“Perfect quaint spot for espresso served in a delightful non-plastic real ceramic cup, a splash of cider or Italian wine, & the most amazing Parisian like strawberry flaky pastry that I have had since I was in Europe. What a great good-vibe Little Cup treat- excellent pastry chef too!“

“This is the loveliest little place that despite its delicious menu and incredible cocktails still feels kind of unknown. Even friends that have lived in WSea for years haven’t heard of its existence. Even though I’d like to keep it that way, I’d much rather have it succeed and never go away.
Also, got to meet one of the owners tonight, super nice guy with very kind friends. The bathroom even has VIP club-style amenities like toothpicks, mints and lotion. We ❤️ Locöl.“

“I wanted to really love Marina Mercantile. Made a Mother's Day Tea reservation. Our initial arrival was not welcoming and I was asked twice if I had a reservation. My mom, my daughter, and I waited an hour for our tray of treats. We were last to be served. People that arrived after us were served before us. We are the only minorities in the shop. It felt racist sadly or their service was extremely slow. The food was ok not the freshest tasting for a special Mother's Day event. Prepaid $200 with fixed gratitude and service charge. 🫤“
“This place is like a french oasis in a business park! What a find. I wasn't familiar with their story or offerings, but my husband's bell had gone off and we needed food, so we popped in here for anything. What we thought would be a quick bite, turned into a lovely early afternoon getting to know the story of this wine shop from a very accomplished and lovely person. Don't let the business park setting fool you, once you walk into Princess & Bear, you are in the south of France.“

“Always great food we go there often for date night😋🤫“
“Cute atmosphere but the real star is their selection. There are not many places that focus on champagne and sparkling wines but they really know their stuff and mix it up. I love the Sodo area in general but this place has worked it's way in the favorites rotation.“
“If you are in the mood for elegant, vintage drinks with a whimsical (truly whimsical) twist - look no further - thus is your stop, for a sip - or two, or... We had the Chai Old Fashioned and the Last Word... If the devil is in the details - so are the companions of Bacchus - the REAL maraschino cherry in the Last Word and the massive ice cube in the Old Fashioned confirm how serious thus place is about its drinks reputation. Also, the Cherry and Apricot Salad gave us that so very needed connection with the local farmers' produce, it being a delightfully crispy concoction of bitter radicchio and peppery greens, smoothed by a pungent goat cheese and vanilla balsamic vinaigrette. The bread and the sharp olive oil were especially appreciated with the salad. We love gelato, but ordered the blackberry sorbet and did not regret it since it came with a solid chunk of anise biscotti - an excellent pairing for the double espresso. Our waiter, Troy, made us feel well attended, but not even once did he overdo it.“

“The upstairs area is nice and cozy, great for reading or work. My experience here was decent, no complaints but nothing to write home about either. We got there over an hour before closing and they had no pastries left, not sure if that’s the norm or we were just late. It’s also on a quieter strip in west seattle so not very walkable if that’s something you’re looking for.“

“The best Italian food in Seattle. The focaccia is probably the best bread I’ve ever had. The heirloom tomato and nectarine marinara is a revelation. I can’t wait to go back.“

“I don't normally like baklava but this one was Moist and had lots of flavor.
The eggplant was wow. That's a hard veggie to cook in my opinion. The mixed entree was very yummy. The lamb was super soft. I would go back when on town“

“Loved my Barista, I believe her name was…Aaralyn? She was fantastic, she helped me through the menu, offered me options and then made one of the tastiest Chai Lattes I have had. Loved the music, it was a bit repetitive.
Fast simple service, and a clean environment! Will definitely recommend.“

“What an incredibly unique dining experience! The Derby and The Shop offers something you won’t find anywhere else in Seattle - the chance to dine surrounded by classic cars in their storage area. We hosted a private party here and were blown away by both the atmosphere and the food.
The venue is perfect for special events. The car storage setting creates an unexpectedly cool and fun backdrop that had our guests talking all night. It’s industrial yet welcoming, making for great conversation starters and photo opportunities.
The food definitely lived up to the unique setting. The appetizers during our cocktail hour were excellent quality and well-presented. For dinner, the chicken and waffles were absolutely outstanding - perfectly crispy chicken with fluffy waffles that hit all the right notes. The bulgogi lettuce wraps were another standout, offering fresh, flavorful Korean-inspired bites with tender, well-seasoned meat.
Service was attentive throughout our event, and the staff handled our private party seamlessly. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience that combines great food with an automotive twist, The Derby and The Shop delivers. Highly recommended for anyone wanting something different from the typical Seattle restaurant scene.“

“The menu here is just awesome. I think I’ve tried everything and everything is very good, clearly made with care by people who actually eat the food they make. they like big flavors here. The chicken teriyaki is barbecued just the side of blackened with a powerfully flavorful sauce. The sauce has the familiar comforting teriyaki combo of salty sweet and tangy but leans less on the sugar and more on the ginger and slightly more complex flavors. But it’s still definitely teriyaki. The tofu teriyaki is awesome, a crispy fried medium firm slab on top of perfectly cooked rice. Get the deluxe! Mac salad? Yum. Crispy eggroll for texture. Satisfying.
Don’t skip the deluxe fries with kewpie mayo, furikake, and chili crisp my dude.
So teriyaki is associated with being cheap, and this is not really that kind of teriyaki. However, I will say that relative to other dining options on the island, the vibe is great and social, the food is excellent, and to be honest you’re not going to eat out for cheaper on the island pretty much anywhere unless you go to the Thriftway deli (not knocking the Thriftway deli, I love me some chicken strips).
Oh yeah and it’s also a craft beer and craft soda and wine store, I think that’s probably the main point of the place? But obviously you can get amazing selections of beer and wine.
And then right next door is the delightful Vashon Creamery for dessert!“
