“The first time, won't be my last! Soup and sandwich special on Friday was on point and just what I was looking for. I didn't even get a chance to look over the menu that I have heard so much about. The soup was fantastic, and although i wish the sandwich had one more piece of fish on it, it was very good also. Looking forward to my next visit.“
“We had an extraordinary visit last Sunday! We had terrible customer service at two other nearby restaurants before coming to Pub35 and received excellent service from Angela. My wife has food sensitivity and Angela was happy to check ingredients for us. She chatted with us and was so kind after we accidentally spilled the container holding the drink garnishes over the bar edge. The food was outstanding! We hadn't been here since before new owners had taken over and we'll definitely be back!“
“Every time I go into this place, great hospitality, amazing food, different specials all the time. This time I tried the turkey melt with creamy mushroom soup and it was simply amazing! Highly recommend the food! Owners are great people and the bartender is the best in town!“

The owner Suzie, bartender John and cook chopper were super friendly and fun to talk to and even though it’s a small place kinda out in the middle of nowhere I will gladly return again. “Overalls okay place to go I enjoyed the bar and the lake a friend of mine and his grandfather with it for a while went over there for the 4th of July lot of friendly faces are boats they had a beach they got an island is called party island we know we turn up good for all ages of course she was located right by the Beach right next to the boat dock I also have people that go out and fill up the d boats with gas and have lots of sitting outside“
“Stopped in from out of town. The Barred Owl is a very cool place with a great ambiance. The staff was nice and cordial, made me feel welcomed. They had two chefs doing a "pop-up" food service that evening as well. It was impressive. I highly recommend this establishment.“
“After reading other reviews of the Crystal tavern the wife and I decided to give it a shot. It's true that you get free drinks if you're gambling! They have a few 4 seat tables and possibly the most comfortable bar stools I've ever sat on. The only thing that I didn't like about our experience was that our Jack and Cokes were extremely weak, like 1/2 of an ounce and served in a disposable cup. I guess that's why the majority of the people there were drinking cans/bottles of beer.Pull tabs + free drinks= fun! That is if you win. Worth a stop though.“
“This bar was awesome. Small town atmosphere, great food, affordable!!! We hung out and played pool upstairs after we were done. Our bartender/waitress was awesome and checked on us repeatedly. Get the sweet potato fries with the cinnamon dip!!!! Highly recommend this place.“
“St. Croix tavern is your standard Wisconsin bar. They have a full bar, darts, pull tabs, and pool. What more could you want? The owner and bartender is a nice guy and this place has live music pretty frequently. Prices are standard for a bar in the area. It's a clean place with few frills. Just good drinks and good conversations.“
“So I heard this place was a great place to visit and so we were determined to give it a shot. My girlfriend and I got on the motorcycle and rode up to Balsam Lake which was about an hour and some change away from our home. When we arrived we were greeted by a taller lady whose name I forgot. Anyway, we ordered chips and dip, it was good and then the cook brought out some picked dip for us to try and it was delicious. Tiffany came over to help us, she was very kind, and helpful and seemed to get along well with the locals. The locals seemed okay I didn't have any issues, good food, wonderful service, motorcycle parking, and just a great vibe, thanks Tiffany!!“
“Hadn't been there in at least 10 years and it looks like it's been spruced up since then! Fish was deep, deep fried...a bit too done for my liking. Fries were great! Soup was a hit and the salads looked amazing! Will definitely try one the next time I go!“
“Great little bar! Stopped there with a lady friend of mine for some pizza, pizza fries and some beer. Met the owner, he was friendly and had his dog with him! We talked a bit and ended up bring our dogs out of the car for him to meet. Great place with good people I would recommend it!“
“I'm from Los Angeles, so these small town gems are always a treat, and a hoot. Beautiful tavern decor,, good food, the bartender can pour a Guinness. And cooks the bar food! That was a first for this city kid. If you haven't, come visit“
“Was a really fun New Years eve that I attended 5 J's. If you're looking for a low key and cheap bar to have some drinks this place is it. Only problem was no mask enforcement or social distancing but I dunno how you're supposed to enforce that in a crowded bar.“
“Fantastic dive bar! Fun local crowd playing pool and cribbage. Holly the bartender provided great drinks, delicious food and sparkling conversation. I love a bar with clever, funny signs and pictures in the wall, and this one delivers. Gentleman, beware the girly picture in the bathroom!“
