“This bar reminds me of home, and the experience here is very unique. That is, the bar accommodates for the fire house next door. It's a community - where firefighters chill outside and casually converse with the bar crowds. Music plays loud enough on the patio that the entire street corner can be entertained, and there is always an open invitation to be a part of it all! One of the best experiences at this bar is when the fire truck departs for another alarm, the entire community is there to support and cheer the firefighters aboard. It's quite the event! Hosed On Brady is a blue collar joint with a massive stake in the community. That is, the bar is always a part of any community event or festivals, the bar offers meat raffles, and the bar supports the community. The staff is great and has one of the best bartenders [Ruby] on Brady Street! I definitely got hosed on Brady!“

“The Stone might be the friendliest bar in Milwaukee. Before I settled my butt into a seat at the bar, someone welcomed me with a hello and a welcome. Soon, more of the customers ambled up to me to talk about a myriad of subjects. This was an eclectic crowd, and obviously, all were welcome. These days, I'm invariably the oldest cat in the joint, but no one at the Stone seemed to notice. Neither did my dark glasses or fedora cause people at The Stone to keep their distance. That was very cool because how I dress is often construed as pretentious in the down-to-earth confines of Milwaukee. However, the regulars at The Stone let my personality and discourse speak rather than my appearance. That meant a lot to me. I left The Stone knowing I always had a welcoming tavern to go to. What a wonderful feeling. The Stone is a special place. BTW, the drinks were fine, and the prices were good.“

“Although I have never closed Wolski’s, I have stopped in for drinks and darts and was not disappointed! However my favorite experience at Wolski’s actually happened without ever leaving my car. I drive rideshare and was picking up there. As I pulled up, I immediately noticed the bouncer arguing with some drunk college-aged guy who was clearly being denied admission. As all his friends walked past him and handed off their ID’s, the bouncer kept dealing with his mouth, but stayed calm and just kept repeating “go home”. But Kevin thought his turtleneck and sweater combo granted him access anywhere so he tried to slip past. He made it through the first door before the bouncer body slammed him and the door slowly shut behind them. The need to know what was going on behind that door overwhelmed me and I considered getting out of my car. But my thoughts were interrupted when the door swung open and the bouncer threw Kevin out like Uncle Phil did Jazzy Jeff. The best part - the bouncer looked to be in the 50+ age category. At that point, he gave up on trying to get through the bouncer, so he moved on to trying to scale the fence. When I tell you I about died when I saw his pathetic attempts to get over it, I mean he wouldn’t have stood a chance sober with a step stool. He eventually gave up on the fence and walked around to find another way in. I wanted to follow, to see what feeble attempt he would make next, but then my riders came. Just when I thought the story couldn’t get any better, they started talking about a douchebag whose friends all left him. I told them about the guy getting body slammed and they asked if he was wearing a turtleneck. I found out one of my riders was his ex-girlfriend so I of course told the story in full. My one question to her was “does he have a weird relationship with his mom?” And they all burst out laughing. Apparently he does. Shoutout to the bouncer!“

Our friends and family raved about the food and planning everything (including drink tickets, menu, and dealing with a year long postponement during a pandemic) was easy with their event coordinator. Today, I finally had the chance to step into Jerseys Pub and Grill for my first official Fish Fry Lunch of Lent 2025! It's located at 4024 S Howell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207, and let me tell you – I’ve passed by this place countless times, but today, I finally got to experience it! What a hidden gem it turned out to be!
It all started when I met the owner, who just so happens to have a son at the same elementary school as my own. That’s when I discovered their Friday Fish Fry – a perfect addition to my Fish Fry Bucket List.
Now, let's dive into the mouthwatering menu options they offer on Fridays:
* Cod Fish Fry: Freshly cut lemon wedge, slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries, potato wedges, or tater tots, all for $13.
* Fish Sandwich: Served with your choice of potato for $10.
* Shrimp Tacos: A flavorful delight for $9.50.
* Fish Tacos: Tasty and satisfying for $9.50.
* Shrimp Basket: Perfect for seafood lovers at $11.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner’s warm and friendly demeanor – she made me feel right at home. Her impeccable service really set the tone for the whole experience.
As for the food – WOW! I was served three generously-sized pieces of cod, perfectly battered with just the right amount of crispiness, yet not oily at all (huge win!). I went with the potato wedges, and they were on point – golden brown, crispy on the outside, and warm & fluffy on the inside. The slaw wasn’t the creamy type I usually prefer, but it had a delightful, crisp flavor that paired perfectly with everything else.
All in all, this was a fantastic Fish Fry Lunch that I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving something new! Another Milwaukee gem to add to your list.“

If you are in the area, it is worth dropping in. They also have TouchTunes if you are familiar with the app, so you can pick the music that is played while you are there. There is limited parking, but there is street parking nearby as well.“

You go up to a window to order food and are given a pager. This worked out great because everyone could eat whatever they wanted to. The food was delicious!!! All of it!! They also had vending machines with fun stuff in them and pull tabs so that kept everyone busy for a while. I’d definitely return and can’t wait to try more off the menu! Nothing fancy, but the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it's one of the best I've ever had (and I consider myself a bit of a burger snob lol). The service staff were attentive and friendly. I visited 3 times and consistently had a great experience. At first glance, this place just looks like a standard hotel restaurant, but don't judge the book by the cover! Check this place out. “I had the pleasure of bringing 45 people into On Tap with my tour company, Fun Beer Tours Milwaukee, for a luncheon buffet. From the moment we walked in, everything was A+. Glasses of ice water and drink menus awaited us at each table. The GM was on hand and ensured that everything ran smoothly. The bartender/server immediately took drink orders and returned quickly with an array of tasty beverages. The kitchen staff had the buffet line all perfectly set out, even with little placards to identify each item in their respective serving trays. When one participant asked for a special gluten free option, the kitchen promptly replied with an offering that made her happy. As I walked from table to table to check in on things, the consensus that I heard over and over was that the food was "terrific" (full disclosure - the 'house chips' were described as "phenomenal"). Everything was top notch - the service, the timing aspect, and the food. I highly recommend for regular dining but also for large group outings such as mine as well.“

She was always quick and willing to top off our drinks, she even made some homemade lemonade for one of the guys. She was also amazing at engaging with us and keeping the energy high.
