I worked at a ponderosa local to us for years, and grew up going there. Unfortunately all the ones near our home have closed. We were so excited to visit this location and introduce our kids to ponderosa.
The service was great from the minute we walked in the door. The food was great, and the server was not only attentive but so good with our kids.

I definitely recommend Ponderosa Steakhouse. Not only are they reasonably priced but they have a very generous buffet in addition to their steaks. The service is very attentive and friendly. It's too bad that they are not located everywhere in the US. If you're visiting the Dells, you owe it to yourself to visit this restaurant.
The buffet food is awful, straight from the can to the container, tasteless, the chicken is runny and tough. I will never go back and the price of $71 dollars for 3 people is too much. I do not recommend it, that is why it is always empty.
