Nick's was a delightful stop on my Madison walkabout. Service at the bar was attentive and helpful, and my shrimp cocktail tangy and fresh. Drinks were solid as well. The bar seats could maybe use a refresh though. Vibes inside were definitely neighborhood focussed - felt like Nick's is a local favorite.
Made a reservation with Nick on the phone for 8 gals as part of a social club meet-up—he went above and beyond with a friendly demeanor to set us up in the private room. When a 9th person showed up (by my own error) the staff was more than accommodating. Nick also served us—seriously, what a nice owner! He and his staff took amazing care of us. Just went for lunch and the food was as close to homemade mom’s cooking as you can get. It’s a cape cod, upscale, vibe but we brought our 3 yr old and they were so sweet with him and even gave him a toy after he accidentally broke a glass. Amazing family vibe with amazing food.
