Taneda restaurant is overhyped. The food in general is very good and the service is certainly phenomenal. However, for the price ($350/person), you need to begin judging the restaurant at a higher standard. Certain courses missed the mark on flavor and creativity. Having tried several other top tier omakase places around Seattle and the rest of the country, I didn’t leave Taneda with any memorable impressions. This was hands down the best nigiri and kaiseki I've had, even compared to the high end sushi restaurants in Japan it's that good.Dining here feels like I was back in Japan eating sushi at the sushi bars, the table, layout, and size are all the same.
