Then, disaster struck: a CO2 regulator went down at the worst possible moment (because of course it did). Total beer emergency. “I was looking for a place halfway between Lewisburg and Charleston with things for kids to do. The Chocolate Moose was perfect. Our bunch of three adults and six kids was a lot - a lot of noise, and a lot of energy. The staff handled our coffee (delicious!) and ice cream requests with patience and smiles. Because of The Chocolate Moose a crew of kid cousins who don’t get to visit with each other very often had a great afternoon together playing mini golf, eating ice cream and playing board games. We will be back as soon as we can.”

“My husband and I eat at Cheddar's often. I love the food, the service, the prices and the atmosphere. I love the lemon chicken for it's flavor and it's not fried. This is the first time I have been unsatisfied with it as it was so salty I could not eat it. No lemon flavor at all. The rice was not seasoned as usual, either. I will go back but it this happens again, I will send it back. Maybe the cook was having a rough day.”

Instead of regular bread or a roll I got some cornbread.

“So my wife and I wound up in Beckley for an event we could no longer attend. We decided to see what kind of fun we could have around town & came across Jimmie's Place. When we went in it was just us, the bartender Sam & the door guy Travis. They were very welcoming & Sam made some great drinks & was so very friendly. This place is completely under the category of dive bar but it was a really cool dive bar that I'm glad we went to. A cool experience. If we end up in Beckley again we will definitely go back.”

“The food here is one of mine and my husbands favorites! They keep their food incredibly fresh and replenish their buffet every 15 minutes. They are incredibly friendly! “My husband and I are traveling from Xenia OH to Charlotte NC and stopped in Beckley VA for lunch. We wanted something sweet to eat and googled "bakery near me". Kenzie's Kakes came up and down the road we went. I liked the catchy name and thought surely this place has to be good--and it was! The cake balls were the best I've had (not overly sweet) and also enjoyed the Reeses cupcake. So glad you became part of our travels!!”
