Dairy Queen in Calgary

“This is Best Dairy Queen, maybe even best fast food restaurant in Calgary. The staff are always extremely nice and actually want to take your order. The food always tastes great, and I am never disappointed when I come to this location. The amount they give you for the small blizzard is the same as the medium blizzard from a certain location that I will not name. Nice place to sit down and amazing environment. There’s nothing I would ask of this location, no room for improvement. 5/5, would be higher but that’s all I can give.“

“I’m pretty sure that this is my first ever review but I really felt like I had to share my experience here. I got here at around 7:15 at night after finishing my shift at shouldice aquatic center and came right over to come and get dinner. It looked like they were cleaning out teaching a new employee how to clean. The older woman with the red hair immediately came to take my order. I sat down and literally 3 minutes later she came out with it. At the time I was sitting at a small two person table because it was just me eating there and it wasn’t very busy (one other table) and I didn’t feel like making a big mess at the table while they were obviously cleaning. When she walked over, she joked about if I could find a smaller table and then instructed me to come sit at the booth and to “ really lounge out”. I don’t think I have ever had this type of positive reaction in any other restaurant or with any other server, hence this being my first review. I ordered the bacon two cheese deluxe which was incredible and made it a combo and got fries and a drink. The fries were quite hot to begin with however when I finished my burger, they were at the perfect temperature, and I even got some really long ones. Overall incredible experience and would definitely recommend and be back!“

“I came in this evening to take advantage of the $2 blizzard. Unfortunately my app had locked me out and I was having. a frustrating time getting the coupon. My children patiently waited while I was having a mini panic. I asked the manager to help me and he agreed to honour the coupon even though I couldnt produce it on my app. I am really thankful for this simple act to me, it saved me from embarrassment infont of my kids.

“We took a quick trip into DQ for some dessert. always good service and helpful staff! Food was good. We had blizzards all around. It wasn’t too busy considering it was a nice warm Saturday evening. We would come back again!

Ukrainian with the brown hair was so sweet and kind was a little taken back when another employee a boy was extremely rude to her when she realized that the blizzard was a large but was given a small and asked him to remake it in the large. I don’t write reviews often but being someone who worked in customer service it made me really upset to see how she was treated.“

“I came by for a chili dog and an ice cream, and I must say how impressed I was with the fellow behind the counter. When I walked up he immediately dropped whwt he was doing to take my order. He was quick witted like a classy bar tender, and despite being out of chili he suggested bacon bits on the dog that were just about as good. He got to work right away after the order and went right back to the cleaning he was doing before I got there.I didn't catch his name but you could tell this guy seriously take pride in his work and he's hot a generous nature.It was a unique and personable experience, definitely not what I'd expect from a large franchise restauraunt like DQ. 10/10“

“I drive past 3 dairy queens, from New Brighton to go to this specific Dairy Queen for the last 5 years since living in the South end of calgary.

They actually have the dome blizzard lids which is key, secondly they actually make extra ice cream and give you the quality you pay for, I’ve never had to ask for extra toppings or properly blended cause they just know how to ROCK there job!

This Dairy Queen has been my go to for years, and as long as they continue to put out quality I’ll keep spending money there! Please do not stop what you’re doing. Your staff is polite and your portions and quality have been paramount. Your team are absolute ROCKSTARS!“

“I recently pre-ordered a cake from Dairy Queen Evanston for my partner's 30th birthday, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. I emailed a picture for the cake design 3 days in advance, not really knowing how it would turn out. When I picked up the cake, I was absolutely blown away - it was the most beautifully decorated cake I've ever ordered. My partner was thrilled, and we both loved how it looked and tasted. “This is the most consistent Dairy Queen in the city
Every time I go here, I definitely know I’m going to get what I pay for.

the last few Dairy Queen’s that I have gone to put a soft drink cap on top of their blizzards but not this location I value this location. The staff is super nice.

I go out of my way to come from Cranston to this location specifically because they always seem to maintain consistency out of all of Dairy Queen I go to.

“Only have gone through the drive-thru but everytime I've ordered icecream or fries its always been good. The fries are always made fresh which I like, they come out hot and crispy. Haven't tried any of their other food so can't comment on that.“

“I cannot commend this location enough! We (kid you not) drive across the city to get our ice cream cakes from this location. They always do a phenomenal job and actually still pipe pictures on the cakes with piping gel. We always tell them to be creative and we get the best cakes here. Our local store has gone to printed images, and premade royal icing decorations out of a box. So when we need an ice cream cake, this is the only store in Calgary we go to.“

“I've been getting my daughter's ice cream cake here almost every year for ten years. Yes the decor it's a little dated but it's retro, yes the food is dependant on which staff is working but what place isn't like that. The best part about this location is the friendly staff. I've never had any real issues and when one comes up, this staff is quick to find a solution. Just wish we still lived in the NW. Thank you for all the great cakes!

Parking: The parking spots are tight for newer cars and people often struggle, so watch your surroundings and be careful. Seen plenty of cars scuffed up because they didn't take into account how narrow the whole place is.“

“Large place compared to other DQs in the city, fast delivery, usual DQ goodness. Friendly and patient staff at the register. The fries were a little crisper than the usual floppy ones, great! One missing thing was sound. You'd think you were in a library. Good respite from xmassy music available everywhere, but some muted tropical sounds or tunes might attract more customers and get us in the mood for frozen tasty froth.“

“Little bit of a story .. tried going online to order a custom cake and was within the 2 day ordering needed but the calendar online would not give me the option of the day I wanted to pick up so I called the store but did not get the name of the lady who I spoke to. She went ABOVE and beyond what I was hoping for. She noted the time and day I would be coming to pick up the cake. Stayed on the phone while I uploaded the photo of what I wanted on the cake till she received it. Confirmed everything at the end of the conversation.Gave feedback via email on the coloring of the icing to go on the cake for the best look and the cake looked amazing upon pick up !! “Been coming once a week to this DQ with my grandson . Also we live about 1/2 a block away . He loves their burgers and I also love the special Hamburger and fry for $6 . Over the years have tried lots of options . EVERYTIME … they’ve been great in Service and taste ! BIGTIME spot for the Locals as one . “Nice staff. They weren't knowledgeable about the ability to upgrade beverages to Blizzards with combos, which is something other locations can handle. Also, the ladies bathroom is designed so that one stall can see into the other pretty well. Other than that, it's a good location.“

“Went here multiple times in 2024. Friendly staff and quick service. Sometimes the amount of toppings can vary from order to order.

Dietary restrictions: If you have an allergy you can ask them to clean the blizzard machine, but that might not be enough for some if severe.“

“Queen of Vanilla Sundae.
If one craves for the typical vanilla sundae cone, no need to go anywhere else but the Queen.
Sundae is consistently good, creamy and balanced here. They are one of experts when it comes to ice creams after all. Too bad that they don’t have coffee flavored ones even in their Blizzard line up here in Calgary. Nevertheless, it’s good.

“For years we’ve had ice cream here and the staff have always been so friendly! Lately, we’ve been having a DQ treat with our grand-daughters at this mall location. Everything from a simple cone to their sundaes are so good and delicious!“

“This dq doesn’t accept dq‘s mobile app’s points, cause they don’t have anything to scan the barcode on your phone with. But apart from that, had great service and they were very nice and gave us caps and a carrying tray for our blizzards.“

“I was waiting for my wife in the mall this afternoon to get her hair done. I decided to grab a quick drink while I waited. I want to give a big shout out for the young man serving us. As I lined up, I noticed that he was the only one working. Even though there was a line, he never got rushed or flustered. When it was my turn to order, he calmly asked how he could help me. I gave him my order for a Julius and he proceeded to make the drink correctly and quickly. I asked him if he was all alone there and he replied yes but that is fine. Never a complaint or a negative word. He had a right to be as some customers were less than polite to him. Great employee and deserves to be recognized ?“

“Despite some of the negative reviews, I’ve personally never had a bad experience at this Dairy Queen. I don’t visit often, usually stopping by with my son just for an Oreo Blizzard or to order custom cakes for birthdays, but every time, the customer service has been great. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The last time I was there, I had my 2-year-old in my arms, and they kindly carried my cake to the car for me. It’s those little things that make the difference.“

“Staff is lovely here, these kids all work really hard. I hope they are receiving fair compensation for the late hours and having to almost be working alone. Location has been closed a couple times during listed open hours from what I can only assume is them being terribly understaffed, but I've always gotten my orders promptly and they have always been correct. I've gone to this location since I was a child so even as staff changes I'd like to continue supporting it as long as their head office gives them the support they need as well.“
