“Highly recommend!! Cupcake Me Home catered the cake and cupcakes for my wedding back in October. I would do anything to relive that first bite of peanut butter cake all over again! Everything looked as great as it tasted. My husband and I can’t wait to revisit when we’re back in the area!”
“Friendly service! I stopped in from out of town and the owner was more than happy to answer all my questions about places to visit. He even threw in a few free cookies. They were delicious and lived up to the hype.”
“Really nice people that work there, and pretty nice customers too. We’ve gotten to know some of “the regulars” from our once-weekly visits. Great Wings, fries, and assorted sandwiches. Good atmosphere, lots of laughs, and on weekends an occasional band for entertainment. My favorite place to relax, and it could be your favorite place to relax too. I highly recommend it.”
“Don't let the fact that it's a truck stop fool you; they serve real food here. They serve their full menu all day with generous hours. The sausage and ham were juicy, the waffle was good, the pancakes were sizable and tasty, and the biscuits and gravy were good as well. The later used some very dense biscuits which is how I like it; they didn't just disintegrate. The portion sizes were very generous and my entire massive order combined with the order of my dining partner was under $50.The waitresses provided good conversation and kept keeping each other updated on how much food I had left in front of me until it was all gone. We were checked on regularly and drinks were kept full. Overall a great little unassuming restaurant!”
“You go in as a stranger but you come out with new friends.Bartenders are Great people,Cooks are Phenomenal.Great place to just hang out and chill.Parking: At least 10 spots, depending on time of day---could have entire lot for parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Located directly in front to entry.”
“After a day of exploring at Ohiopyle me and my friend who are craft beer and brewery enthusiasts were excited to stop by here and have some beers afterwards. We initially were stopped in our tracks by the doors being locked and the business being closed which was a surprise to us because I had read on Yelp the hours were 4-10ish but we'd later find out that was more like 4ish to 10ish. Haha!We were bummed and as we were walking back to the Jeep to head somewhere else, I sparked up a conversation with a couple gentlemen from the area who were in the parking lot. They were waiting to go inside as well and assured us that the owner would be there soon. So we chatted about beers and breweries and then boom, the owner pulled in.We found out that she had to pick up an order she had placed at Sam's Club and while doing that a girl had called off, so totally understandable. We all helped her unload the stuff she bought for the bar and then she served us an ice cold Halleck Pale Ale in frosted mugs from Chestnut Brew Works, which sadly enough I'd never had until then, Wow was it was tasty! Thanks Shorty for the recommendation. It's now on my favorite list. After chatting it up with the locals we happened to find out to our surprise that a guy we grew up with now lived in the area and made friends with the locals since they were all super good musicians. So they called him up and he came down and had a beer with us before we had to head out. They played us their new music on the jukebox and it was very good and we also met a local guy who had just been inducted into the WV Music Hall Of Fame. Damn, these are the days I live for!Listen, this place is 100% awesome! The owner Laura is amazing, the locals are kind and friendly, the beer is super cold and mostly local but some of your other favorites too, she makes her own wine and it's on tap, the food looks good, she supports locals businesses as well by purchasing their stuff for resale, it's roomy and they have a pool table. It's a super cool place and I can't wait to go back and hang out again and grab a pizza from the pizzeria next door.Sláinte!”
“Gena was absolutely incredible! She took care of us and it was damn near the best subway sandwich we've ever had. Amazing GENUINE customer service. She was fast, efficient, kind, and incredible at her job. She definitely deserves a raise. We will definitely be back if we're ever in the area again. Thank you!”
“Great local restaurant plenty of seating and a great friendly atmosphere.Parking: Parking in the side of the building and the close parking is somewhat limited but it's there.”
“This is a very homey local place with a rural charm you don't get in the city. Deserts are great, but I usually drive out of my way for the Buckwheat cakes in the AM. These are getting harder to find. Service has always been first rate and friendly.Parking: Large gravel lot.”
“This is the mid range priced restaurant at Nemacolin. Service was efficient. Grilled salad was not grilled...just lightly torched and very cold. Otherwise our meals were good. Ambience is lovely and Falling Rock Hotel is beautiful.”
“No green tea but i had my own. The waitress didnt have any vofffee cups so she sanitized her private cup and brought me hot water. Very kind of her. Otherwise, the food is a thee. The beef hoagie was tooo dry and the onion rings, although excellent tasking were greasy.”
“I have always wanted to stop here on Route 40, on way from DC to Columbus, in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. Looked inviting and I thought they might have good pies and this was confirmed. They are made by their other family operation Ohiopyle Bakery. Unique interesting place with friendly service. She made a great recommendation: Caramel Apple pie. One of the best ever. All their pies are appealing with artistic crusts. My pie crust was perfect in texture and had wonderful flavor. Apples not overcooked, the right size slices, and caramel flavor great without being too sweet. Need to go back to DC soon so I can get another and also try their pizza pie. Fall foliage starting to look good in that area now.”
“Friendly place. Had a weird unusual night not too long ago and the bartender stoop up for me. It started out like any other night. I’m pretty new to the area. Everyone was friendly and protective of their friends and regulars. The one patron needless to say is now banned from there. Thank you Johnny for everything! I’ll be there again soon!. That guy was creepy.”
“First time visiting and very much impressed! The place was packed when we got there yet we were attended to right away! The QR code ordering is not only convenient but quite expedient. I had a cold beer in hand less than a 1 minute from ordering. Just wow! Special shout out to Jameson for keeping the kitchen open for us as we arrived near the kitchen closing time. Overall the Screech Owl has great food and even better yet attentive customer service. Something so hard to get these days sadly. Cannot recommend them enough, thank you to all the staff there!”
