“I am always telling people about Avenue! I love every drink I end up getting whether it is a latte, a refresher or a Matcha. I usually lean for the banana pudding Matcha and I love trying their different seasonal drinks that they come up with! They have added so many different food items to their menu, which I have also been loving! While this is a smaller neighborhood style coffee shop, they have so much to offer! Definitely come for the great food and drinks, but stay and hang out for the vibes!

“Food was good and service was ok. Asked waitress if Brussel Sprout Salad had cooked or raw Brussel sprouts. She said cooked, so we were thinking like the blackened Brussel sprouts, but nope, they were raw. Salad was not good, apples tasted spoiled. Very disappointing. Kid's menu cheese pizza was good. Shrimp was very oily in shrimp wrap. Southwest wrap won the prize for the best selection in our group.“

“This is some of the best custard you’ll ever have. I have found all their flavors that I’ve tried so far to be amazing. I would recommend getting a dish and not a cone because this custard melts very quickly and makes an annoying mess. Eating out of a simple dish fixes that problem. Highly recommend coming here!“

“Love this place. They have 18 of their beers on tap and 6 guests along with tap cocktails. None of their beers are american layers, they go all in on sours and malty beers. You either go light with the fruity or buried (with a smile on your face) under a barrel aged imp stout. Deep flavor. The pizza is more of a doughy flatbread than a true pizza IMO, still tasty. The crust could use a little more chew, but still good. Fun vibe with the music playing and the patio open. My only criticsm was only one server and while she was hustling and answering questions, one person can help one customer at a time.“

The vegetable curry was great with a rich flavor and well cooked veggies. The chicken katsu was crispy and juicy but lacked some flavour. The combination with the rice was very comforting.

Whether it’s wiffle ball, darts, or kicking back and enjoying a Beach Ball (my personal favorite Pineapple Milkshake IPA) no brewery comes close to offering the atmosphere of Broken Bat. But what really makes Broken Bat so special especially to the city of Milwaukee is they care about the people and the surrounding community. They aren’t here to just make another craft beer and take your dollar. If you’ve ever met the owner Tim you’ll understand what I’m saying. So… Whether you’re in the area or at a local store, grab a beer made by Broken Bat Brewing Company. You’re doing yourself a favor and supporting an establishment that deserves it. The salad underneath the burrata changes seasonally, and the apricot, honey, and truffle oil elevated it beyond expectation. I could have had another order of this for my entrée and been set. My chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Unpretentious but perfectly executed. The potatoes and broccolini came to life with the lemon caper sauce. My husband had the mac n’ cheese with short rib. The creamy mac and tender meat don’t compete in flavor — they’re in a loving, happy marriage. This is what restaurant BBQ mac should be. I’m not usually a crème brûlée person, or at least, I thought I wasn’t. I let my husband pick the dessert, and it did not disappoint. Perfectly creamy and flavorful. This is the experience you want when you decide you’re ordering a dessert. The service was top-notch. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were all delightful. Heirloom MKE delivered one of my favorite dinners to date.“
