“The Gooseblind is a great place to go for FRESH, homemade food to order! Yeah the wait can sometimes be a bummer… but that’s a cost I’m willing to take when I know my food is being made fresh to order!! Nothing here is “premade” & a lot of love & energy goes into the food. The burgers are delicious, apps are always great, pizzas are PHENOMENAL (fully made fresh- even homemade dough!!) & the sandwiches are always amazing! Come to the Goose for some amazing food! Obviously don’t be a douche & demand that your party of over 10 people be sat immediately when it’s super busy. That’s basic restaurant courtesy that a lot of people have seemed to have forgotten….“

“TL;DR: Generous portions and a decent house sauce, but the brisket and turkey were short on smoke.
Stopped at J's BBQ in Ripon on a Thursday morning, about 15 minutes after they opened. Ordered the two-meat plate with brisket and smoked turkey, with potato salad and mac and cheese for sides. $24.12.
It came out in a black basket lined with paper. Pretty generous portions for that early in the morning. I'd be curious to see if that holds through a weekend rush.
The brisket was a combo of lean and fatty cuts, both cut much thicker than BBQ standard. Texture was good. The smoke flavor was not there. The turkey was also cut thick and only had a faint smoke flavor.
There are four sauces to choose from, and sweet is the house sauce. The heat has a mild kick. I was not a huge fan of the white sauce. The cranberry was different, but not in a bad way. Sauce helped but wasn't necessary.
Potato salad had the texture down but was bland. Mac and cheese was good, but nothing signature there.
Finished up and headed out. Would I go back? Maybe.“
