“My husband and I stopped here for dinner based on great reviews we’d read, and the food still far outpaced our expectations! I’ve never had a hummus exploding with as many flavors as theirs. We started with the black bean hummus (served warm) and veggies, then hangover salad, wagyu beef street tacos and margherita pizza. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the ingredients tasted super fresh — no mean feat up north in November — with layers of flavors and textures. The interior is cozy but not crowded. The bonus here is that their prices are so reasonable. We’ve paid more for meals that we’ve enjoyed far less. We live in the Chicago suburbs but will make the trip up here for dinner again, I guarantee. My husband was possibly more impressed than I was, and that’s hard to do when it comes to food“

“We hosted our Wedding Welcome Cocktail Hour at the Geneva Taphouse and are so happy that we did! This place is a great place to host at because it's a beautiful building with great lighting and fun atmosphere. The small bites were delicious and our guests loved the large selection beers and seltzers on tap. There happened to be live music that night, which was a great touch. The managers Taylor and Jesse were so friendly and easy to work with to make this night happen. They checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy and taken care of. We would 100% recommend them for your party space needs!“

“We started off with a half dozen oysters of a half shell and half dozen oysters Rockefeller. We got a bottle of sparkling water for dinner, my wife had the salmon blackened with asparagus and a side of the garlic mashed potatoes. I had the tomahawk cut steak with grilled cherry tomatoes along with the side of asparagus and garlic, mashed potatoes. I ordered the Tomahawk steak, medium rare, and it was spot on perfection I also had a Stella Artois beer with dinner. our waiter Daniel was excellent and was always there if we needed anything the meals were exceptional, definitely a five star restaurant with five star service. They also have great parking valet parking. And a great atmosphere with great views.“

“Started off dinner with thebucatiui carbonara which is guanicale pasta with fresh pecorino cheese and pepper in a fettucinni pecorino cheese sauce. my wife hadthe Baramundi which is Australian sea bass with the pistachio couscous with peas and crispy enoki mushrooms, and a lemon sauce. She said it was delicious and I had the.limbo do verbose which is venison in a raspberry sauce with sweet pea risotto that was fantastic. She finished dessert with a tiramisu and I had a black coffee with black Sambuca dinner fantastic and our server Tanya took very good care of us.“

“A couple of their bartenders are great. A couple are not. And it seems the best bartenders don't last long here. The last one we had was snooty and not friendly. Wings are really good. Atmosphere is nice, but if your service sucks... You don't enjoy it as much.“

“Privato hosted our 50-person wedding on 9/9/23 and we could not have asked for a better experience. Sara was so kind, helpful, and flexible during our planning process. On the day of our wedding, the staff were so sweet and did such a great job. I believe Alyssa was managing that evening and she did an excellent job and was so accommodating. We had guests tell us it felt like our wedding was being hosted at a friend’s house rather than a venue, and we agree. It felt so personal and special thanks to Sara and the staff. We also had guests tell us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! It was delicious and accurate to our guest orders. Also, the tiramisu was absolutely amazing! They were also able to accommodate a few tricky allergies our guests had, which we really appreciate. The space just felt so comfortable and Sara was so wonderful moving everything for us according to our discussed plan. Sara and the whole staff really made our day feel so special and relaxed, we cannot thank them enough!“

They made the whole process extremely easy and enjoyable. This is the second bridal shower our family has thrown at Olive Black. All of our guests comment on how much fun it is there.
