We had a great dinner at Kel’s. First time there! I had the grilled chicken with bacon and mushrooms and hubby had shrimp Alfredo. 5/5 stars!
This was our second visit and definitely not our last. The staff was attentive, little to no wait, and our server Evon/Yvonne (sp) was fantastic! I had a bougie Bloody Mary topped with the best bacon I’ve ever eaten. I had to try the meatloaf I kept hearing about, and it delivered! (Meatloaf is my favorite, and I’m very picky about it) It was packed with flavor, moist, had a perfect crispy crust (which I love), and topped with the perfect amount of sweet glaze. Kel's Tavern is a comfortable restaurant with a relaxed but energetic vibe, located a very quick distance off the highway. The smell of delicious food hits you as soon as you open the door into the very clean space. The service is superb, spectacular, friendly, attentive, and welcoming, with staff described as wonderful and amazing. Servers are quick to greet guests and are attentive to little things.
The food is delicious, amazing, fabulous, scrumptious, incredibly good, and top-notch. Portions are very plentiful and huge. Notable dishes include the fried green tomato appetizer, the pretzel with beer cheese, and the pimento cheese fries. The meatloaf sandwich is repeatedly praised as amazing, ridiculously good, hearty, and delicious. Other menu items enjoyed are the tavern burger, the fish sandwich, the salad with homemade croutons, and bread pudding with ice cream. Sides like French fries, homemade potato chips, and mac & cheese are also top-notch. It is a great experience and a must stop, with many guests eager to return and try more.
