This was easily the best meal we had in Door County. We live in Chicago and consider ourselves spoiled with restaurants there but if Chives was in Chicago we would go back. The beef cheek bourguignon was a stand out for us. The waiter, John, was also excellent.
Our experience at chives was enjoyable. I tried the Scotland salmon special and it was by far the best salmon I have ever had. All of the ingredients were high quality and the homemade sauce made the dish. The staff were welcoming and personable. We liked that the restaurant is open all year round!

The food was absolutely wonderful except dessert. Fabulous tenderloin steak and chicken marsala. We would order these again and again. But, when your waiter says "the all too often overlooked dessert", there is likely a reason. We were served a very dry "Slice of Paradise Cake" which was Keylime Pie, Coconut Sponge Cake & Passion Fruit.
