“We get to experience a lot of the Portland dining scene and we're grateful for that. Every once in a while a place hits different. The food is good, sure. And the drinks are good too. But in Portland for better or worse you're going to get pretty good food and good drinks. The places that hit different have a little bit of magic in them. It's the food. It's the drinks. And often it's an incredible, perfect mix of context and hospitality. We got to experience C'est Si Bon on a night that was our anniversary. The kids were at home with their grandparents. We were in no rush. We were ready to experience a new restaurant. And we just happened to luck out that John, the owner, took care of us. He took us on a tour of his menu, both food and wine, while regaling us with stories from a dozen years in Portland food and beverage and another decade in France. Chef was on point. John was a delight. And we ended up having an experience we couldn't have reserved and would've been unreasonable to hope for. It was a human experience, sprinkled with incredible food and wine along the way. We feel like we just discovered a not-so-secret gem of the Portland food scene a decade after moving to town. “We'll be back” feels like the understatement of the decade. Thanks John and Chef!“

“I make it a point to visit Canard Burnside on all of my trips to Portland! The unique flavors and presentations on their menu keep me coming back for more. Had the roasted beets last night for the first time and the flavor was out of this world.“

“I mean wow, so good. So incredibly good! I didn't realize that Plumb is the kitchen located inside of the bar (Deadshot). It was my first time experiencing something like this (maybe I need to get out more) and it was incredible. The food is made to order so patience is key but luckily theres an amazing bar with handcrafted cocktails to enjoy while you wait. We arrived right at 4pm on Saturday evening and were promptly greeted and seated. We opted for a seat right at the bar. I ordered a red wine and my husband ordered a Deadshot. Then we placed our food order. We ordered the cesar salad, grilled cabbage, burger and steak frites and everything was so incredibly good. Fresh, decadent, perfectly cooked and ever so tasty. Of the items we tried, the cabbage dish was our favorite. I've never had cabbage with bechamel, apples and hazelnuts. It was simply divine! Highly recommend checking this place out!“

“Why are you never open anymore??? This was my favorite place to go wether stopping in for breakfast with a friend or having a romantic dinner with my hunny. So many things are being done right here; the food, the bakery, and the coffee are all equally fabulous. I love that it is a low-key place, but at the same time, it has a great atmosphere of a little French bistro ? also the staff has always been on point!“

“We have been to Bergerac a half dozen times and they never fail. This is a small establishment serving excellent country French cuisine in an unpretentious yet elegant setting. The food and ambience is appropriate for a quiet romantic meal or a fun event with 6 friends. The cassoulet is fabulous as well as the duck confit and rabbit (when on the menu). Appetizer options are many, we have enjoyed the pate plate, beet salad, and of course the escargot.Desserts: love the Il flottante and pot du chocolate.Wine selection is modest but appropriate, ranging from $35 beaujolais to $75 burgundy, enough variety to satisfy. My advice for less hungry eaters is the $55 prix fixe, one do the appetizer and main, the other do the main and dessert. You can’t go wrong with the full prix fixe, portion sizes are generous but not overwhelming. It is possible to order individual dishes, and we have even gone just for a dessert and champagne.Charming restaurant with owners there every night, a real gem.“

“Ate brunch at Mermosa for the first time and it was a blast! First, the space is incredibly bright, cozy and charming, with confortable seating and lots of potted plants that make the atmosphere feel breezy and fresh. Mermosa hosts their Mo Betta' brunch on the weekends, and had a live DJ spinning your favorite R&B and hip hop hits from the '90s and '00s. Service was welcoming and attentive; everyone had a smile on their face and looked like they were having a good time. No Portland pretentiousness here! The food and cocktails were fresh, flavorful, and so beautifully presented my friend and I couldn't help but take pictures before digging in. They make their own fresh hot sauce that was so delicious, I'd happily bathe in it. All in all, Mermosa is a whole, joyous vibe from start to finish. 10/10, highly recommended. I'll be back soon for dinner and wine tasting!“

“We had the pleasure of dining at Bar Alder this last Saturday before our show. The Bartender, I think his name was Matt, was really great and the cucumber cocktail he made was amazing! The inside of this restaurant is so beautiful. I don’t know why we have never been here before. The food was tasty as well. We had the poppers and hummus which were good, but the confit chick leg was amazing! So crispy with a tangy glaze. I could have had 4 of them! We also had the chickpea cakes. That was a delicious vegan dish. Thanks Bar Alder! We will be back.“

“Had an evening food tasting here - there were several courses of delicious food provided with the experience. We added on the apple cider vinegar drink, which was the right choice to warm us up for the winter food tasting.Although I had noted with my booking that I'm gluten-free, they brought me a few courses with gluten. I had to keep checking and waiting for a revised course to be provided when the mistake was made. If you have a food sensitivity/allergy, keep this in mind and make sure you check with each serving/meal.If you do a group booking, make sure to let them know you want separate servings as they were bringing us one plate for each course for our group, until we asked them to bring us separate ones. Considering the food tasting is an expensive experience and they charge per person, this was the first time I was brought a single plate/serving for a group booking.“
