“My husband and I met up with a few friends here on a Saturday night and it was super busy! It took a little bit of waiting at the bar to get a table, but we did settle into a booth soon enough. Our waitress was super sweet and was clearly working very hard on this busy night, but took excellent care of us. I had a French Kiss followed by the House Daiquiri. The French Kiss was yummy, but a little strong on the hibiscus syrup in my opinion. The House Daiquiri was confusing - all the daiquiris I've ever had have been served neat in a coupe - my friend ordered a vodka gimlet which was served this way - but the daiquiri was on the rocks in a tall glass. It was very good nevertheless. My husband got an old fashioned, which he thoroughly enjoyed. They also have some bar food which we were excited to try. We ordered a basket of salted fries and risotto bites, but found out after that they were out of the risotto bites. The fries were really good: the outside was crispy and inside fluffy and not dense. It was also seasoned very well. I imagine the risotto bites were equally delicious, so we'll have to go back to try it! Our check did include the risotto bites, but our waitress was sweet and fixed it right away. Overall a good experience and would definitely come back!“
“Remember Jojo's? That's what my friend said to me after we finished dinner and we were looking for a place to keep talking and have a drink. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. I visited a few times a long time ago and it was just as relaxed and fun as before. The waitresses were very attentive and kind. I had a dirty martini and my friend had the espresso martini. We both enjoyed our drinks. Order 1 or 2 and you're good for the night! They had music playing and the Bucks game on, but we could still hold a conversation. Prices were fair and we felt welcome and comfortable. What else can you ask for?“
“As a celiac this place is a dream!!!!! Everything gluten free and can enjoy things I can’t enjoy anywhere else around. Fries, and cheese curds!! Everyone here is always so friendly and my family loves the food! Favorites are the crack fries, wings, cheese curds and hot sandwiches!“
“Very hip space and friendly staff. It was easy to get a spot here for a weekday lunch, though I could imagine it gets busy for dinner. The moo ping (pork skewers) came recommended and were delicious, perfect texture and very tender meat. The Bermuda Triangle roll was very good though had a bit too much sauce. They have a kids menu with meals for only $6 and daily specials, including half off select bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Overall highly recommend and look forward to coming back!“
“Excellent place you would definitely not be disappointed. The number one drink for me would be the smoking cherry bark Manhattan. That is one of the best things to meet drink wise but you can’t go wrong top-notch food, top-notch drink you would definitely be happy. Keep up the good work.“
“WOW! Amazing! GO! We were hesitant because we were visiting from Chicago and didn’t know if this place would live up to our foodie norms, but it was fantastic! Everything we got was delicious (elotes nachos, Brussels sprouts, all the chicken, burgers), the servers (Tara and Kayla) were super cool, and the vibes of the atmosphere were immaculate! I’d go back to Wisconsin just for this restaurant!“
“Great pizzas, pastas and cocktails. The Agrigento (sausage & pep with garlic sauce base) is the best. Great service, knowledgeable staff, and comfortable atmosphere. Passion goes into what they do here and it shows. Definitely a must try if you are a fan of Italian food.“
“Love this place, best var for craft coctails on the west side of milwaukee/suburbs. Been here so many times, food wise they just have a few simple apps like a giant pretzel, or a cheese platter which are all fine, tgey dont have a full menu butnypu can vring food if you want. Drink wise they have a nice selection of craft beers and a changing list of craft cocktails based on the season. There are unique flavors, and something for everyone from sweet to dry and everything between, all well balanced. Its in on old fire station so there isnt much indoor seating but lots outside & a gas fire pit for warmth.Parking: Only street parking available“
“New owners still getting their feet grounded. Sort of an unusual place. Mexican and Thai food. Talked with the owner, a very nice guy. They are still experimenting with the menu choices, based on the customer preferences. We would dine again.“
“I never knew I liked empanadas until I stopped in here. They have a ton of different flavors and every one I've had is really good. My favorites are the chicken tinga, mushroom and tomato mozzarella. The mushroom one is incredible. The chimichurri sauce is also great. They have a nice little tap beer selection as well. Always a good stop in Milwaukee.“
“A dimly-lit, laid-back cocktail lounge, which is just what I was seeking. Chill crowd, with vintage music in the background. The drinks are a bit different than what I’m used to; but the bartenders put their own little spin on tradition. That’s fine with me — variety is the spice of life. I will definitely be back.“
“The most incredible brunch food! Come support this women-owned, Latina-owned business.Everything on the menu is fabulous, but I can’t help but order the Carnita Hash Bowl every time. Such amazing flavors, veggies, and a generous portion of pork. The Serrano Pork Belly bowl is also incredible with crispy yet juicy and tender pork belly. You won’t leave hungry.P.S. their garlic bloody mary might be my favorite in the city. Amazing, fresh bloody mix with a Modelo chaser!P.P.S. Check their website for their weekly drink specials for a $6 drink of the day!“
“I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Edith. When you go to a place for cocktails, you usually expect the cocktails to be the star of the show and while I cannot express how delicious and thoughtfully crafted the cocktails were, Rhondi (the owner) was the real star. She has created such an inviting and beautiful space to share her passion. Edith is a rare gem. We will definitely be back!“
“Overall just a perfect corner bar, every aspect nailed - I have to say the standout quality to me was the sound system. The music selection was wide and tasteful but the real star for me was the actual sound. I’m not sure if I’ve heard as high quality of sound at a bar in my life. Clear with sub-bump and doesn’t interfere with conversation even at higher volume. I saw heads nodding all night, so dope.“
“The drinks and atmosphere here are above and beyond.Matt is one of the most personable bartenders I've had the pleasure to be served by. He will keep multiple conversations going with patrons while getting handcrafted drinks out remarkably fast. I don't think I waited longer than a minute after ordering to get anything.“
“tl;dr - a date night out with great staff and even better drinks Tin Widow is something special - the ambiance, the decor, the lightning - there's just something different about it and elevates things from your typical chic cocktail lounge. Always a cozy vibe with lit candles, but the staff really drives it for something different as they are caring, creative and are actually willing and seem like they want to chat with you when they have a breather. You would definitely want to come here for a romantic night out or just a great catchup night with friends. Again the decor is kind of fun, there's a lot of interesting little statues and art around that will be a conversation topic if you need one. This place also turns into a CRAZY hotspot during December where it's like a Miracle holiday pop up where it looks like Christmas has been (very lovingly) vomited all over the entire inside. A fun holiday drink menu and the crazy decorations make that a VERY hard place to get into when it's active. Basically, visit it at least once (it's fun to check out) and then become a normal Tin Widow regular and avoid that month like a plague. P.S. don't be weirded out, the bathroom is in a little bit of a strange area out the inside door and down a hallway, but it's all fine - you'll find it!“
“Restaurant looks plain and ordinary from the outside but inside is top notch. Service left nothing to be desired - perfect. Ordered all of the appetizers and they did not disappoint either! Every one was amazing - 10 out of 10! Had the Korean tacos, smoked salmon dip, spring rolls ( they were out of pork belly and replaced them with these), flautas, scallops. All were amazing and blew my mind that every appetizer was perfect - I would have expected at least one to leave room for improvement but no! Highly recommended“
“I feel compelled to leave a review, especially after reading Travis' negative review. Leaving a 1-star review because somewhere didn't hire you? You're just proving the point that you're immature and likely a poor employee. I would say At Random made the right decision.Anyway... This is possibly my favorite bar of all time. The cocktails, the ice cream, the ambience, the music. All of it is perfection. I'm not local, so when I am in the area, At Random is an absolute must. It's so dreamy and I can't wait to go back again.“
“If you come here knowing what to expect, and are willing to embrace the quirks, you’ll love it. It’s an old bowling alley, the restrooms remind me of my old elementary school, and it can be kind of musty. But they take great care to make the perfect pour over, have bourbon barrel aged coffee beans and delicious cold brew, and my favorite - a Cold (Brew) Fashioned, which tastes remarkably like an old fashioned cocktail but is a coffee drink, so good.“
“Matt is one of the best bartenders in the city.If you’re not stopping in here just because their cocktails are fire or their environment is cozy and kitschy, then you’ll likely want to stop for their great specials like Wednesday Mules. The $5 mezcal mule and the Kentucky mule are favorites of mine. Also, they have plenty games for you to play with friends. As well as a nice big patio for the summer. You can bring food to eat here. Belair is across the street.“
“This place is awesome! We were lucky enough to do a tour with the owner and ordered a round of drinks. The tour was super informative, and he was funny to boot! The drinks were to die for, and we went home with a bottle of their brandy, their rye, their chai liquor, and their bloody mary vodka. ? The atmosphere was such a cool vibe as well!“
“This is a fairly small space and things are cozy, but the ambiance is wonderful ?. Low key but very detailed, I found myself walking (carefully) around and looking at the details. We ordered small plates as appetizers, and they were fantastic and arrived quickly. The large plates took a fair bit longer to arrive, but all of us cleaned our plates. Seriously, my tiny sister actually scraped her plate clean with her fork and knife. Overall, this was a very nice experience. Prices for food were pretty high, though cocktail prices were a good deal.Vegetarian options: Butternut squash small plate was insanely delicious“
“I was introduced to this super cool coffee shop through a Yelp event and, for that, I am super grateful. It's a coffee bar with a large indoor space - lots of tables on the main floor and there's a second floor with additional seating as well. In addition to coffee and snacks, they have a bar with really good drinks, pizza, and sandwiches. We stopped by here after a date night at Glassnote next door for a bite to eat before we met up with a few friends for more drinks. We got a margherita pizza, which took about -25 minutes to get to us. You would think that for a coffee place, the food would be mediocre, but that is NOT at all the case! The pizza had a really nice thin crispy crust. The sauce was full of flavor and the olive oil on top was *chef's kiss*. The cheese was sparse (like a true Margherita), but the whole pie was easily one of the better pizzas I've had recently! They also had a live band when we stopped by, which added a very cool vibe and for a Saturday evening, it was super busy with all kinds of people - some socializing, some working. We didn't imbibe at this visit, but have had their espresso martinis before and they are truly top notch and I highly recommend!“
“I was enjoying a date night with my husband. We had been to a hockey game, dinner at the 3rd Street Market Hall, and then my husband had found this spot on Yelp and thought it would be the perfect place for a nightcap. It is the absolute perfect place for a nightcap. The vibes are warm, cozy, and candlelit. The bartender was outstanding. Their cocktail menu is surprisingly wonderful. We had a lovely time. I ordered a sazerac for my first cocktail. It was wonderful. It's a little heavier on the absinthe than some folks make it so something to note if you're not an absinthe lover. My husband got a Manhattan (which I tried) and it was pitch perfect. For my second cocktail, I got the revolver--coffee forward, strong, and delicious. My husband got a last word, which I also tried, and it was a beautifully herbaceous delight. Just when we think we've tried all the great cocktail bars in the area, one sneaks up and surprises and delights. Get to it!“
“First time going after seeing an instagram post - so glad we tried it out! Pizza: we tried the club banger and the Mac & cheese. Wished the hot honey sauce was hotter but overall, both were great! Apps: tried the crab Rangoon spring rolls and the stuffed cheese bread. Both were a bit pricey ($13 and $12) for what they were. Still tasty! Service: amazing! We had 2 kids with us and all of the staff were so warm and friendly! Overall - so great! I’d recommend and plan to go back!“
“C-viche was an absolutely extraordinary experience. I was there Saturday afternoon and the food was extraordinary. We got the classic ceviche and it was perhaps the best I ever had and then the seafood Chaufu had SO MUCH seafood in it, it was mostly seafood. And then we got the cheesecake dessert which was so good, it was sweet, but not too sweet, it was the perfect end to a meal and not too rich that it took down my evening. On top of the amazing food the staff was so nice and friendly. It felt very close-knit in a good way, and Marco, who we were talking to, is so incredibly friendly.Recommend 1000%“
“Had been wanting to try Pufferfish at Hotel Metro for a while! It was clearly marked how to find it inside the hotel and loved the entrance as you go up another set of stairs to get to the bar (but does have a lift for accessibility). I enjoyed my drink, got the Tropic Bird, and all of the live plants and varied seating options. I would only love to see it a bit darker in there (especially the side room) as that is what I love about tiki bars but overall enjoyed my experience! Was a perfect spot for a pre-dinner drink and would like to return in summer for the rooftop.“
“It's my second time being here. We went in earlier than expected and they allowed us to adjust our reservations for 6. Service was good and so was our server. The drinks were decent (could be a tad better). Plenty of booze in them though! My custom pizza was excellent. Highly recommend. Clearly fresh ingredients. Definitely will go back.“
“Been there a few times now and besides having a great time whether bingo, listening to music or crafting the owners and staff all so personable and ensuring everyone is having a good time. Great atmosphere and btr than any actual bar scene even though there is a bar. Options for everyone- great job guys!“
“We stopped on our way home for a quick lunch here. It was a pleasant surprise. The service is quick and polite And check back often to see if you need a refill ECT. The menu is basically Brats with a few exceptions. But don't be turned off by the mostly brats description, there are lamb, turkey, Italian And mixtures of meat brats. They are prepared and served with dressing put together by the chef specialized for each flavor brat. A truly inspiring mix of herbs ,greens and dressings that make a simple brat meal a culinary experience. The restaurant it self is very basic in style and decor, with a long bar running down one side. The mixed drinks on draught are very good and worth a try as well.“
“This place is really fun! Casual art deco digs and a creative and engaging menu. We loved all of it! The Staff were superb, and the best bathrooms maybe ever. My only complaint was ALL the dishes were salty, like really salty. Even my salad. I didn’t really mind but, it was a bit much after a couple of course.I look forward to trying the other restaurants from these creators!“
“Great spot for date night! We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was very nice and checked in frequently. Food came out faster than expected. The chicken piccata meatballs were delicious. The portion sizes for our main dishes were very generous, so we had left overs. Both dishes were great! The espresso martini was a little creamy, which was amazing. We were too full for dessert but definitely want to try something next time!“
“This is a unique drinking establishment for Walker’s Point, or what some people call the Fifth Ward. The current trend calls for a craft brewery, an independent distillery, an ersatz gourmet restaurant, or a place left over from the clandestine 1980s or 1990s. Breaking that template, Wall Street is a black owned, sultry cocktail bar with the sounds of “sweet soul music” filling the handsome space. Milwaukee may be growing up, accepting its diversity and realizing it can be urbane without losing its roots. That beer and a shot town may be long gone.Looking like more like a model from Paris or New York City, the proprietor Sharisse, named the bar after her mother who taught her finance and how to use economic investment to further yourself in a competitive world. Sharisse’s presence adds class and panache to the Wall Street Stock Bar. Less of a South Side bar, and more NYC or Paris, the Wall Street offers an array of delicious mixed cocktails and tasty bites to eat. Helping to tend bar, Naomi greets you with her bubbly personality and a ready smile, making everyone feel welcomed. Prices are a little higher than the typical corner tavern, but Wall Street pays off with a sophistication lacking from most places in Milwaukee. It reminds me of when Elsa’s on the Park first opened, breaking the mold in the Cream City, bringing Karl Kopp’s vision of a cool and hip Milwaukee to fruition.Go to the Wall Street Stock Bar and support the “new Milwaukee.” It isn’t all bar dice and dem and dose anymore.“
“Highly recommend! We were on vacation and stopped here right after dinner on Brady Street. While eating dinner next door, I kept eyeing the posters of their boozy slushies and I couldn't resist! The woman who served me I think was the owner. She was very warm, friendly, and so helpful in recommending what cocktail would best suit my preferences. It was delicious! Always happy to support a black-owned, woman-owned business. ❤️“
“The Daq Shack hosted my wife’s Twenty Nine… excuse me… I mean Twenty FINE birthday celebration. Everyone played a role in making our party feeling welcome and special feeding us wonderful food in tandem with their lovely assortment of drinks. Absolutely perfect in every way. Definitely recommend to family and friends.“
“The architecture on the first floor of this building is absolutely breathtaking, creating a very elegant and refined atmosphere. Once you ascend to the bar, you are greeted by a beautiful view of the city. The addition of live jazz playing throughout the night was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.I came here solely for drinks, so my rating is based solely on this aspect.“
“Simply the finest beer bar around. No TVs, just excellent beer. The interior design could be in a beer bar magazine. Perfect in the summer with the garage doors up and in winter with some live music playing. My car veers to the curb as I drive by....“
“Great service! They had very friendly staff and owner who were very welcoming to us. It was fun for a packer game and they served free food as well on the day we came which was a plus! Drinks were a great price, it was very clean, and they had a nice cozy setup with so many TVs which was perfect for watching the game. Bathrooms were also well kept and appreciated the feminine products they had as well! Def would recommend and come back!“
“Paloma is not only my favorite Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee, it also has incredible value for the food itself. The service is awesome. If there is a wait, which there most certainly will be because of good the food is, the hostess will offer you a drink to enjoy. The atmosphere is fantastic. It's not like all the new Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee where you can tell they just throw everything on top of a tortilla that has been made for the last 3 hours. Everything is authentic and made to order. I love Paloma and can't wait for their new location in Bay View to open as well.“
“We dined for lunch at Momo Mee today. It was our first time there, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Our service with Mari was top notch and accommodating. The food choices are plentiful, with great options for vegetarians, too. Our meals were flavorful, not too salty, colorful and very flavorful. Loved the gentle music and not too loud, pleasant atmosphere, too. Also appreciated the convenient, free and plentiful parking. We’ll be back with friends! Thank you.“
“I have driven past this place for a couple years now and I have never seen an open sign light up but today it was shining bright so I stopped for an adult beverage. Brian was bartending on my visit and it was all regulars but they didn't make me feel like an outsider. I ordered my Gin Rickey and no one in the bar had ever heard of it, no drink for Brian today but any bartender who can make one gets a drink on me. The place is your typical WI dive bar with a theme of bobble heads because the owner collects them. The staff was very friendly and the Gin Rickey was very refreshing. The place has a small bar with one giant flat screen and smaller flat screens around the room.“
“I would go out of my way for the food at this bar. And try the special, whatever it is that day, they always put some heart into it.Wheelchair accessibility: I got beat at pool by a guy in a wheelchair, and I'm good. If that works for him, it should work for others.“
“This is a sweet little (and I mean little) spot! It’s quite literally a bar in a vault. I’m not sure you’ll find a smaller bar in Milwaukee. We were lucky enough to nab the table of a couple that didn’t show up for their reservation. The drink menu is very unique and fun - there are packed with more ingredients than normal. We especially enjoyed the Singapore Sling Type Beat. They do change up their menu. It can be loud due to the nature of it being a tiny room, so maybe don’t bring a first date here. Max occupancy is 11 so make a reservation beforehand.“
“love this place! just came here while visiting from out of town and was so impressed with the staff, considering it was a Saturday night and packed full.there were only a few bartenders serving the entire place and they handled everything with speed and ease. when I had trouble getting an Uber, they made sure I was safe getting to my hotel. they are all professional and sweet.I absolutely will come back here again when I’m in town- specifically because of the bar staff“
“I enjoyed the food at Ventura's. My Pollo con mole was excellent, much better than I expected from this tiny offshoot from a taco truck. Everything was fresh and homemade, including the delicious chips. Ventura's chimichanga, an American-Mexican dish, was also made in-house and was tasty. Our server was pleased to take care of us and enjoyed our compliments. We finished our meal with a flan that I enjoyed, but my wife thought was mediocre. She's picky, though, and we have a friend who makes her own flan, which is out of this world, but she lives in CDMX, so who cares? I had a great meal at Ventura's and shall return. Prices were reasonable.“
“My friends and family brought me to this bar on a very quiet night. The folks working were absolutely wonderful and friendly. They took care of us quickly and even changed the televisions to a game that I was interested in, while others were probably not. There was plenty of seating available that night, but I'd assume that most will gladly stand when the bar is packed. I always enjoy these comfortable, no pressure type of locations, you will not get a dirty look walking in as an outsider, you would be welcomed in and I would assume after a couple hours you will leave having had great conversations and meeting some very friendly Milwaukee residents. I'm sure I'll be back and to find these locations literally tucked in between homes in a quiet neighborhood is what makes Milwaukee special.Parking: You are in a neighborhood, so parking is shared with the residents“
“We came here for some pre-dinner drinks on a Wed night and it was so cozy and festive, and not too busy which was a plus! The bartender was so sweet and gave me lots of tasters before I decided on the Vienna Lager (so good!). The lounge area with chairs and a couch set a great mood to enjoy a couple beers after hitting the Christmas Market. They have the coolest mapping of beers on the wall, honestly so informative to understand what beers come from what family (with specific examples of each one) and what glasses to drink them in. Downtown Tosa was so cute and we look forward to going back!“
