quality dressings; the blue cheese dressing was unctuous and I enjoyed every bite. The pork chop had great flavor and the top sirloin was tender and delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert, but the house made desserts looked so incredible that we will surely carve out time to visit soon just for coffee and dessert.I can’t wait to come back to Gardner’s.Parking: Shared gravel lot w/ an adjacent brewery. Street parking as well.

We had an outstanding experience dining at Gardener’s last night. Our food was excellent! We enjoyed everything we ordered, including the wine, and dessert was the home run! Service and ambiance were perfection. I accidentally made a reservation for the wrong date but they were accommodating and got our party of 4 in. We can’t wait to come back! A few noteworthy menu items: The halibut, clams, brussels, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh daily special salad, and all of the desserts!

Unfortunately this restaurants menu is locked behind the table reservation feature. Cannot fathom why people do this, but I'd love to see a menu without wasting a booking slot

My wife and I vacation all over the world and have eaten at hundreds of restaurants. It's not often when we go out to eat that we come across a meal where we say, “Wow!”, after every bite! Not just the entree, but the salad, and deserts as well...Wow! The outside isn't the prettiest building you have ever seen, but when you walk in to the building you instantly feel welcome. The service was exceptional and the ambience was excellent. This will now be put on our rotation of restaurants we love to eat at.

Steaks taste old, they were overcooked and overpriced. There was a half inch of juice saturating everything on my plate. Waitress was very offish .

The waitress was unfriendly. The expensive steaks we ordered had a very strange taste to them. The potatoes were ruined from being so mixed with the huge amount of juice on the plate from the steak. It was swimming in liquid. We eat at local steak restaurants regularly and have never experienced such bad food.

I hadn't been to Gardner's Restaurant since the late 1980s but we received a gift certificate. Everything was outstanding. We began our dinner with French onion soup, which was perfect. I had the scallops which were wonderful, and the crispy rice gave it such delightful texture. The desserts were amazing. Moreover, the service was flawless. When I needed to return my French 75 because the champagne was flat, the server brought another one in lightning speed. She was a phenomenal server. Thank you Gardner's! I plan to return again with more family members this year -- and not wait for another 35 years to do so!

Great place, very nice up scale ambiance and fantastic staff. Great salads for starters. Wife had a perfect piece of halibut. Shaved (or sliced) brussel sprouts were very good as was her blood orange martini. My rib eye steak was good, just not as good as I would've hoped for the price. That said, we will be back because the place is really good.

The menu is creative, but the chef will allow slight adjustments. The desserts are remarkable and varied. The house wines will not disappoint you nor will the cocktails. The wait staff are professional which is unusual for Olympia.

Let me start with the service. What's was great was we had a server, but we didn't have to wait for or depend on just her. Anytime there was something that needed the attention of the server, anyone passing by the table would help us out. We've all have had issues at other places with the bill, for instance. The server drops off the bill, you put in your credit card, and wait for a long period of time for that bill to be picked up. Here, the server dropped off the bill. I put in the credit card, and a hostess came by and picked it up. It was like that for anything we needed. the entire staff was the server. Ambience: It's a cozy establishment and well decorated. Freshly picked flowers were at each table. the lighting was low but not too dark to the point you need your phone flashlight to read the menu. There were beautiful curtains dividing the out table for more privacy. Finally, food: Everything from the starter to the desert was divine. We started with the Season burrata mozzarella. a light but well balanced, combination of mozzarella, toasted baguette, melt-in-your mouth garlic, balsamic, and micro greens. It'll tantalize your taste buds without filling you up. My wife also had the French Onion Soup which she enjoyed. The entrees were flavorful and the reason we'll go back again. I had the 12oz ribeye with blue cheese sauce and 4 prawns. the sauce was rich and the perfect accompaniment to the steak and shrimp. My wife had the fresh halibut. It was on the pricier side, but the food quality matched that price. I would absolutely recommend Gardner's.

A very nice Valentine experience. The crab cakes were great, as were the scallops. Scallops were the best we've ever had, just wonderful and a reminder of how scallops should be done. We chose potato as a side and it was a disappointment--a tasteless puree; Gardner's in the past has had a wonderful sort of chunky mashed potato. Dessert was creme brulee and outstanding. Nice little restaurant but it's a bit noisy--so many hard surfaces in this old building.
