“What a beautiful place, so pretty! My friend and I had a wonderful lunch together. I have a problem with gluten, we shared the whipped ricotta (like silk with honey) and they made me a delicious gluten free bread, my friend got the real bread that looked amazing. Then I had a gluten free pasta with seafood, it was perfect. The service was unobtrusive and professional, helpful and gave options. We shared a beautiful Pinot noir and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

The food is always spot-on, and the gnocchi is hands-down the best in Calgary. Light, pillowy, and full of flavour. The atmosphere is warm and familiar, and Franca herself often pops by to say hello, which makes the experience feel personal in a way that’s hard to find these days. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, without being over the top. “This place is amazing. We first had aperitivo, then pasta and finally dessert. Everything was simply amazing. Aperitivo we had arancini and meatballs with Aperol Spritz, great price on the happy hour menu and wow that tomato sauce was amazing!! The pasta fileja was so delicious, we ordered one boscaiola and one with nduja, both excellent!!! Dessert - tiramisu and bombolone gelato, paired with the suggested cocktails, another success! The whole experience was so good that I can’t wait to be back and try something else. Also the servers were amazing and Biagio very friendly! Perfect date!! Grazie! 🙏“

“ordered the Rosé Pasta, and it was absolutely perfect—creamy, flavourful, and cooked just right. The Garlic Bread Sticks were warm, buttery, and had the perfect crunch on the outside. I also had a side of French Fries—crispy, golden, and not greasy at all. To top it all off, I tried the Mango Italian Soda, which was so refreshing and unique! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Everything came out quickly and tasted fresh. Highly recommend this location if you're craving Italian with a modern twist. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

The pizza is really good, lots of toppings and we'll priced. The burgers and other items I have tried are also great.

“The food and service was very good - wine selection is excellent (house red is better than at most other places I've dined). Although I did not partake of the bread bar, I will most certainly do so next time. The light level is very bright and even though it was not busy the noise level was higher than what I would have expected. By my standards, music in a restaurant should be in the background. I was only there for a quick meal and had the Chicken Parm sandwich with Italian salad on the side. It was very good.“

Sid pays particular attention to our needs, making suggestions, and making us feel welcome with his cheerful disposition and interesting conversation. “What a great night out at Mercato, we had excellent service at the Kitchen bar, albeit temp gets hot, but seeing the chefs in their element is an amazing experience! We enjoyed our drinks and every mouth watering shareable dish we ordered did not disappoint! “Ok it’s a hole in the wall but this was our family’s favourite restaurant when we lived in Calgary. My daughter still craves Hanni’s pizza, my wife still talks about the hummus plate and I loved every pasta dish they made. Service was very homey and attentive, food came quickly and we never had a bad meal there.“

We shared a green salad followed by pollo supreme and gnocchi gargonzola with prawns, both delicious and all washed down with a lovely Barolo. Dessert was melt in your mouth goodness. “Buon Giorno has always been a family favourite. The new location is great. The new place has both the main dining room upstairs with similar decor to the old place, as well as a downstairs dining room which was much quieter. Our server, Michael, made our dining experience delightful. He was entertaining and efficient. The only downside was that, on a busy evening, we did have to wait an exceptionally long time for our food to arrive. When our food did arrive, it was piping hot and delicious as always. This indicates to me that, for times like these, more kitchen staff is needed to service the enlarged facility.“
