“Great place, friendly people. Sunday night Bingo is a fun way to spend an evening. Food is reasonably priced & delicious (grilled brats, hot dogs, hamburgers).”
“Stopped into the Outpost in Presque Isle, WI for a drink close to our cabin. Got to meet ever so friendly Lorelle who talked about Northern Woods current events over the weekend. I would recommend this place to anybody. Some of the best bourbon selection I have seen… Chris”
“Best of old and new Wisconsin bar/pubs Incredible atmosphere…outstanding staff. Chyanne has it going!! Best bartender..OK …tie between Lauren and Chyanne!!! The place is clean, pure Northwoods I’ve been in bars around the world and this is as great an experience as I’ve ever had”
“Great atmosphere Heather the bartender was very welcoming very friendly always had a smile very accommodating very polite to every customer that walked in there made you feel very welcome excellent bartender we'll go back there again I wished I could have seen Beth she was from Shawano so were we we were there on a job hopefully next time we go she would be around... ?”
“Best hot chocolate ever! We came here several times during our trip and loved what we ordered each time. The baked goods are really delicious, but our favorites were the hot items. Had a special jalapeno grilled cheese which we all loved, and the various breakfast items were also tasty. It's a great place to buy souvenir items-- coffee beans, tea, and specialty candies. They also sell Wisconsin cheeses, meat sticks, and beers which everyone in our group tried and liked. Service was superb each day as well. They are building rental units next door and those will surely be a success if they're run with the same enthusiasm as the coffee shop.”
“great selection of beer styles. Very friendly and cozy place. Very knowledgeable owner/brewer. The beers were excellent. We can't wait to visit again next year.”
“I have had some of my best nights at this bar!!!!!! Great place to host parties. I am proud to say this bar is in my hometown. So many friendly people always!!!!!!”
“We stopped in after running the White Dear Triathlon. What a wonderful place!! Such a nice, homey, Irish pub atmosphere! I felt right at home! Definitely recommend, and will definitely be back!”
“Absolutely a wonderful place. Owner is the bomb. Works her tail off. Food is spectacular. The staff takes pride and is friendly. Hard to get in when busy but well worth your time.”
“I had an egg type breakfast with hash browns and other ingredients mixed together with the eggs. Kinda dry and not heavy on flavor. Service was fast and very friendly.Very nice atmosphere and decor but it was snowmobile season and the place was empty except for us. The bar/pizza joint down the street was jam packed with about a 30 minute wait to get in. That's just something that made me wonder.”
“We rented a large home here for a week a couple of years again and had our family Christmas. Beautiful home, clean, and great kitchens to cook your holiday family dinner!”
“Come here every 4th of July weekend and have a couple of breakfast drinks while on our morning ice run. Owners are always friendly with us and love stopping here each morning when we are vacationing.”
“Lovely salad bar. Very good Friday fish fry. Excellent service. The BEST part was the gentleman play the accoustic guitar and singing. PLEASE have him back EVERY week! We'd come back just to hear him serenade us!!!”
“stopped in on our way up to Ontonagon MI......if you need or want great local info on the surrounding area....this place is it!!!! cold icy drinks, clean, nice bartender and great locals....”
“Fun place to hang out for a while on the Manitowish Chain! Food and drinks are good. Great place to grab a bite to eat and a few refreshments. Always a good time at Greer's. You can also shop for Greer's gear.”
“Awesome place to eat and always something going on at the Pea Patch. Good live music, a beautiful park across the street, great food! I have never stayed here as we stay in Mercer every year for vacation but they have been very generous in helping our yearly party of 14-18 people eat!Try the Reuben Soup. It was amazingNearby activities: A very nice park across the street with Music in the Park during the summer.Walkability: A great view of the dam is right outside the bar and hotelFood & drinks: AWESOME food and great drinks! Good food every time we have been there.”
“The atmosphere was great, food was delicious and staff was exceptional! First time visiting and we will definitely make it our "must stop" places to eat when in the north woods.”
“What a neat place to stop in for a drink and take in all of the history this place has to offer. Beautiful decorated to match the historic aura of the time and staffed with friendly and attentive individuals who seem to really like their jobs. Everyone we spoke to raved about the food and I can say that my old fashion was fantastic. We only had drinks this visit.. but will definitely return to try the food that everyone seemed to be truly enjoying.”
“We came here after a long day and wanted quick service and good food. We got it! Service was rushed but still thorough. It seemed like one guy was serving the entire restaurant. He had a great attitude despite how busy he was (incidentally, he also works at Headwaters and was equally as friendly over there too). We all got some form of the special-- broasted chicken, broasted pork chop, grilled shrimp, and broasted Walleye. All the broasted meals were done perfectly. Crispy but not greasy, tender on the inside. The twice baked potatoes were done differently than I'd ever seen before. Scrumptious although a little overly buttery. The coleslaw was the best of the several meals throughout the trip that gave coleslaw as a side. Gooch's blew the others away. The meat portion of all meals was really well done and tasty. I'm not sure how they can afford to give such large portions at these prices, but I'll take it. Knocked a star for ambiance because I didn't enjoy the excessive taxidermy. I'm sure loads of people love it but it's not my jam.”
“We love this place. Got the Wednesday Nighy bluegill speciall and it came with a great bowl of cheesy French onion soup. No price was mentioned in the menu and we were a bit shocked to pay $23 for a fish fry. Guess that is our fault for not asking in advance.”
