Had an incredible scone from Poppy Bakery! Great atmosphere, enjoyed meeting the owner, and highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a sweet or savory baked good option in Milwaukee😊
Happened upon Poppy Bakery at the Waukesha Farmers Market today. Easily the best scone I’ve had, white chocolate and pistachio. Also got a bacon brioche bun. These items are clearly baked with skill and care. Will return for a cinnamon roll in the future.

Poppy Bakery offers a lovely bakery selection with a fun selection of baked goods. The bakery smells amazing inside, and staff work diligently to fulfill orders. Benches are available to enjoy pastries on site. The coffee cake is a favorite, and everything shines in its own way. The baked goods range from croissants to cookies to brownies, and the kouign amann is SO GOOD. The banana bread is simply heavenly, and the cinnamon roll has a good balance of cinnamon, frosting, and sweetness—not overly sweet or dry. The miso cookie is good as well. Coffee drinks are offered with beans from a local roaster. Croissants are flakey and perfectly layered, cookies have perfect texture and balance of sweetness, and the savory croissant feels like an entire pasta dish in croissant form. The brownie is perfectly textured and deeply chocolaty. Expect a line on the weekend, but it is worth it. On a Thursday, there is no line and full stock. The display of goodies will draw customers in, so this is not a diet stop.
