This place has probably the best mexican food in Menomonie. Big margaritas and even bigger burritos!But despite some clear struggles with low staffing, our waitress made up for it with some excellent service.If you're like me, you might have thought that Menomonie's only mexican options were Cancun, Burrito California, and Taco Bell. It took me a year to find out about this place (if you don't know about it you likely will never pass by it), but I am so glad I did.
They're short staffed, and I understand, we were not in a hurry. But, there were only a couple of tables, and the waitress didn't come around real often. When she was at our table, she was very nice. Chips were slightly stale. We had a small group, and our food came out one plate at a time (though very hot and fresh!)- my rice & beans came out, then 5 minutes later my chicken fajitas, 5 min later my tortillas. Disappointment. I drive a semi truck. I purposely parked at the truck stop near the Mexican restaurant so I could walk over and try their food since I had my birthday recently but had not had my birthday celebration. I ordered to go and walked over there in the cold. I ordered camerones al mojo de ajo like I do at many Mexican restaurants. It literally means shrimp in garlic sauce.
