“Uniontown General Store is an amazing little destination, serving Pizza Grinders Stromboli, and hot dogs, people are flipping over the BLT. I like the Pizza because it is delicious and very consistent day to day, week to week. Preston and Jackie are super friendly and professional, they will usually remember your name when you come back. “The wait staff were VERY friendly and attentive, keeping my coffee cup brimming. The only thing that kept the entire rating from being a solid 5 stars was the chicken fried steak. While it was good, the seasoning seemed a little off from the traditional flavor that I prefer. I say this being a lifelong aficionado of chicken fried steaks. I'd eat there again in a heartbeat, however, but likely have something else from the menu.“

“Holy Smokes! WOW! Hands down the best meal we have ever had tonight. We were up on a quick trip and wanted to go out on a nice date since we had no kids. Chef Robert 👏 👏 👏 👏 the Focaccia Halibut was absolutely perfection in my mouth. Juicy and flavorful and just the right portion. My husband had the Surf & Turf New York and shrimp. The sauce was like heaven. We also had the Mushroom Fondue. I could drink it by the cup. Huckleberry margaritas were very generously poured and absolutely spot on. Finished the night with the Cheesecake covered in fresh pureed peach and fresh garden picked Raspberries. I will drive 6 hours anytime just to eat here again. Our Waitress was one of his sons girlfriends and was so on top of it. Thank you all so much for a wonderful dining experience. We will be back.“

“My daughter wanted this place for her birthday which is an unusual choice for us usually but she has went here quite a few times with her grandma. I have to say, I was surprised, prices were cheap, they have a room in the back with pool and darts which was fun, service was amazing and fast and then to top it off, one of the best burgers I have ever tried. Definitely did not disappoint. We had family come who had never been there also and they were impressed as well. Over all, great experience. Thank you Effie’s.“

“First, I want to say that on Saturday Oct 19, 2024, it was extremely busy with customers. It was apparently homecoming night so it was difficult to get a table as a walk in. Also, my party had 11 people in it, again, no reservations. Shame on us, but we heard it was a great place for a group dinner.

Our group was a family reunion mix of out-of-towners and locals.

When we first arrived we were told it was a 45 minute wait. Yikes. With the group coming in from a long day of driving around the area, we didn't know if we would wait that long. We tried to grab seats in the bar, but that wasn't going to work.

The three at the front and many others were EXTREMELY helpful. After about 10 mins we were told 30 mins, then suddenly 20, then almost immediately, we were sitting down. We probably waited a total of 20 minutes. Given the circumstances, amazing!

Logan and Hilary (and another young woman with red hair whose name I didn't get unfortunately) were so understanding to get our group (ages 23 to 84) seated. Kudos to the staff overall, but to these three specifically for going above and beyond.

The service was great, food was very good (cobb chicken salad and the seafood pasta with cream sauce in particular were very tasty), and we all walked out with big smiles...as you can see.“

“We had my dads birthday party at The Hayes House tonight. We had a larger party. The food was excellent, came out quick and was hot. Our waitress Katrina was top notch, she was kind, attentive and present. We had people in our group who had not been here before they were all impressed. We will continue to come back!!!“

“I went to Applebees to try their version of chilis 3 for me deal. I got a $10 burger with fries and a drink. That was a great deal. The burger was great, but they left the tomatoes on the burger when I requested to leave them off. But the burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were fantastic. Absolutely worth the $10 deal. The staff was very friendly while I was waiting for my food“

Ohhhhhh the food…….. it was timely, and may I say HEAVENLY, beautifully cooked steak, burgers and fried onion rings/ fries!!!!!!!!!! Skate runs a great place here. Will be back again and again.
