ALEM RESTAURANT Reviews
Alem is excellent. Their service is above-and-beyond - and I truly appreciate that. I've been here twice now and our favorite is the "Alem Special" - it's varietous in flavor and generous in portions. I'd recommend Alem to anyone who wants to try out Ethiopian food.Their coffee is also unique and underrated. It's distinctly "true Ethiopian" and is not cut with other beans as a "blend". They brew you a fresh cup, made-to-order. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Great Hidden Find!Delicious homemade Ethiopian food at a great price! Under new management and run by two lovely sisters. We went there for lunch and shared an order of veggie Shiro Wat. One order was enough to feed the both of us, which made it a great value. The homemade injera is 100% Teff, which is delicious and naturally gluten free. As they are just getting established they are currently offering free coffee with meals at lunchtime.Absolutely worth a visit and another...read full review

This place is a hidden gem. From the outside you would never know, but inside they will make you feel like family. Maza, the chef, will come and sit with you and make you the best coffee in town... strong, gingery, and full of love. Then the food is just amazing. The meat and veggie combo is 30 dollars and it will fill two hungry men easily. We ,love to get a bite before movies at the Beacon Theatre.
