Me being from Karnataka , me and my wife were looking forward to this place a lot at the ballard market but it was a disappointment .The masala chow chow bath and the kesari bath are delicious and reasonably priced .But the dosas are over priced and average tasting at the best specially when you have other sit down places in the area , cheaper and tastier dosas. The onion chilly dosa was below average and i believe the most expensive dosa they serve which literally has some oily chillies and onions in the dosa and nothing else.No sambhars served either. The only saving grace is the chow chow baths.I understand they need to run the operations at the farmers market and thus have premium prices but back it up with better dosas then. Not going to visit this place again and would prefer going to a sit down dosa place instead.Do not recommend!!

Growing up in Bangalore, the birthplace of authentic Dose(not Dosa), I was longing for good dose until I came across The Bangalore Kitchen. I don’t mind waiting in line, driving on a Sunday to a busy market, daring cold weather, etc to taste the authentic Dose served truly in Bangalore style. The huge line every weekend is a testimony for the authenticity in the taste. Will go there again and again just to eat the Dose. Please don’t change the menu, especially the Benne Masale ?

A $15 (small) dosa without sambar, that you have to wait for 20 minutes in the cold and obviously no service - sounds like a scam lol.I think you’re paying for the “cool” factor of being in the Ballard Sunday market which I get is fun, but I would not return. The non Indians or Indians who don’t cook a lot will pay because it’s a convenient option but you can easily drive to Kathakali or MTR and get a significantly better dosa with sambar and amazing service for same or less price. Save your money for all the other treats at the market!Lastly, I’d mention are dosas are average at best. Butter dosa was decent but the pudi masala dosa had a tinge of sweetness to it which was weird.

The Bangalore Kitchen at Ballard Farmer's Market is my dosa dreamland! Only on Sundays, this pop-up kitchen rolls out the most authentic Bangalore dosas, so real you'd think you're in a darshini! It's like a dosa festival with varieties that'll make your taste buds dance. Imagine a dosa so good, it could be your best Sunday buddy! It's the superhero of South Indian breakfasts, saving you from the same old cereal routine. Don't miss out, or you'll be as sad as a samosa without filling! My 2 cents to the owners; sell the batter to customers and offer rice free healthy alternatives!

Food was very good. The dosa’s are very small, you’ll have to eat 2 be filling and $30+ per person is too expensive.

Fantastic dosas and other south Indian snacks in a lively location (Ballard Sunday market). The chow chow bath was excellent too. Great place to stop by on a Seattle outing.

This is a hidden south Indian gem that most Seattleites don't know exists right among them. And as a pop up station at the Sunday Ballard Market too. For those who know about traditional Bangalore dosas (Vidyarthi Bhavan, MTR etc) this place will be a welcome revelation, especially given the grim South Indian restaurant scene in the Seattle area. We savored their Benne (butter) masala dosa as well as their Pudi (spiced powder) dosa. And we sampled their chow-chow bhath (a mix of spiced Khara bhath and sweet Kesar bhath) too.The butter content is just apt - flavorful but not crazily indulgent. The fermentation of the batter is just right and the lingering taste is mwaah!Alas, they're only open on Sundays at the Ballard market, but maybe that's ok - good food *should* be hard to track down and a delight to discover. Enjoy, folks!

Great authentic dosas ! Good take that it's present in a farmers / Sunday market . The long lines make me proud when locals are checking in as well! Slightly on the expensive side but worth it !

One of the few places where the food lives up to the high ratings.I maybe biased because I’m originally from Bangalore, but this place in my opinion has one of the best masala dosa’s in the US. The taste and flavor took me back and genuinely felt like I was eating food from back home. It’s a stall in the Ballard farmers market. They get crowded (rightfully so) and have long lines. The servers were super friendly even amidst the chaos. Bonus, they will speak to you in Kannada as well to get that extra bit of nostalgia.100% will return.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian / gluten free options.Kid-friendliness: Stall in a farmers market, lots of places around to keep kids entertained.

The dose was up to the expectations, but expensive even for Seattle standards. The Sagu was good as well. The chutney and rava idli were really sub-par. I've eaten better frozen chutney. You won't get sambar, which is definitely disappointing. But, hey, you don't have lot of Bangalore dose options here, do you?The folks who run it are nice though and service was fast.
