Wonderful atmosphere. Delightful drinks and ambience with approachable staff. Chill vibes in art deco. My favorite bar/lounge in Bayfield by a mile.

We stumbled upon this gem while strolling around Bayfield during an August trip to the Apostle Islands. The menu posted in the window was very helpful, as it listed several gluten free options (Bates had not shown up in our search for GF restaurants). The cocktails were fantastic, and the unique offerings of food were a delight! Bates Art Bar is a great find with attentive staff and a relaxing atmosphere. The food and drinks are well prepared and presented. The martini and bread board are notable options. With a fun history and great service, it's a wonderful experience and a fun date night location. The owner is knowledgeable and passionate about atmosphere and quality, making it a highlight of any trip to Bayfield.
