Taneda Reviews
It’s one of the best restaurants in the world
This was an amazing restaurant! Lots of dishes! Very good sushi and kaiseki dishes. Very good restaurant for those special occasions (anniversary or birthdays). Chef Taneda was very friendly as he makes the sushi dishes in front of you. All while the keiseki dishes come out in front of you.
I'll write about how I got my reservation but I am so glad I did because our dinner was so delicious!
Because it's the turn of the season we got lucky to have some new dishes.

Taneda offers an exceptional dining experience, featuring its renowned nigiri, kaiseki, and omakase menu items. Guests often feel transported back to Japan, appreciating the authentic sushi bar atmosphere and exceptional fish quality. Many describe it as arguably the best dining experience in Seattle, comparable to Michelin-rated restaurants worldwide. The intimate ambiance is perfect for dates or special occasions, and the attentive service meets the high expectations set by the quality of food.
While the menu is on the pricier side, the food, like the very generous serving of monk fish liver and the flavorful sous vide ikura, makes it well worth the visit. Customers have noted that the omakase experience is among the best, with a rotating menu that changes monthly based on seasonal offerings. However, it is important to note that Taneda no longer accommodates gluten-free requests, which may disappoint some. Reservations can be notoriously difficult to secure, often taking over a year for some guests. The restaurant opens its reservation system online at 11 am on the first Saturday of the month, and spots sell out quickly. Despite the challenges, many diners agree that Taneda remains a top choice for those seeking incredible sushi in Seattle.
