“Super awesome workers here- we forgot a few items and they let us borrow some that they had in stock which was sooo helpful, brought wood to us, it was almost like having guest services since they patrolled our area often. We stayed in a 150s lot for tent camping and it was a short walk to the beach and bathrooms/showers, but worth it! We kayaked, swam, cooked out, had a fire… the usual… didn’t even think about extra events even jf they had some (I saw a comment about not enough events). The pond was nice, murky in some areas but to be expected and the rest was clean. Water area/pond was busy during the day but their inflatables and water activities were open until 8pm so we had plenty of “quiet time” and room to explore! Bathrooms were nice and large, a bit of sand never hurt anybody! The life jackets were worn and kind of smelly, but they were free! Bring your own if you’re worried about that! Also to add- it would be great if there were rope ladders or something to help the younger kiddos back on the inflatables if they get stuck/fall in… it would be nice to have a bit more safety features for the kiddos/families that arent super familiar with it. All in all. We will definitely be back, thank you Chapparal staff!!“

“Came to the former Beezers now the Hillsboro Roadhouse for lunch with 2 fellow hunters after I had told them how good it was 2 days before when I stopped for lunch on the way back from Sunrise orchards who I have reviewed in the past. So after sitting down our server came out with menus and to find out what we wanted to drink which was Cokes all around she left us to check out the menus after telling us the specials of the day. When she returned with our drinks we were ready to order i got the Bacon cheeseburger with American cheese and fries as i had 2 days before as it was excellent one of my companions ordered the same except he changed the fries for deep fried mushroom caps the other ordered the fish sandwich with fries we also ordered a side of fried cheese curds which turned out to be a big hit and totally different from the average cheese curds you get at other restaurants. Our food came in a very short time and as I expected everything was great burgers thick and juicy with 2 crispy full strips of bacon cheese melted perfectly fries seem hand cut and are cooked perfectly and my one fellow hunters mushroom caps he said were great and the others fish sandwich was really good also. The star of the table was the cheese curds as I said they are different than any I've had anywhere else. To begin with they are not breaded and they are hand cut chunks of cheese so they are all different sizes they are fried and they are soft and gooey inside but they retain that little squeak of fresh curds as you chew them. We learned the secret of there making from our server but I won't reveal it here you can come and enjoy them for yourself and maybe find out. It was a great lunch with excellent food and service. Come to the Hillsboro Roadhouse if you are in the area of Hillsboro,WI you won't be disappointed. Just to update my earlier review stopped in for an early Friday dinner and it was as good as the last time me and my 2 hunting companions were here I had the 2 piece fried cod which you can also get broiled it came with choice of potato and soup and salad which I chose my friends got the Roadhouse ham and cheese with the salad bar instead of potato and a cheeseburger with lettuce,tomato,raw onions and Swiss cheese with fries. We also wanted to try the Roadhouse onion rings. Once again as with our first meal here everything was excellent with the onion rings getting an extra thumbs up from all 3 of us. Great food great service once again you won't be disappointed I dont believe.“
