“Came here for a quick bite the other day, and we were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the mozzarella sticks and a burger with sweet potato fries, while my husband had a burger with regular fries. Everything was really good, and we didn’t have to wait long at all, even though the place was busy.

The young lady working at the front was so sweet, friendly, and attentive. Great food, great service, and a nice overall experience. We’ll definitely be back!“

“These are the best Phillies I have ever had in Tacoma Washington, great flavor; original was amazing and the mushroom Philly was my favorite. Burgers were also tasty but I recommend the Phillies are what is worth it here, fries are hella good too, onion rings were way overcooked so please fix that or maybe use more fresh oil because those onion rings were hard and crunchy.“

“Well, it’s Friday night in Tacoma, which is about the time the week lets go of your collar and you realize you’ve survived another five days of God's green earth. The sun is setting over the Sound; the parking lot is filling up with folks who’ve decided that cooking supper is an optional hobby for another day.

I was sitting there at a high-top table with three of my coworkers—good people, salt of the earth, the kind of folks who know how to work hard and aren’t afraid to talk about it over a beer. We had ourselves a perch where we could swivel our heads just enough to keep one eye on the NFL game and the other on the Seattle Mariners, hoping against hope that tonight’s the night things finally break our way.

Now, some folks from out of town might look at a chain restaurant and think it’s all mass-produced and predictable, like a box of saltines from the bottom of the pantry. But those folks haven’t met Kamie.

Kamie was our waitress, and let me tell you, she is the sort of person who could walk into a church basement during an argument over the annual bazaar and leave everyone feeling like they’d just won a blue ribbon for their winter squash. She has that cheerful, unflappable grace you only find in people who possess bottomless patience and have spent a good long while dealing with the public. She carried our orders with the easy poise of a choir director stepping up to the piano, and she didn't bat an eye when four of us showed up looking for a good meal and a beverage after a long week on the docks.

I ordered the riblet meal—tender little morsels of pork bathed in sweet and spicey barbecue sauce that’s sweet with just enough heat to remind you you’re alive—alongside a cold, frosty draft of beer that had beads of condensation running down the glass like a cold morning on open water. The food was good, solid, honest nourishment that didn't put on airs.

But the service? Well, the service was, as they say, WOW! Kamie brought the plates out with a smile that could melt the frost off a windshield, kept our glasses from going empty while we hashed out the events of the work week, and made you feel like you were the only table in the whole place, even though the room was humming right along with the weekend crowd.

It was a fine Friday night in Tacoma, good company, good food, and a reminder that grace can show up just about anywhere—even under the amber glow of an Applebee's neon sign. Five stars, without a doubt.“

“5 guys already has an excellent way of showing that they are one of the kings at making burgers with their amazing way of preparing fries and using fresh ingredients. They never fail at great customer service and its so enjoyable to walk in any burger joint and always hear patties sizzling fresh. Their prices are definitely worth the flavor, specialy the burger size! Cajun fries always make the car smell amazing, I only wish they sold an air freshener for my car with that smell. “Finally gave this place a try. Glad we did. We’ve spent a lot of time in Scotland where they do Haddock and chips very well. So I was much amazed to see Haddock and Chips on their menu. Not Cod or wildly expensive Halibut, but Haddock. And it was excellent. Beautifully done, chips were perfect and tartar sauce was great. Nice space and friendly atmosphere. They have never messed up an order, the food is always fresh, and using the app makes everything quick and easy. “The beer selection is second to none in the area. The breakfast sandwiches are so good I cannot stop thinking about them. I had the egg salad sandwich with arugula and a delicious wasabi sauce that paired so well with a delicious Pilsner from Melvin brewing. I also had the walk of shame sandwich and the cheese and chives were the perfect combination and exactly what you are looking for in a breakfast sandwich. The buns they use here are of noticeable quality hold up well to the hearty sandwiches. The staff here is also very friendly and makes you feel like a regular even if you are 300 miles from home.“
