“Like having dinner with your friends from Mexico. I was working the summer on the interstate. Living in a hotel down the street from this place. Went to dinner there one day. It was so good and the family was amazing. We went there almost every night all summer. I live two hours away from Evanston now, but still make the trip several times a year just to see my friends and have the best Mexican food I have ever had, and I have traveled all over the place. You will not be disappointed. I recommend the the asada smothered burrito.“

“My wife and I were just passing through on our way from Denver to our home in Boise. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Evanston(another review)and asked Weston, the evening clerk at the hotel, where to eat. He recommended the Lincoln Highway Tavern.

We walked in at about 9:40 pm. The kitche closes at 10. We wouldn't have been surprised to be turned away, but the wonderful woman covering the bar and kitchen, forties, glasses, dark hair, was very friendly and gracious. She also took excellent care of us, despite really having to hustle.

I had the pulled pork tacos and my wife had the teriyaki wings. The tacos(I ordered two)were stuffed with pulled pork that was very tasty, and came with crema, a sweet relish salsa, and cheese(a slight upcharge). My tacos came with tortilla chips that were crispy and well salted. My wife liked her wings.

If we're passing through again, we would definitely stay in Evanston and have a meal at Lincoln Highway Tavern.“

“Just had a great buffet Thanksgiving dinner here. Staff were friendly and attentive, very relaxing..and I didn't have to cook.“

“Atmosphere was comfortable, welcoming, and very clean. Our waitress was spectacular. She knew about the beers that were on tap and was able to tell us about each one. The beers on tap were very good. We bought a 64oz Growler to take one of their on taps home to enjoy on another night. Food was okay. Wouldn't go to Suds just for the food. Portions were on the small side. If you are hungry I recommend getting an appetizer before your meal. This is a great place for a date (if connection was more the focal point and not so much the food) or get together with friends and/or family.“
