“I went into this Starbucks just a bit ago. The three ladies working (Esme, Brianna, and Rachel) noticed I only had quarters to pay with and covered the price of my drink. This was a hard morning for me as I had to quit drinking coffee due to health issues and I had to switch to tea. Esme never rushed me in making a decision on what drink to order. In fact, she took her time to give me a sample to make sure I ordered something I liked. This review isn't about Starbucks. It's about the employees at this location. At least the ones I ran into this morning.“
“Back when I was in school I would come here almost daily through the drive through. They always got my order right and were very quick. I particularly like the white guy with arm tattoos and the Mexican lady and man (never got their names) they were always very nice.“
“They get very busy around the eating hours. So it's difficult to call ahead for an order to go. If you call when their not busy, they will take your call and you can order ahead of time. Remember they put Zippy sauce on the chicken sandwich. I ask for no sauce, It can get a little sloppy. Awesome sandwich though!“
“The best bakery in town, hands down!! Always an ample selection, sweet and savory options abound. We got our wedding desserts here years ago. When we showed up for the tasting they had a dozen different desserts of varying prices points laid out. From cookies to mini pies and Bundt cakes, we were in hog heaven. We decided on Maple bacon cupcakes, cherry pie, and a whiskey Bundt cake like you've never seen. I can't say enough good about Batch.“
“I loved this unique coffee shop. What a great idea to have coffee and a board shop in the same place! The coffee was also very delicious. I recommend the maple latte- one of my favorites. Staff was very friendly and asked if we had any questions, etc. The shop had a chill vibe, this will definitely be our go-to coffee shop stop when we’re driving through Madison!“
“I recently started going to Mercie’s because of their great lattes and top notch service. I just left Mercie’s moments ago and needed to express my gratitude. I unfortunately dropped my latte as I was exiting the store. I went back in and without hesitation they made me another latte and were more concerned that I was ok, ensuring I didn’t slip or fall in the parking lot. Wow….thank you for being such great humans. -Mike“
“The best all-around. Food is always awesome. I love the pork and cheese pupusas. Espresso drinks are sometimes scalded, but that's really the only complaint I have. Great prices too.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu. Used to have pancakes but they must have taken them off the menu. Not great for a picky eater.“
“I took my grandson for dinner last night and it was fabulous. We did the restaurant week offer and it was so good. The crab ragoon was the best I ever had, the soup dumplings were amazing and the dessert buns at the end with egg custard filling were so good. Will definitely be going back and enjoy other things on the menu also.Kid-friendliness: My grandson loved the décor and had to walk around and look at all the cool things they had on display and also absolutely loved the food.“
“Nice atmosphere, music not too loud and nice & moody. Small though. High chairs look out at street, communal tables in the middle. Staff are young mostly male, americano coffee was good and not too hot served in a glass cup - not a paper cup . Didn’t look like a big assortment of pastries but they look fresh. great savory crepe - braised beef. Also an affagato pictured here. Very fast nice place“
“I go to many coffee shops in my line of work and this one has been the best by far. Service was great, kind but not over baring. For food I ordered a pesto grilled cheese and a salted maple latte. Both were delicious, (cheese could have been melted more but thats really just a preference) and the coffee was perfect drinking temp. It was nice to not have to wait 10-15 minutes to drink it like at some places. I even went back and ordered a salted caramel cookie which was incredible. (better than Crumble). I literally never write reviews but after having such bad service at other places and now having such perfect service, I felt compelled to write one. Definitely will be back!“
“Frequently go there for coffee and a scone or donut. Staff is very friendly and knows the names of many of their customers. There is lots of seating, and there are always people plugged in with their laptops working. It is a very nice atmosphere for a quick take out coffee or to sit quietly and read. I have not been there at night, but they have a large selection of craft beer and specialty brews.“
“Friendly, comfortable, and welcoming. Came on a Sunday for lunch. I was able to find parking on the street and come right in. I ordered the firefly wrap, the special shamrock shake, and a couple pastries for later. The wrap was brought to the table and was stuffed with tons of chicken and avocado. It seemed hearty enough that it could be split between two people if desired. Great flavor. Love that there is plenty of space and seating even on a weekend at lunch. This was my first time here and I hope to be back soon!“
“I love Reverie, I am so happy they opened up down the street. Customer service is phenomenal, espresso is delicious and the bread is AMAZING.I do a weekly subscription to the homemade sourdough bread and it is the best thing ever. $7.50 for a loaf of some of the best bread I have ever had is so worth it! Highly recommend!“
“very cute coffee shop & brunch place! there are a few different areas to sit - but finding seating can be tricky if it’s busy. room 1 has great lighting and plants, while room 2 has a great view of the lake! the basement has games and a cozier vibe. coffee and service are excellent :)“
“I’ve been to Michelangelo’s more times than I can count to be honest. Time and time again I love it.Finally writing a review because I decided to have the black bean burger and after one bite I realized I’ve never given this place the 5 stars it deserves. I’ve always felt comfortable here. It’s like a nice little recluse for me and seems to always have the most wonderful atmosphere.Consistently delicious food AND drinks. It seems to attract good people and has kind staff as well.Today I’m also having the espresso miel w/ oat milk. Not only does it smell amazing, it also tastes great.I never do take out from here. Always dine in! The atmosphere and art are a part of it.I cannot rave enough over how much I love this place. It will forever hold a special place in my heart :)Vegetarian options: Plenty of options and substitutes.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options!“
“North Street is an actual gem. What's more to want with coffee, pastry, and beer all under one roof. Well - I do wish that Bloom offered more options similar to their Monroe street location. And I wish the coffee and pastry was open later into the evenings so I could have a pastry with my beer. But other than that the place is perfection! There's plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating in the warmer months. Parking may seem daunting but honestly there's always plenty of street parking not too far.“
“This place deserves its high rating! My favorite coffee drink is an unusual custom request, and it was executed perfectly and without question by the barista. The Sunday breakfast sandwich is eye opening - humble ingredients, elevated with perfect execution to bring out a dimensionality of flavor I didn't consider possible. Even the drip coffee is divine!“
“I love this coffee shop so much! I love the art that’s always changing and their drinks are some of my favorite. Everything has intention from the way the baked goods are packaged, to where the coffee and tea come from, and the art that they decorate the shop with. I would recommend anyone to come here. It’s also the best place to study at. The tea and coffee are very affordable :)Dietary restrictions: All vegan!“
“It's a nice and simple cafe. The place had a good vibe. One should order in the front counter and take a seat. Food will be delivered to you. I went during noon for lunch. The place was not too busy. I went for a full Paul's palmeni and it was delicious as always. Without customization it came 50/50 potato and beef and had works on it. That was nice. Chipotle chicken sandwich was flavorful as well. Raspberry truffle mocha was a good drink to try. I tried a cranberry orange bread from the display, which was good as well.“
“I’ve been to the university location, but I have to say I prefer this location better. It’s stroller friendly! And I’ve come here with my little one before.Anyway, the food, pastries are always delicious at Ancora.Their matcha honey latte is delicious.I’ve had their Hella Stella Sandwich obviously! I’ve also had the eggs Benedict and they’re SO good“
“This MOKA makes the best road warrior and they are consistent. They always showcase a positive attitude and are quick with the orders.Vegetarian options: They have a really good veggie breakfast burrito for on the go. Get it with the Chalula sauce“
“I really love this place for the cozy community atmosphere and I come here often. Generally I’m really happy with the quality of food for the price. However, recently I got a panini for $11 and felt it was over priced considering there was only one slice of meet and 2 tomato slices in the panini with a side of chips.“
“If you’re ever in need of a late night Friday Night Fish Fry, the Squirrel’s Nest will not disappoint! My husband, mom, and I are visiting my grandma in Madison and needed to show my husband a real Wisconsin experience. We walked in at 8 PM and sat right down and ordered fried wall eye and hash browns with cheese and onions, also served with a dinner roll and cole slaw. They all had a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet to drink of course. Everything tasted AMAZING and was exactly what we would’ve hoped for. We will definitely be back!“
“Cafe Latte with frothy milk art on top. It was and is a great drink. The food, the drinks, and the people who work there are great. Many compliments and no complaints. Maybe more poetry recitals during the future.Parking: Sometimes not so much parking available very close to Beans N Cream but public parking lot is close to The Cannery Square.Kid-friendliness: The play area is small but the business is not very physically large. It is nice to have a play area there. Maybe more plugins for people to use the free wifi there.“
“My favorite coffee shop in Madison! I have a severe gluten allergy and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable, and made me a breakfast sandwich with a gluten free bagel in the oven instead of the panini press to avoid cross contamination. The coffee is incredible and if you can manage to get a table, the environment is awesome.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bagels/breakfast sandwiches“
“The coolest bubble tea shop in this area! The vibes/furniture are more traditional tea shop but there are multiple outlets at most seats and the menu is very creative with combination of traditional teas and interesting flavors. For-here drinks are served in glass mugs which is very eco-friendly. There's a sizeable collection of books and board games and lots of natural lighting. There's also a small food menu and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable.“
“This is a go to weekly spot for me. Tacos are always fresh and delicious. The house margaritas hit the spot every time. Very simple but warm dining room and the outdoor dining by the train tracks is great on a summer day. The best secret is their coffee beans. Grab a bag while you are in there! You won't regret it!“
“I’ve been to this location twice now. I love the decor, the lighting etc. it does get busy! So it can be hard to find seating. So come early! Now on to the food..I’ve had the Hella Stella sandwich with sweet potato fries. She’s a messy sandwich but she’s so worth it!That sandwich is insanely good. WowI’ve also had a hot latte there, and they don’t skimp on the size!Highly recommend coming here for breakfast or brunch!“
“We live in the Westmorland neighborhood on the near west side of Madison We have been EVP patrons for two decades. The founder and owner Tracy Danner developed and delivers the experience! Richest, full bodied coffee in town. On top of that, a cool, community based vibe that is second to none. In a society that is increasingly disconnected with ordering by phone apps and being served in a drive up with someone donning a headset, EVP delivers with a personal, caring touch.Brian Tennant“
“Absolutely love this coffee and the atmosphere in this place. I would highly recommend this place for the most delicious coffee in Madison and potentially on my top 5 in the nation (I travel for work). It's so very cute and clean inside the shop. Most all of the workers are very friendly too! The breakfast bagel sandwich is also to die for. I do miss their full meal menu, but the pastries are delicious when I need a pick-me-up. I'm a regular visitor and come in at least twice a week as well as consuming their coffee at home! However, the downfall is their loyalty program... after 10 stamps (separate visit purchase trips) I only get $2 off??????? It's quite ridiculous for the amount of money I spend there that makes myself and others reconsider going there when on a budget. I would love for them to at least make it $5 or a free coffee. $2 will not even buy a regular coffee nowadays.Beyond that Wonderstate is amazing and I highly recommend you check them out“
“The coffee here is the BOMB!! Fresh roasted and so freaking good! If you want to get quality coffee by the pound for a deal (make that steal!) this is the place to go. Whole bean, but they will grind it fresh for you. My husband takes this by the pound to his office as everyone there has deemed this the best coffee. Fabulous espresso for our home machine too. Seriously - you have to try the coffee from here - sooooo good! There are pastries, some are GF, some light sandwiches, egg sandwiches or a breakfast burrito too.“
“Cafe domestique serves some of the best espresso in town. Both the Northstreet location and the original have great cafe drinks— my go to is the iced vanilla latte! Space in this cafe is a little tight, so if you’re looking to hunker down and get some work done for a few hours this probably isn’t the right place, but i do love a quick stay to read a chapter or two of a book in their bright and airy space!“
“I have always loved going to Ledger. They make very good espresso and coffee. This morning I went in, and my mug was accidentally broken in the process of my drink being made, and they were so sweet to give me a replacement mug while I was there. The staff always goes above and beyond and I really appreciate it! They also sell Level 5 donuts which are sooo delicious and vegan!“
“Really delicious food and being vegetarian they have great options to choose from. There food is affordable and really like the space they have. Its easy take out or eat in even with smaller children or a group of friends. The owner is great and so is the staff!“
“Pretty chill vibe. Got a café au lait with oat milk, nothing groundbreaking but was pretty good. Sat by the fireplace reading for over an hour, place has a good atmosphere. Pastries looked a bit dry so I didn't get any, but the sandwiches looked pretty good. Id come back if I'm in the area.“
“Happy to see this new location thriving! Coffee is good with variety of options available but not too many it becomes overwhelming - lots of options for tea drinkers as well! The food is amazing - highly recommend the Java Club as it was one of the best sandwiches i've had in a while - and in a market with ever increasing prices this place feels very fairly priced for what you get. Coupled with the fun atmosphere and art on the walls highly recommend checking this place out.Note that parking can be difficult - if busy times of the day parking across the street is much easier than hoping you can find a spot in the tiny parking lot“
“I order pick-up orders from here all the time, and it's great. Get their app and order from there. It saves a ton of time even if you just order it 5-10 mins before you get to the cafe and you can rack up loyalty points for free stuff. My favs are the sugar river bowl with chicken (extra dressing is a must or the lettuce on the bottom stays quite dry) and the capital city breakfast sandwich (the sriracha-tomato spread is amazing and not super spicy).Their espresso isn't my favorite ever but it's good enough that I have ordered plenty of lattes from here :)“
“Nice little Asian themed tea shop with a variety of tea bases along with any combination you prefer. We got macha tea and gong fu, both were very tasty with the latter taking some skill to pour. The service here is awesome though, the waitresses will teach you the technique if you don't already know how. They also serve decent lunch, we got the beef noodle broth which was very rich and flavorful but lacking an authentic taste. We also got pork meat baos, they were more average with non-exciting flavors. The other downside are the small portion sizes.Overall great experience, would recommend for the tea and some food items since there's a paucity of Asian cuisines in Madison. Good ambience and service!“
“Stopped in for a latte. It was very good...rich coffee flavor, not overly bitter, with a smooth consistency. I generally skip syrups, but for those who like the added flavor, they use high quality 1883 Maison Routin syrups. I'll have to stop in again sometime to try the food. Everything looks good.“
“It was very busy on a Saturday. We ordered two coffee flights and someone took them. We got refunded for one because they didn't have cups to make the second one. My food buzzer went off and it wasn't my order. I felt like things didn't go as smoothly as it should have. Just letting people know where to pick up drinks and food would be nice. I was not aware to pick up my drink at the end.Five Stars though, the vibe is amazing, food was great, coffee was awesome, and staff was very friendly. The live music on Saturday made the experience extra special. The decor was beautiful and the fall decorations made it feel like a comfortable place. I will definitely be back!“
“This is a solid spot for coffee in town. I don’t visit often because it can be busy with college students and hard to find seating, but the coffee is good and it’s fun to get coffee and walk through campus or to the lake! Parking is available a few blocks away on garages or on the street, so be prepared to navigate that!“
“Absolutely wonderful stay. The Edgewater is beautiful and the staff very accommodating and respectful. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view.We also enjoyed walking to the beach and docks with the Grandkids. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!“
“Good News' lavender and honey ice cream was absolutely amazing! The unique flavor combination was a delightful surprise. The shop's cool ambiance added to the experience, and the friendly attendant offered great suggestions. With outdoor seating, it's a perfect post-dinner treat after dining in nearby restaurants. I didn't even have time to take a photo because it was so good! A must-try dessert spot!“
“Best Coffee in Sun Prairie. The Jamaica is the bomb!Tastes phenomenal and has just the right amount of caffeine to get me up without having jitters or caffeine withdrawal LOL.GREAT PLACE,the blueberry muffins are great "real" berries in the Muffins just Fantastic!Do not go next door to funky donuts, extremely disappointed there.I gladly make a point to MOKA in the AM you should too! You'll be happy guaranteed!Parking: Parking a little tight, but most everyone goes drive-thru.School bus drivers, this is our early stop.“
“Fair Trade is truly the quintessential Madison coffee shop, filled with interesting people (staff & patrons both), a view of State St and delicious coffee drinks - this place is a gem.So many downtown Madison locals make this their dedicated coffee shop because it just feels good to be there. The owners have put in so much work to cultivate a chill & welcoming yet bustling energy in the shop. Stop in to grab a speciality drink & people-watch over State Street in the front window for a good time :)“
“Super cool cafe that's open late in Robinia Courtyard. There's a really cool bar and lots of indoor plants. The coffee is really good and food is served 8 am to 3 pm. There's also a small collection of the New York Times crossword which was super cool. They also do a cash discount. Also I learned that the scientific name for black locust is Robinia pseudoacacia :D“
“It was our daughter’s bday and this is where she wanted to go. We were happy to oblige. We all had an awesome lunch and shared some yummyass donuts for dessert. Patrick, the owner, and The Victory staff are great. Small but mighty, as they say. I gave 3*’s for “atmosphere” because the furniture could use some TLC, although, to be fair, being open seven days a week doesn’t give a small business owner much chance to run around town getting the type of vintage stuff that makes The Victory what it is.Vegetarian options: Loved the vegetable panini with artichokes, pesto, and avocado on ciabatta.“
“I didn't order food, but there was a nice breakfast selection that included chorizo. I did order peppermint mocha. It was hot and creamy. The only bummer is it took at least 15min. Per drink to make????? Otherwise, the gals were friendly and inviting.“
“Staff are always so welcoming and helpful. Really good speciality coffee selection (they have homemade sugar-free syrups that are delicious!). It's a small place so it's not my favorite to sit around and lounge at, and the line can sometimes go out the door so be prepared to wait on busy mornings, but overall great spot!“
