I have been going there for more than 30 years - I've bartended, I've performed, and I've been a customer. I've been through 3 owners - Mel Locke, Annie and now Butchy and Stacy. I have never seen them anything but professional - Butchy is a great bartender and owner. he's always talking to customers and trying to help them fit in what ever niche they need. If you had a problem with the owner, you should probably look inward and see what you might have done to alienate the staff and how you can change your experience for a more positive one. Butchy is a phenomenal owner and bartender. I hope you can stop in and try the Naps again. They have shows on Saturdays and are very crowded. And the food is great. Hope you stop in again.“

Only once or twice were they overcooked and not good --to be fair, it was during later night in the last hour or so of the kitchen still being open. Other dinner food, such as their steak can be hit or miss. The bartenders are nice and welcoming. I feel like they are short-staffed often leading to delays in food cooked and being run out to the servers. Overall for drinks, laid back place to drink and watch sports, it's cool.“

“It was my hubby and I’s anniversary. A snowstorm came through. They called to confirm we still wanted our reservation and I told them we did unless they wanted to close early. That we could either come in early or cancel it because I didn’t want them to feel like they needed to stay open. They were staying opened! The bartender greeted us and wished us a Happy Anniversary. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and romantic but that also could be that it was just my hubby and I, the bartender and the waitress. Our waitress was super nice and also wished us happy anniversary. She checked in with us periodically and chit chatted a bit but also gave us our privacy which is hard to do in a quiet restaurant. It really felt like we rented the entire place out. The drinks were delicious. My hubby had barrel aged old bourbon old fashion and I had a the gimlet they advertised but with vodka. The food was phenomenal. I got the ribeye and my hubby got the French dip. We also got cheese curds and they’re definitely one of the better cheese curds we had. Their house made ranch was amazing. My hubby also ordered the Beast burger to go so he can eat it later. As we where finishing up some people came in that you could till are regulars and still kept the cozy vibe. We will be back. Perhaps the most impressive thing was that there was a medical emergency with a staff member when we were there (I was part of the group of 25) and we had no idea. That information was never communicated amongst staff so we had to wait a while for a table. Fries weren’t too salty and were the lightly battered kind. Jose was a friendly and helpful bartender chef and nice to talk to while seated at the bar. We’re not from the area and are always looking for a new bar or diner to try on our travels from northern Illinois to northern Wisconsin. Definitely going back and looking forward to trying the fish fry!“
