I worked at Connie's Cafe (now Willaby's) 58 years ago. Returned with my son and future DIL today and it was wonderful! Crazy busy at 11:00. Fun, friendly staff (Chess is very attentive) and great food!! Everything is from scratch so expect a bit of a wait but the experience is worth it!
My go-to for breakfast in Madison. If I'm feeling hungry it's an order of vegan french toast and a plate of hashbrowns. A rare gem of a true "greasy spoon" where you can sit at the breakfast counter and get a mug of coffee and some tasty vegan food.
Consider adding vegan pancakes/waffles and plant-based meat substitutes!
?☕ I almost didn't walk over her from WYSO. Now I always will. Willalby's Cafe hit on every piston. The coffee is unexpectedly great, because I expected a humble diner joint - but this is barista level. It was so good with soy milk and they have almond, too. The service was awesome, fast and so friendly. I got the vegan French toast with all the fruit they had, and the veggie sausage was homemade, hot, meaty, and frigging delicious ?.
