New American Restaurants near Glen Dale, WV

“When I and my 3 siblings were youngsters in Glen Dale in the 1950s, our parents every once in a while brought DiCarlos takeout home after our bedtimes to share with any guests they may have had. Now, the good part is this: If any DiCarlos was left over, they put these gems into the oven (no heat) for we kids to "discover" on Saturday morning. Talk about delicious! DiCarlos was my introduction to real pizza, and it was a great intro. My mother did attempt to copy DiCarlos pizza every once in a while, and she was very successful (thank you, mom). Of course, the standard against which she measured success was always DiCarlos. The Glen Dale location is probably going on 75 years or more in business now. And, 75 years? You'd be right in thinking DiCarlos is doing something right, yes? I'd say, try DiCarlos and try it often. Glen Dale is a better place for having the original DiCarlos.“

“I ordered the Deck Salad with grilled chicken. Don't expect to eat the whole thing, it is huge. Loved it! It had blackberries as big as my thumb, strawberries and blue berries. And, of course, it had dried cranberries, pecans and feta cheese. I would order it again. I wish they would bring back the Reuben dog. It also was delicious.“

“Burgers had no flavor. Fries were limp and greasy. pickles had a rind so hard you couldn't eat them. What happened??? You were so good before. Disappointed. Waitress was nice..so there's that.DO NOT RECOMMEND.“
