“I don't normally leave reviews but since this a much needed new restaurant on the Kanawha River and the only other review was so far from our experience I felt obligated. This is my 2nd visit in a week 1st visit was by myself out on the deck, great view of the river, server was very professional, burritos were great and about twice as much food as I could eat, I didn't read the receipt, but felt my meal was well worth what I paid. Came back tonight with the wife, gave her the tour. Nice new, clean dining areas, excellent bar with 2 bartenders, nice little lounge area, got a donkey you can try your cowboy skills on, little dance floor maybe for future use? Outside deck area is going to be the hotspot this summer, huge overlooking deck on the river, boat dock to hold several boats, tiki bar, Our meal tonight, shrimp and rice dish was awesome! my steak was a little more done then I liked, I was honest when the waiter ask how was everything, he apologized and offered to replace, I was already full so I got a doggie bag. No big deal. Place was not overly busy, but all our neighbors were happy and giving compliments to our waiter. We knew him from another popular Mexican restaurant in the area. “Just passing through Charleston. We were just driving around and not too many places caught our eye. Saw Elephant Thai.... Food was absolutely exceptional. I had the Ginger stir fry with chicken., and some fried rice. Wow, out of this world good. It had onions, peppers, wood ear mushrooms, and chicken along with a side plate of rice. Service was excellent, place was clean, nice music, not loud. Lots of people!! Its already on my list for a return visit on return from travels farther west Again, an absolute hit with me..“

“Cannot say enough amazing things about this resturant. Prices are more than reasonable. You can get a full large meal under $10 with a drink chips and salsa, which is rare nowadays. Everyone is kind and friendly - the food has a genuine home cooked meal feel and taste - and the atmosphere is welcoming.My only complaint is that Pepsi is served here - and I don't drink coffee - so it is hard for me in the beverage department. The Hot Cocoa is delicious - however drinking hot beverages in summer months doesn't appeal to me.“

“Today was probably the 5th or 6th visit that we have made to La Roca's within the past year (always for lunch) and we are always pleased with our experience. The food, the service, the menu, and the atmosphere have all consistently been excellent. I am a vegetarian and I can honestly say the Vegetable Fajitas are among the best I have eaten (the Corn and Zucchini Tacos are yummy as well). The portion was more than ample. In fact,I had enough remaining to take home for another meal. My husband is not a vegetarian and has loved everything that he has ordered (he has never had any leftover to take home!). “LOVE LOVE LOVE their food!!!! I have been here several times and I have enjoyed every experience. I would like to comment on the service, we have to order from a kiosk and keep our ticket number to prove what we paid for, which I understand. The first time I came I didnt know we had to keep the ticket number and when my food was ready it was difficult to prove the food was mine and had to go back and retrieve my order number to show them to recieve my food. After learning from that moment I now keep my ticket every time and would advise anyone who is visiting to KEEP YOUR TICKET lol. And they are low of staff so ultimately I understand why it is that way. Anyways, the food is amazing and I visit almost everytime I am in the south charleston area!“

“This is my Partner and I’s favorite Mexican spot. They have great food and the Texas margaritas in jumbo size are amazing. It’s nice to be able to communicate in Spanish too if you need to. All the staff does an amazing job checking up on you. Highly recommend! I have eaten at several of the different tudors locations around the area! I would usually drive to nitro to eat but this morning i chose Dunbar! And my order the same as usual! The Big Tater! It has almost everything Tudors has to offer! I placed my order for the Big Tater and told them to load it up! Well for once they finally got it right! I havnt had the perfect Big Tater in a few years since a friend of mine left the nitro store! Finally the Dunbar store has the employees that knows what their food is supposed to be when their customer says add an extra sausage and load it all up! “Our group of four stopped in for lunch on our way home from Kentucky back to Virginia. It was an easy stop off the highway. We were seated quickly and the wait staff was great. The food was delicious and came quickly. Very reasonably priced with large portions. The dessert were great as well and they had a very large assortment. I loved how the menu discussed the fact that everything is homemade and made with real ingredients. We would definitely stop in again.“

I was attended to by three different wait staff. They must team together and they were attentive and friendly.I tried a Seafood Delight and it came with all sorts of seafood with veggies: shrimp, scallops, lobster, and sealegs. It was served with brown rice. I prefer white rice and I believe it would have made a tasty dish even better. It was not offered, though.I also tried eel sushi and a spicy tuna and spicy salmon combo roll. Both were very good.The menu is so extensive that I'm going to have to keep coming here! I recommend that you try it if you haven't already. BTW: it's about a 1/2 mile north off of exit 47 (Cross Lanes) from Rt 64. “Very nice restaurant with some nice variations of the standard offerings. The area is a little lackluster but ignore that the food and service.My suggestion is the pineapple shrimp tacos. They are well prepared, topped and presented well. The option of getting sides that are a little uncommon in the local restaurants were nice as well. The black beans were well cooked and seasoned and the street corn was perfect.“
