“We attended the Hypnotized event on Saturday and it was so much fun. The event space is large and the tables are well spaced so you don’t feel crowded. There are 2 bars and bathrooms. The food was better than expected given the size of the event. The band was great and there was room up front to dance…which we did the entire time. It was the perfect way to celebrate our birthdays! We highly recommend Pier 290.“

“Pam was a great bartender & the food as excellent. We travel from Huntley, IL, down RT 47 to Milwaukee to visit our son at college for his home games and this will be our new go to place. The salmon was cooked perfectly & hubby loved his shrimp tacos. Hubby also said the tab beer was perfect. He could tell the beer lines were clean & the beer was nice and cold! We will be back for sure. A+ experience.“

“Fabulous ....... Was there for dinner during SoberFest 2025 on Satur evening. Manager Brain is great, funny and actually noticed he gets his hands dirty and helps out with tables assisting servers. We had no reservation and he got us a table without issue. Our server KatieN was fabulous as well.
And to top it all off they opened the buffet early and what a fabulous deal price wise, great selection & choices for food. I took advantage of the all you can eat & everything was top notch & tasted great. Honestly, I'm not a big buffet fan but I would Never hesitate to do the buffet here and for what you get it is priced Very fairly. Hats off to everyone from top to bottom at the Grand Cafe, job well done“

“We recently visited the store and bought, among other things, the artichoke chicken and kale casserole. We heated it up - it's all pre-cooked - and enjoyed it for dinner a couple days later. We couldn't be happier. It had plenty of nice-sized well cooked chicken, plenty of artichokes and pasta. The taste was excellent. We are seniors, so the serving size was not only plenty for the 2 of us, I had leftovers for the next day's lunch. Thanks, Thyme. We'll be back and we encourage everyone to try their offerings.“

“Out on a friend’s boat, and stopped for drinks and snacks. Service was good. Drinks were good. Food is typical bar stuff- made from frozen. Had some pizza and wings and taco bites. Prices fair. Has a couple of docks that fill up pretty quick, so some folks have to float around in the water while waiting for a chance to tie up, but it all works out. Music playing, darts, and cornhole. “We ate here, 11/6/25, it was a beautiful day, so we decided to take the drive up to Lake Geneva from the Chicago area. We were there about 1pm. There was a moderate sized crowd. All of the staff was very friendly. We opted for their (cod) fish fry. Honestly, it was better than we expected. It was just lightly breaded (we find that a lot of fried fish at restaurants are way over breaded). It is served with hush puppies, coleslaw, and choice of fries or crispy potato pancake. It was all delicious! They start you out 2 pieces of fish, I guesstimate about 4 1/2”x 2-3”. The fish and potato pancake was so hot you could barely eat it right away, you could tell it had just come out of the fryer. My husband was ready for seconds before I finished mine, so he ordered a couple more pieces before me. They were on the table within 5 minutes!!! You can also order more of the sides! We opted out of that, bc the fish was so good,and we didn’t want to fill up on the sides. I also ordered another piece, and again, it came out quickly. We would definitely go back here. The fish fry is $16.99 if you get there before 4pm, and $19.99 after that. Our server, Jesse, was very friendly, polite, and attentive. We were seated by the window and had a lovely view of the lake. They have a parking lot that is $5/ hour. I don’t know how much the street parking is, but we opted for the lot instead of driving around looking for a spot. We were out within the 1 hour mark anyway. Btw, even the parking lot attendant was extremely nice. Also, they put a little card on your table so you can tell them about your experience, and if you have any suggestions. I feel like they really care about their customers. Will definitely return. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!“

“The food was great, our server was amazing however the noise level inside was a bit overwhelming. They were extremely busy with families so it was to be expected. After we ate our server accommodated us at an outside table to view the lake and continue to visit. I would highly recommend.“

“I'm at Hogs nearly every Wednesday night for the Glenn Davis Blues jam. Have been for years. Feels like family. The blues jam is great, a variety of really excellent musicians drop by, sign up, and play some great music in the Blues Jam tradition (everyone gets a chance to play). No cover. Food is excellent, service is great. Oh yeah, and parking is free that time of night. Contrary to some posts here, I've never seen any kind of altercation, aside from a "musician" that outright sucked and got bent out of shape at the band leader when told to come back when he learned to play or at least accept guidance. The other band members handled that, peacefully. We welcome all musicians that have basic skills, as long as they can accept guidance (best way to learn). They allow me to play :). Worst I've ever seen on a Wednesday night is a couple people falling down drunk. They got helped out, and a ride home. I can't speak for Friday or Saturday night, or possible out of control Bachlerette parties, haven't been there.😁“
