Great place, amazing atmosphere and one of the best Sushi places in Seattle!
Nice corner spot with open air setting indoors. It's two restaurants under one roof. The ordering system was a little confusing with a tablet menu and a server taking your order. The sushi rice was a bit tough for my experience. All in all would go back.
Gokan has “reopened” at its original address however it’s just a ghost kitchen in Seoul Mates. The old Gokan is gone RIP forever.
Before the flood that closed Gokan, it was my go-to sushi restaurant. I get the same thing every time, 2 spicy salmon rolls with spicy mayo on top. Tonight I placed an order to go from the ghost kitchen. While the staff was friendly and food was prepared quickly, the food wasn’t the same. Gokan Sushi & Katsu is a mid-tier sushi restaurant with a solid menu, offering options such as the Salmon Lover and Double the Fun sushi rolls, as well as edamame, gyoza, and Shotime for drinks. While the food quality is good, the restaurant hasn't yet found its unique "soul" or character. Some customers have found the rolls to be heavily sauced and high in fat, leading to a heavier and less satisfying dining experience. However, with more skilled ordering, Gokan Sushi & Katsu has the potential to provide a very good dining experience.
