Everything we ever had at Benjy's was terrific. Jewish delicatessens in the Midwest are far superior to any and every deli outside of that section of the country. Quantity, New York's M.O. does not beat quality. The corned beef is more flavorful, the bread, unseeded rye, is outstanding with soft body and a crunchy crust, and the rest of the fare is equally outstanding. While Chicago is but 90 miles away, it's unnecessary to leave Milwaukee for deli food.
Reliable favorite in the neighborhood. Don't expect any atmosphere but the food is solid. Recommend the tunafish sandwich. Burgers are great and hopple popple. Just ask for the salami to be well done. Perfection.

I've eaten at these types of delis in Chicago and New York. For the price, their pastrami sandwich was "sad." It was supposed to be served hot, not cold!, and really very skimpy on the portion, and the pickle tasted like it came right from the can.I will never eat there again, sorry Benji, it was experience I am trying to forget.
