“First time at this cafe. It has only been open for 4 months. The atmosphere was nice & new & clean. Food was excellent. I had the crispy chicken bacon wrap and my husband had a burger & fries. They use pretzel buns & the fries were cooked to perfection. Service was average but the gal running it was very personable. I noticed the pies were selling very quickly. The waitress even gave us a beautiful thank you note. Will definitely go again.”

“Ditto to all the comments about what fantastic customer service. This might be the sweetest, kindest restaurant I’ve ever been too. Hands down have the chili and fry bread. Everything tastes like it was made with love. Two frequent customers came in at different times while we were dining, both were given hugs by owner before leaving with their to go orders. “Sand Creek is an awesome brewery in Black River Falls. While it has been brewing since the 1990s...they took over a brewery that dates back to the 1800s. It is a throw back laid back atmosphere with friendly staff.Their beer is really good. Their Brown ale, Bock, red, stout, old English, are all right upy alley. They have a Porter, golden ale, lager, IPA, a Hefe, as well as a lemon beer and a lime beer. They also brew their own root beer.There is a lot to look at around this place. They are not licensed to sell food but they have pretzels if you need to take the edge off. Don't let that stop you, the beer is worth the stop.”

“I have never written a review for anything, ever! But this place deserves a top review! My husband and I came upon this place by happenstance and we are so glad we did! From the get go we were greeted and treated! Then to top it off, there was a winter storm warning and our little car couldn't make it up the hill, and with in minutes there were two trucks out to help us. I can not say strongly enough how much we appreciated the kindness that was shown to us! We are from Minnesota, but we are feeling the Wisconsin Nice!! ❤️”

“Having lived in the southwest for about 10 years I was pretty skeptical about a Mexican restaurant in the middle of Wisconsin, but this place is legit. The food is flavorful and it’s authentic Mexican food. Even though the indoor dining area is small and it look like a takeout place, it rivals some of my favorites in the southwest. Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: Refried beans are vegan. Lots of vegan meal options.Dietary restrictions: There are a lot of side options available so you can customize your meal. Very accommodating.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible with ramps indoors.”

“I had an Avalon vanilla chai, eggwich panini, and Blueberry almond oats. Everything was amazing, but the Avalon is by far the best cup of coffee ive ever had.Guest service was 11/10 from Andrea & Carey, they recommended some other spots for hiking and dinner in the area for me to checkout during my stay. They could not have been friendlier.”

“We were only there for the breakfast, but really wished that we weren't too sleepy to have spent some time in the bar the night before. Such a nice looking, inviting, and clean space. If you stay at this place, save some time to visit the orange moose!”

“We were staying in millston to ride the trails. Walked down to this place before calling it a night. What a treat. We were the only non locals there when the 8 of us walked in. The entire bar acknowledged us and some of them even changed seats so we could all sit at the bar together. They were genuinely a fun group of people and had some hilarious conversations with some of them. Will definitely be back every night we're in town next year”

“A+ service for going above and beyond accommodating our very large group for dinner. We brought in a school group of 13 teenagers and 5 adults and cannot say enough about how great the staff were and how good the pizza was! We called ahead and were able to place our order in advance so they food was piping hot and delicious when we walked through the door. All the adults expressed how we will definitely be planning future visits! Kudos and thanks for making it a great visit!”
