“The place is a little dark but don’t be scared the staff and patrons are friendly. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and people were rolling in with their side by sides to have a late lunch. Great broasted chicken and burgers made fresh. Fries were delicious- we will certainly be back.“

“Food is great!! Burgers are the best we've ever had. I like what they've done with my grandfather's old cafe (Shafer's). Service could be better. It can be super calm, barely any people and the servers just stand around, talk to coworkers, don't check up on us. Last night our server didn't even check on us. She was there to take our orders and then give us the receipt at the end. She decided to chat with the bartender after we asked for boxes and were ready to pay. And again, didn't even check on us at all even though they weren't busy. But the amazing food keeps us coming back. It's pricey, about $50 for two people to get burgers and one appetizer, but it's delicious. Kudos to the chef.“

“Really cool spot in Taylors Falls very close to the river with plenty of seating. Great burgers, homemade root beer and more. Mini golf attached which is great for something to do with kids or a hot date ☺️“

“The burgers are smash burger style. There was a line of customers when we went right as they opened. I had a burger with jalapeños but I didn't think it had much of a kick, even with the sauce and pepper jack cheese. It wasn't bad, but I would have liked more heat. The fries were good. My teenagers would like it but this is a lunch restaurant and the hours don't really work for us. With their hours, only Saturdays during the school year would be an option plus none of us work in SCF so the adults aren't in town during the week at lunchtime. They are open seasonally which is understandable since this establishment does not have indoor seating. I do look forward to trying the other burgers here if I get the opportunity. We have wanted to go before but they have either been closed or the limited hours meant we couldn't go for an evening meal. It's a nice lunch option.“

“Awesome little place to stop for food! We wanted to eat on the patio, but it was technically closed. The bartender Hannah told us we could order inside and she'd happily take our food out to us so we could enjoy the patio. It started raining, so we did end up inside, but we totally appreciated the extra step she was willing to take.

When we came in, we not only had amazing service, but the banter in the bar made the whole experience. And the food was SPECTACULAR! We even got a little song from some of the patrons for our anniversary!

Wonderful little place with a welcoming small town feel and excellent food! We plan on going again tomorrow night for the live music on the patio!

Edit to poat: Went back for breakfast the next day, and ended up going for the live music. Hannah was back again and provided a wonderful night, remembered who we were and asked all about how our stay In Balsam Lake was going. Cannot say enough good things!
