Take a look at our favorite Dunbar Mexican restaurants.
“I haven't eaten in Taco Bell in ages. Usually on the go. I went in this time, tried new items, and noticed other. I will go back and try. Service was friendly, and fast food was fresh and tasteful. I even avoided the shell foods and got the bowl that helped keep my diabetes down. Way to go, Dunbar Taco Bell“
“The food has an absolutely amazing taste, and the service is great. The waiters were attentive and made sure we didn't run out of drinks or chips and salsa. The bathrooms were very dirty. The restaurant atmosphere Is pretty decent, it could be a little brighter though.Parking: There are several parking spots!“
“Exceptional modern take on Mexican. You can find traditional Mexican special ties. The star attraction however are a wide range of street tacos. You can do 3 for $14. My favorites include Birria, barbacoa, shrimp, fish and tongs chicken. Atmosphere is sports bar, but not too much noise to distract.“
“I thought this place would be smaller but it’s actually pretty comfortable on the inside. The bar runs the length of the dining area with plenty of space between it and the tables. Since it was my first time here I let them order for me and I got the street tacos and it was delicious. The service was great and they were really kind to me. I am excited to go back and have more. They even brought me my own big bowl of chips. Which was nice as I was by myself and starving. I couldn’t have had a better first experience at a place. Nice to have a Mexican restaurant downtown and within walking distance in all of Charleston. The atmosphere is dark and the decor is really aesthetically pleasing. It really works for setting the mood. Good place to watch the games I imagine though none were on while I was in. I will be back with guest.Parking: Parking is limited but you shouldn’t have to park more than a block away at a meter or at the parking garage located on Summers Street. I believe it is free.Wheelchair accessibility: You can get inside the restaurant from the sidewalk and sit at the end cap of the table quite comfortably.“
“This place is on point! The salsa is legit, lots of fresh cilantro flavor. The El Patron burrito is massive and delicious. Service was super fast and friendly, They keep the place clean and clearly care about being an awesome restaurant! I will definitely be back very soon.“
“Cannot say enough amazing things about this resturant. Prices are more than reasonable. You can get a full large meal under $10 with a drink chips and salsa, which is rare nowadays. It is always, always delicious. The staff are friendly and work hard. Always so nice over the phone. Never forget anything out of my order and I go there a LOT. Love this place. I have been going there my whole life and hope they stay there forever. If you are new to the area. GO GET SOME!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly atmosphere“
“Looked like a fancy Mexican restaurant from the outside and smelled good. The white sauce with the chip reminded me of a yum yum sauce from a Asian restaurant. The red salsa was nice. I got the enchiladas Supreme, way to much food more me and very cheesy. Next time I'd hold the cheese. Overall the service was good and friendly. Wish I would have went to the fajitas.“
“We recommend the white dip and the cameron locos.Vegetarian options: You can get anything here and just minus the meat. But they do cook separate for these menu optionsKid-friendliness: Bar is separate from other areas to have childrenWheelchair accessibility: Very wide and open floor plan“
“This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant! They have had off for a family vacation for the past week and we were counting down the days to visit again and get our fix! Service is always fast and friendly. Tonight we had a big party ahead of us and still didn't even wait long for a table... They were packed!Tonight I went for something different and had the fajitas with chicken and steak. That's something easy to do low carb and not eat the flour tortillas that come with it. My husband has the Arroz con Pollo and my daughter had a side of grilled chicken with cheese dip and rice from my plate. Everything tasted great but I'm going for my usual next time... I missed my grilled chicken and cheese! Lol“
“We were on the highway at 9:00 and didn't want fast food. Luckily, we found Las Trancas is open until 10:30! The chips and salsa are very good. I have the Enchiladas Mer y Terra (could of misspelled) which was three different enchiladas. One shrimp with crab, one potato, and one beef. This was a good dish. I didn't love the potato one but I would order the shrimp and crab enchiladas all alone! Hubs had a plate of three chicken tacos. We each had a soda and our bill was under $25! That almost never happened anymore. Next time I travel through I will remember this place.“
“Very nice restaurant with some nice variations of the standard offerings. The area is a little lackluster but ignore that the food and service. My suggestion is the pineapple shrimp tacos. They are well prepared, topped and presented well. The option of getting sides that are a little uncommon in the local restaurants were nice as well. The black beans were well cooked and seasoned and the street corn was perfect.“
“A great dinner, and drinks, with great service. Thanks for making our date memorable! We ordered the Chicken Cancun, and Popeye Spinach. The margarita was very good, and so we're the chips and salsa.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant is latex-free, and they were glad to accommodate our guacamole allergy.Parking: Lots of parking close to the entrance.Wheelchair accessibility: Conveniently located handicapped parking near the entrance.“
“This is the most cleanest Hardee's I have ever been in. I went the the bathroom it smelled so great snd was so clean! The food was so delicious. I have already bragged about thus Hardee's to everyone I come incounter with. Highly satisfied. Thank you for your service.“
“I don't normally leave reviews but since this a much needed new restaurant on the Kanawha River and the only other review was so far from our experience I felt obligated. This is my 2nd visit in a week 1st visit was by myself out on the deck, great view of the river, server was very professional, burritos were great and about twice as much food as I could eat, I didn't read the receipt, but felt my meal was well worth what I paid. Came back tonight with the wife, gave her the tour. Nice new, clean dining areas, excellent bar with 2 bartenders, nice little lounge area, got a donkey you can try your cowboy skills on, little dance floor maybe for future use? Outside deck area is going to be the hotspot this summer, huge overlooking deck on the river, boat dock to hold several boats, tiki bar, Our meal tonight, shrimp and rice dish was awesome! my steak was a little more done then I liked, I was honest when the waiter ask how was everything, he apologized and offered to replace, I was already full so I got a doggie bag. No big deal. Place was not overly busy, but all our neighbors were happy and giving compliments to our waiter. We knew him from another popular Mexican restaurant in the area. So if you want to ensure a great experience request Jose Rodriguez to entertain you“
“I love the I love the arroz con pollo here. Everything else that we've tried is normally been great as well. I love how the queso has a little bit of a bite to it. A lot of times when we go here the staff seems like they're a little annoyed. They've never been mean or anything like that, just a little off.“
“We had dinner here over the weekend. I had the roasted beet salad, it was delicious. Portion was so big that I couldn't finish it. My husband had the hot mess burrito. He managed to finish his dinner. He was very satisfied with his meal. We both had different brews, it was delicious. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was amazing. There were options for gluten free.“
“Very quick, food was hearty, authentic mexican. The meat was thick and seasoned, not a lot of rice or beans as filler, hence "authentic". Tasted fantastic, no complaints at all. Got two burritos (chicken/steak) along with beef nachos. The beef nachos are very simple, just the nachos, beef, and cheese, corn chips, I imagine you can order other toppings, we didn't ask for them. Very filling, delicious.“
“This Taco Bell is awesome. The drive through is always so fast, everyone that works here is happy and as kind as can be. They always get my order correct even though I'm a pain in the a** with mods. Definitely a good spot to grab a bite.“
“This is my Partner and I’s favorite Mexican spot. They have great food and the Texas margaritas in jumbo size are amazing. It’s nice to be able to communicate in Spanish too if you need to. All the staff does an amazing job checking up on you. Highly recommend! Also the Mexican street asada tacos requested with no cheese are amazing they’re authentic Mexican if you request it with no cheese. Favorite item on the menu!“
