This is about as good as a brew pub gets. Closest comparison is Deschutes Brewery in Portland Oregon. Excellent pub fare and remarkably good (i.e., great) beers. Don't expect fine dining, but pub food doesn't get much better than here. Outstanding service. We drive from Madison to trollville to enjoy ourselves here.
We did a day trip to Mr. Horeb just for something to do. We decided to eat lunch at The Grumpy Troll. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was good. We each ordered a burger. I chose the Grump Chips as my side and my wife ordered french fries. My burger was done just right, and the Grump Chips went well with the sauce that comes with those.
