“Quintessential Bar and Grill in the Heart of Tangletown. Flip Flop and Crocs kind of place. Don't expect to sip a fancy cocktail while enjoying hors d'overs. “It’s the bees knees and a local diver bar haunt of Seattle. When there’s games or shows in the area (Climate Pledge) it can get slammed busy, but usually you’ll find a steady stream of guests and always the local regulars! “Bait Shop is everyone's favorite N Capitol Hill bar/eatery. The seats are comfortable, there are often dog patrons to pet, the food is top notch (chubby friends love the wings). It totally lacks pretension without sacrificing a sophistication unique to just a few local watering holes; like a dive bar without being a dive bar. I attribute the positive atmosphere to the hands-on owners who greet regulars like old friends while multitasking, making tasty and quality cocktails (always impressed by a garnish.) Even when it's super busy, I never feel stressed out by the occupancy number. Huzzah.“

“The Waterwheel Lounge is such a special place, it was one of the first places I've fallen in love with in Seattle WA. This "Cheers-like" bar has karaoke Thursday - Saturday 9:30pm to 1:30am and Sunday 7:30pm to 12:30am. Such a great spot to meet locals and sing your heart out.“

“Stopped in with a friend to play some pinball on Wednesday 8/23/23. Pinball map was pretty accurate regarding pins on location, and the games we played were in good condition, spaced out well, and most had cupholders or tables close by. There were the requisite 40"-50" TVs playing sports set up around the bar, but they were not the center of attention - this isn't a sports bar. There were 4-5 pool tables, and all were busy by the time we left for the Ice Box around 9 PM. Stiff well drinks, a decent selection of beer, etc., and decent prices for the area. I like the square wooden-framed ~25'x25' area around the bar, away from the pinball and pool - it was kind of cozy and they had a corner with a mic set up for...music or karaoke or stand-up, or something else I guess. New owners revamped this place in late 2021 or early 2022, and they kept the dive bar atmosphere, but really cleaned the place up. No yucky smells, and I didn't feel like I had to wash my hands after I left. I know that's not a high bar, but I what I mean was that it was a pleasant and unpretentious place to hang out. Didn't try any food - maybe next time. Sorry, no pictures this time!“

“A great place for food, drinks, and pinball! To start, the staff are very friendly and quick getting your order. The ambiance is retro but has a chill vibe to it. For the food, there is a variety of options and the smash burger was absolutely fantastic packed with flavor. Also had chicken salad and the mozzarella sticks, both fantastic. Lastly, don't forget to play some pinball as they have some awesome machines to play on.“

“The boxcar is a decent neighborhood dive bar that is convenient and consistently filled with customers. They have karaoke, but I forget which nights. They will let u bring your dog as long as u sit outside and they have a covered back patio section where u can watch football and get a bit of fresh air in rain or shine. The chili here is really good and I've also tried a chicken sandwich and the French dip. Food is really good value for the price, which is very important to me. Nothing worse than paying a ton of money and leaving hungry and dissatisfied. That won't happen to you at the Boxcar. Stop by and check em out if you're ever in my neighborhood.“

“I had the pleasure of going here last night with my neighbors. We hadn’t found our local watering hole since moving here about a year ago. Well, last night we fixed that problem!The Reservoir is probably the coolest neighborhood bar around. When you walk in, you walk into a huge room with pool tables, a tall wood bar, good music, and friendly staff.We got our drinks and headed out back to the patio area. There was a grassy area, a shed with a very large tv in it, a covered smoking area and picnic tables under a separate covered area.We met the owner who was such a nice lady. We learned that they’d just reopened after a series of setbacks that took 5 months to fix! She was very proud of being able to take care of her employees during that time and I really admired that about her. You could really tell how deeply she loves her bar that’s been in her family since 1991.Haven’t gone into the Reservoir? CHANGE THAT AND GO!!! You’re gonna have a blast.“

Their "house" bourbon is Evan Williams, not some cut-rate cheap-ass whiskey, so that gets my biz any day! “The Trophy Room is a perfect secluded venue for hosting groups, with a fun bowling game in the corner! Drinks were very affordable and strong, and the Shorty's dog and nachos were both fresh and flavorful. Morgan was the most attentive and awesome bartender!“

“Typical Seattle dive bar and I mean that quite fondly. Drinks are strong and cheap, service friendly and there's usually a dog or two to pet. They have a super cool back room and a seating alcove with an abominable monster who roars and flashes his eyes every so often. They get packed on the weekends so I usually avoid but if you can do during the day or on a week night it'll be well worth the visit.“

“It was a busy game night, men's basketball, UW vs Gonzaga. The beer line moved fairly quickly, the food took a bit longer than normal, but once received tasted great. The staff did their best to keep up & provide updates when needed. If you're a bit tight on money, keep in mind you can still get an $8 pitcher here from the "Husky tap". It's the champagne of beers, Miller High Life!“

“Harvey's is your typical neighborhood bar. The drinks are good, but what distinguishes this establishment are the bartenders. “This place had all the markings of a typical dive bar. There were plenty of TVs to watch sports and a couple of pool tables. The interior was dimly lit with more tables and seating in the back. It was a neighborhood bar with a lot of locals and frequent barflys.Their website said that their happy hour is from 4-7pm but when we arrived at 6pm the bartender said it was actually 4-6pm. She told us though that "it's not happy hour but our stuff is cheap anyway" which was a funny exchange and gave us a chuckle. She was right though because wells were $5 and the Moscow mule was $8 (although it was just okay).We played pool, watched some TV, and just hung out. It was a cool vibe.“

“So, I found myself at a local bar, the Zoo on a Tuesday night, my first impressions were so wrong! The bartender Dylan greeted me on a obviously busy night, saying he’ll be right with me, and he was. I was served and wandered towards the pool tables, I was told it was league night, so I watched for a minute. I was immediately drawn to a guy shooting pool with one arm, not that he didn’t have another arm, so I thought he was showing off maybe. I spoke with him after, he introduced himself as “Boston” and I said “ahh you’re from California?” We were friends from that point! He shot one handed and he said because that’s how he plays best, and I have to say I may have never seen a better pool player since I have been in Seattle 25 years. He provides a great part of the atmosphere, as well as Dylan, and the other locals, who live on Eastlake Ave E like me! I've seen Boston and Dylan, and some of the others around and we always B.S and I am so glad I decided to go to The Zoo, or I would have missed out on some cool, neighborhood friends. Don’t think you can beat Boston, or a couple others in a game of pool, I did, and never touched the table, straight run first game, I removed my quarters after that, and left the pool to Boston and the crew! “Went here as recommended by the front desk receptionist at our hotel which was 5 minutes away, and we are glad we took her suggestion. The cafe's location was great, walking distance and near a lot of neat places on 5th ave, the meal portions were huge, the food tasted great, and its got a cool vibe. We went during happy hour-- I ordered from the happy hour menu but my hubby and daughter ordered from the dinner menu, and I'd have to say, the happy hour options were an even better deal. They have something for everyone in the menu.“

“The food is what late night Chinese should taste like and the service is thoughtful though when it's crowded late at night for karaoke, you need to flag the server down. The bartenders are great. The ambience is exactly what it should be for a dive karaoke bar -- complete with neon lights, and a raucous and supportive crowd. The KJ is great and singing starts at nine. There is some serious talent and amazing stage names like Maximus Hubris. A couple sang a song by evanescence and just brought the house down. This is the kind of place you go with friends and it brings everybody's best ambitions out. They use a QR code for the songs. There is free parking in the lot.“

“The best dice bar in Kirkland. Beer, cocktails, and usually something on special. The staff is great and always friendly. Pool tables and two electronic dart boards. The place is a go too for a relaxed beer and watch a game. It gets busier at night, but always a good spot to drop in for a beer on a Saturday afternoon.“
