Restaurants in Yellowstone National Park

“Did not eat here only browsed the store. It was very busy and hard to maneuver through. Not big selection of plus size shirts. Could not find my husband's size. Prices are bit high. Bathrooms small had wait in line for only 2 stalls for huge crowds.”

“This review is for the dining room for dinner, not the hotel or any other meals. My wife and I live in D.C. and decided to try the Lake Lodge dining room after eating at the Old Faithful Inn and at the eatery up in Canyon. The dinner options at Old Faithful were excellent and the food at Canyon was not even 100% edible. So, on our second night in Canyon, we decided to make a reservation and drove down to the Lake Lodge. We were not disappointed, and the food at the Lake Lodge was actually slightly better than at Old Faithful Inn. I would advise people to pretend the buffet doesn't exist and just steer clear of it. Everything we ordered from the a la carte menu was excellent, fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The bottle of wine we ordered was extremely reasonable and was so good we ordered a few more bottles while we were in the park. Our server was exceptional, friendly, professional, and honestly provided us a better overall experience than we generally get in the big city. He was so well-liked that another 4-top specifically requested to sit in his section while we were there. I can't remember his name, but he was from Nevada.

We ate in 3 of Yellowstone's lodge dining rooms during our visit, and we were also pleased that the menus between them all seemed slightly different, but all had the same excellent quality and service. Perhaps some people ate on off-nights, but given the length of our stay and the various times we visited the dining rooms, I didn't notice any deficiencies. I would eat at any of the Yellowstone historic lodge dining rooms with confidence, but the stuff up at Canyon really is pretty terrible, yet it somehow gets better reviews than this restaurant. I'm hoping this review will go a little ways toward remedying that.”

“I mean it's a cafeteria. I wasn't going in expecting a Michelin review on the wall. I had a solid pile of pulled pork and my son had some tasty mac and cheese. The corn on the cob was meh but this place isn't that bad if you're hungry. I went 5 stars because they are way underrated. Prob a 4.1 spot.”

“My wife and I dined here for dinner on our second night at the Old Faithful Inn. The food was different from the Old Faithful Inn dining room, but equally as good, which I appreciated. I would advise people to stay away from buffets when possible inside the park, and try to get to this restaurant before or during an Old Faithful eruption. If you try to go right after, there may be a lot of people doing the exact same thing. The wait for our table was about 30 minutes, but we sat at the bar and had a couple of cocktails before we were seated. The dining menu is not available at the bar for those who are wondering. The game meats were excellent, well-cooked, and well-seasoned. The duck wings were a home run as well. If you're staying in the park, please eat at the dining rooms (Old Faithful Inn, here, and Lake Lodge) - the food is excellent and worth any wait there may be. The fast casual and buffet food in the park is an abomination and I think the reputation of the dining quality is being negatively impacted unnecessarily. The food is either excellent or it is barely food. I don't know why there isn't a middle ground, but that's the way it is. Either way, do not hesitate to eat here if you are staying at Old Faithful for more than 1 night. If you have only 1 night and can make reservations, I would still go to the Old Faithful Inn dining room.”

“Menu is extremely plain, but the quality of food is adequate and the service is prompt enough. It's all counter seating, on stools with no backs. A hostess seats diners but, although the restaurant was full, we were seated within about 5 minutes at lunchtime on a busy day in August.”

“Nice view of the lake. In low season it's the only dinning option for dinner in Grant village as the lake restaurant Is closed and the fmgeneral store hours are very limited. We made reservations for our first night. Food was ok for inside the park but quite pricey. Second day we tried the breakfast buffet and decided we won't return for breakfast. That night upon returning to the village from a lot of day in the park, we found out the general store was closed so we tried the dining room again only this time we haven't made a reservations and they couldn't accommodate us. They suggested we return an hour later and maybe they will be able to. We decided to go to our room and make do with what we have”

“Service from start to finish was fantastic. MariLeigh was an our server & did a great job! Hostess greeted us right away & got us seated in reasonable time. $58 for 2 adult buffet’s. The food was “okay”. The buffet bar itself was way too small for the capacity of the dining room. Thankfully we came at 2:50 pm so the dining room wasn’t full. We still had to wait a while to get food. Can’t imagine what the wait would be if come at busy time.”

You order using a kiosk and the food was ready fast. From the dining room window we saw Elk and a coyote. Also, amazing views of the lake.”
