I believe the owners are a family, in operation for about 2 years and you can really tell from their warm conversations that love goes into the food. Don’t know if it’s fair to say “service” or “atmosphere” or if it should just be called “the passion” expressing itself but you feel the hard work and enjoy the food more. The atmosphere was beyond any expectations as a result. Overall, the experience feels very genuine, making this my favorite place to eat in Edmonton right now. I am compelled by my first time here to highly recommend Pharaohs Restaurant—it’s a must-try.

The menu is small but well-chosen, all of what you would expect and want to eat in the genre of three cuisines, so everything is made just right. We ordered the platter for 2-3 people, but honestly, it’s enough for three. They did warn us and explained everything clearly, that you’ll want to save room for dessert. We were too full to enjoy dessert properly because each dish was so good—you’ll want to savor each one! Still, that just means you'll have to come back and try more and fit dessert. The Italian is woven in and fantastic! It’s a true fusion that stays true to its roots, without sacrificing authenticity. I’ve had good Greek food and homemade Egyptian dishes before, but I didn’t expect them to blend together so seamlessly. This is not Michelin Star but not your everyday home cooking either.

I know I have hyped it up and I clearly enjoyed it but it deserves this level of extended review even just for the next aspect I want to highlight. The cozy, authentic vibe is hard to find after the pandemic changed how many restaurants operate, but this one really stands out as what I only now innately remember was an excellent dine in experience pre-pandemic. Almost would not mind being stuck anymore on Gateway and Calgary Trail knowing I can just eat dinner here! The options in this part of town have not disappointed and many deserve a visit - but this one most of all.

“Healthy portions. I started with Kim chi (and a side of rice because usually the Kim chi usually needs a starch to tame the spice). Well the Kim chi was delicious all by itself. I ate the rice anyway and basically spoiled my appetite for the color bowl. Lesson learned.“

“I love this place! The food is amazing here, and I always choose the buffet. I brought my friend here recently who also fell in love with the restaurant. I really love the low, dimly lit, ambient lighting. The music is nice, and is at a nice level so that you can still conversate. All of these things create a wonderful and authentic atmosphere. I have at times had waiters forget to bring stuff but, it can be understandable because it can get very busy at certain times. When a large event is happing it is especially loud. I've always tried to come on weekdays to avoid this but the food never disappoints regardless.“

“MEAT is a well-known spot in Edmonton, and I’ve been here several times over the years. I usually go for the beef brisket or the ribs, both solid choices. I also recommend the mac & cheese or a jumbo pickle on the side—something about their mac & cheese just hits right every time, and clearly I’m not the only one who thinks so.

I will say the ribs can be a bit hit-or-miss. There have been times they came out more crispy than expected, almost burnt, while other visits they were cooked perfectly. It really seems to depend on the day.
Overall, still a reliable place to grab barbecue, and when they’re on point, it’s great.“

This bakery has deserts that are not only gluten free but won’t make you feel nauseous or sick just from eating 2 danishes. Screw Tim Hortons, crumble and other bakeries because this bakery is the best alternative for healthy sweets, lunch and dinner. I used to go to a donut shop and get some sweets every now and then . Since i discovered this last year i been coming here every week before work to get everything my wallet will allow me to get.
