“We really enjoyed ourselves tonight, we had the wings which were so good. We had the Broccoli bites yummy.I had the French dip and Pountine homemade fries were so good.Hubby had the baggers and mash very good. The pool table was great 2 bucks a game coin operated. But is in really good shape.Would definitely go again.“
“Been to this location multiple times and the food is always fresh, the beer is always cold and fresh and the service is great! Never disappointed with our experience. The only reason why I'm giving not 5 stars for the food is because I feel the butter chicken could have had more chicken. Everything else I've gotten there had great portions. Was still tasty though!“
“I try to eat vegan and I went here thinking I was definitely going to eat meat or at the very least fish. I was so surprised they had two vegan dishes on the menu. I decided to try the shepherds pie. It was delicious! I’m definitely going back to try the meatloaf!“
“They were extremely accommodating! It was a special occasion and the food and company was extraordinaire ! Highly recommend ❤️Service was spectacular! Our waitress cut his arm he was bandaged up and continued on excellent waiter! He made it extra special! There was a mix up without reservation! Front staff really helped and were very accommodating ❤️Highly recommend❤️❤️❤️“
“Greta is a fun atmosphere if you want something a little different from sitting around on a pub. The arcade games are great!Service during peak hours is mediocre, but it was a Saturday night, so I can't be too upset about it.Also, if you're in your 30s or older you immediately feel old balls.“
“I went for the first time last night, and the vibe was so amazing and a great girls night or date night spot. The service was incredible - when they found out I just got engaged they went above and beyond! Highly recommend this place to everyone, they have different weekly specials too.“
“The food and service here was fantastic. We came for the lunch buffet and there were plenty of options and every dish tasted delicious. Purvi was our server and she was kind and attentive. We had fresh naan and roti served to us, as well as a fountain drink included with the buffet price. We don’t have many good Indian food options up north so this was a treat. Thank you for the yummy food and hospitality!!!“
“One of our all time favourite neighbourhood spots! The TNT pressed sushi, shaka shaka fries, agedashi tofu, and sashimi are our all time faves — you gotta get the fries!!! We’ve become regulars at Dorinku over the years & it has a special place in our hearts. Always the best vibes & best servers - Hi Sarah!!“
“We tried a new restaurant last night and it was fantastic! I love Ethiopian food, and wanted to try a place I hadn’t been to before. First thing to note is that the word “Bete” is not the french word “bête,” meaning “beast” (as in animal). It is an Amharic word meaning house, similar to “Beth” in Hebrew and “bayt” in Arabic, as I was told. All this just to clarify that the restaurant’s name is more closely translated as “Africa House,” not “African Beast,” which I ignorantly thought prior to learning this from the owners. We told the host that it was our first time there and that we were willing and eager to learn from him and try new things. He was very helpful and guided us though the menu. Before making a decision, we noticed that some other guests were eating fresh banana with their injera (the ubiquitous crêpe-like sourdough bread served with virtually all dishes), which piqued our interest, Lindsay in particular. When we asked which dishes came with banana, he laughed and told us that they don’t serve bananas, and it’s a common way of eating injera for Somalians, and that those guys arrived with their own banana. Apparently this is a BYOB restaurant. So, with no bananas to be had for us, we decided that the $99 mixed plate was the way to go. As you can see, there is a wide variety of food in this dish. In the middle, ground beef topped with their homemade cheese (similar in texture to feta, not as strong in taste, yet oh so fresh). At first, I was convinced there was mint in this, then I realized it was rosemary. It made it very refreshing. Bottom left is a perfectly spicy lamb tibs in the most delicious red sauce. Next to that is a mild lamb tibs that was juicy and yummy, with a couple jalapeño accents just for fun. To the right was a fried beef strip dish with onions called cha-cha tibs. Up top, a variety of lentil and chickpea mashes, plus pickled beets and cabbage. We ate like the locals, with our hands, using small torn off pieces of injera as temporary, edible utensils, and were endlessly satisfied as we worked our way around the platter. The only problem was, we just couldn’t finish it, so we ended up with a takeaway box of a couple pounds of leftovers (aw, shucks). We had a wonderful conversation with the husband and wife team, who shared so much about their culture, including the beautiful artwork and artifacts throughout the space. We even got to meet their baby, who, I am proud to say, reached out for me to hold her. She was adorable! We also learned that the wife occasionally offers cooking courses. Would you be surprised to learn that my name is on the waiting list? One can’t help but salivate I’m thinking about such a culinary experience. I wish I had discovered it sooner, despite having driven past it countless times (it’s on 111 Avenue across from Tony’s pizza). To be honest, it’s not the classiest part of town (I reported a needle to 311 on our way out), so if you’re leery of that sort of thing, now is the time to get over it and see what rewards await you when you step outside your social and gastronomical comfort zones. Just be sure to invite me along when you do.“
“1000x better than the old scuz bar in the Strat. All the decor was fun to look at and made for fun convo.... plus some inspiration for my own basement.Decent cocktails for a tavern. Lots of fun poutine options.Kid-friendliness: Kids are allowed until 8pm“
“I’ve been to Honi Honi several times and always had an amazing time. Honestly the best drinks I’ve had in Edmonton, and they certainly don’t skimp on the alcohol. It’s a lot of fun, the service is always top notch. I find the design and decor to be lots of fun.The food has always been sub par in my opinion, but I don’t let that reflect on them as it’s from the place next door. The last time I went it did seem to improve though.Painkillers are my absolute favourite and I look forward to going back“
“I've been to Tavern on Whyte a few times and it's one of my favorite places in Edmonton! The atmosphere is always upbeat and fun, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend trying the Tavern Caesar - it's a meal in itself! The staff is also super friendly and attentive.“
“Slow Pour is a bit of a hidden gem. Located on 122 street, it could be easy to miss with its non-descript exterior. However, the inside is simply decorated and comfortable. It is a the great place for a date night or a couple drinks with friends. Drinks can be ordered at the bar and will be brought to your table. They have a great list of Alberta craft beers on their menu as well as wine, cider, and snacks. I really enjoyed the Cabin Scottishish the last time I visited. I was especially impressed by how many non-alcoholic options they offer. I'm always on the lookout for places where all of my friends can feel welcome so that goes a long way.“
“We recently ordered take out from the McTaggart location. The kalamari was excellent. Plenty, tasty, and easy to chew. The pho soups were delicious, the beef bone broth was very tasty. Only the onion cakes were a disappointment, mostly bread, not much onion and not much taste. We will definitely be back.“
“my late husband karaoked me ' amazed by Lonestar there about a month after we were seeing b each other. Bob Dubas I shall never forget nor will I ever forget him! He was & still is & will be a major part of my & ( our cat bonkers ) life & will be until we meet again which we most definitely will!!! I love you Bob & will be waiting for you!!!“
“We have been to the Keg many times and the service and food is usually excellent. Unfortunately the food this visit was poor. Both steaks were tough and not enjoyable, one so tough that it was left for the garbage. The Keg has always been a family favourite so hopefully this was a one time disappointment. We will try again someday and hope for better food quality.“
“Fun bar with a limited but delicious menu! I had Jerk wings that were so spicy, just how I like them. Others had sandwiches and a charcuterie board and the reviews were all very positive. There are cocktails to try as well. If you like Ceasars, I recommend the Dark Emporer a unique take on the drink. Had a great time chatting and visiting with our friends, and meeting new people too. The server was attentive and friendly.“
“I come for their Bulldog and the outdoor patio to soak in the sun while having a refreshing cocktail. For a healthier option, dragon boat lettuce wraps is excellent . Great service by Jasmine, friendly..polite and efficient. It’s our happy hour venue for the summer and will be back again.“
“The Saturday Afternoon jam starts at 3. If you are looking for a great experience I highly recommend wearing your dancing shoes. High energy, good people, great music, and they also have 2 pool tables and a vlt bar. The only thing that prevents me from giving them 5 stars is the price of their liquor.“
“High Note Bar and Grill. Fun place to hang out. Live music many nights with a good sampling of the great talent in and around Edmonton. Our band, joe Ireland band, played High Note recently. Great sound system and stage. The staff and owners are very easy to deal with and provide a perfect place for acts to showcase their talent. They promote well and are actively involved in the show making sure everything is in order. Cheap beer, good grub and the owners and staff are super duper folks. Pool tables, Vlts. Always a good bunch hanging out at High Note. Lots of parking. Check out the place. It’s more then a bar. It’s a comfortable safe place to have a beer and a bite and play. Get there!“
“It's been such a long time since I last went to Vons. But tonight, when I stepped into their "new" Jasper location, they really reminded me of why I used to love going there. My girlfriend had never been to Vons so I wanted to take her out on a special date night. She very much enjoyed the night and will likely come back with her friends. Alan, our server, was very much enjoyable to speak with and professional. Would definitely come back because of him and the food.Unfortunately the table adjacent to us wasn’t really fond with their service. I will say this, this is not your typical franchise steakhouse. Be prepared to spend some $. The behavior exhibited by the guests was utterly appalling and reeked of a sense of entitlement because of THEIR mistake. I really have to disagree with the idea that the customer is always right. It's just not accurate in my opinion. In any situation, it's crucial to consider multiple perspectives before passing judgment. I highly recommend giving Vons Steakhouse a try before making any conclusions.Parking: Paid surface lot on the south side of building. There is also street parking available during certain times. Near by parkades if you would like to park underground.“
“Let me preface this by saying the boys behind the bar were phenomenal. Great bartenders. Waitresses were a little aimless, but busy. I say aimless as I’ve been a GM so long, and I hate seeing chit chat on the floor between employees and saw a lot of empty hands. Coming out of the back of house: empty handed. Going into the restaurant from the patio: empty handed. Not helping each other run drinks while the bartender is doing his best to mix for them. My biggest concern was being embarrassed that I could leave an 18% tip not a 22% tip. As the place doesn’t take debit only credit. So I paid over $3 in service fees just to pay them the bill. I have never seen this in my life. Nothing personal. But it left a gnarly taste in my mouth and felt scamy.I came alone. Had nachos and salsa. Big fish burger and fries. And a couple drinks. Food: great. Drinks: better. Bartenders: amazing. Waitresses: good enough. Debit system: non existent. Please don’t make it difficult to pay your staff. And please don’t add a service fee to just pay the bill.“
“VERY GREAT STAFFS! MUSIC IS ALWAYS AWESOME. SERVICES IS ON TIME, VERY FRIENDLY ALSO! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR A SATURDAY NIGHT OUT WITH FRIENDS!IF YOUR LOOKING TO HAVE FUN, I'D SUGGEST YOU GO TO THE LUXX WHERE THE PARTY NEVER DIES. DRINKS ARE AFFORDABLE ALSO!“
“I was in Edmonton on the 4th Feb, was looking to go O'Bryne's Irish Pub, but it was closed Sunday, the the group chose to go to The Mash. This place served Craft beers and Pizza, I ordered the all meat pizza, delicious and the Papa Bear beer also good, the girls in the group ordered the Dill pickle pizza and bacon, and they were truly amazed at how good it was. Ashley our server was wonderful, polite and friendly, she gave us a rundown on the menu and the beers, service was quick, I will definitely go back again when i fly back to Edmonton and partake in Happy hour.“
“Was in the Cask & Barrel last night. What a wonderful experience for me and my friends. A staff member who wasn’t even on shift was doing table service making old fashion cocktails for customers purely to enhance the experience of being there. It’s a modern take on a ‘Cheers’ experience with what were obviously many regulars, in itself a sign of a great bar. Going back today for their Garage Session free live music - today with a Juno award winning band.1“
“I had the pleasure of visiting The Bower this past weekend for a friends 40th birthday party and I must say it was phenomenal to see this place so busy and well attended. As a non drinker the bartenders and staff were super considerate to my needs and made me feel welcome the whole night. The room is very well manicured and has a very intimate vibe. The music was banging as I remember it 15+ years ago. Kudos to Blair and his staff for an amazing evening and wishing them continued success.“
“I truly enjoyed the spicy beef tibs, which came in a flavourful selection of regular, mild or spicy. These authentic African plates, were truly delicious, which made it hard to choose due to the sound of the menu alone. These various plates can be pair with rice or pasta options. The authentic Ethiopian injera moist flat bread which is scrumptious and should be used to scoop your food will leave you wanting to order again.Vegetarian options: Vegan plates to accommodate your plant based food options and needs“
“I would come here while I was in school for my apprenticeship and the wings here are super good and excellent especially on wing Wednesday when we would go to the bar for wings and a beer! The service was very good considering the amount of people that were always in the bar on Wednesday! The prices were amazing as well! I will definitely be back once I go back to school again“
“The grilled chicken caesar salad is not only delicious but comes in a generous portion size. While most restaurants practice shrinkflation these days, I'm happy to see that Original Joe's continues to prioritize customer satisfaction and not cut corners. The croutons were the perfect texture (just the way I like them!), the lettuce was crispy and fresh, and I loved the extra flavors from the bacon and parmesan. I will definitely be coming back!“
“Nice little pub. Having come from out of town, we were looking for somewhere to play pool. The atmosphere is great. The music was at a reasonable level so you could still talk. The bartender was friendly, and very helpful. I also love how it has 6 lanes of dart boards and 4 pool tables that are spaced far enough apart to play comfortably. If I ever come back to Edmonton, this will be the place I go.“
“Immediately on my first visit I was greeted by the super kind and friendly bartender Eryn(hope I didn't mess up the spelling too bad). Then one of the regulars introduced themselves in the true "Newfie" manner. We had a great time visiting with all the regulars. Will definitely stop in again when we are in the area!!!!!P.S. They have live music too!Parking: Lots available right out front!Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the main floor with a large entrance way.“
“I like to come to this bar when I’m in the area of Nait or while I’m in school the food here is excellent and the service is really good! I strongly recommend anyone who is in this area go here to eat lunch or dinner I have yet to try the breakfast menu but the food is excellent! Super nice to all Nait students as “
“The dishes were wonderful. We got the truffle and rubbed cowboy steaks, oyster rockefeller, and brussels sprouts. All were very delicious. Our table was luckily taken care by sweet Alexis. She was so thoughtful and considerate. Couldn’t be more satisfied with the excellent service. Highly recommend!“
“It was excellent service, the food was fantastic (First time having the Flatboy Burgers). Not sure who she was, but the lady security at the Stage Right VIP was so lovely and kind. The servers were constantly checking on myself and my friend if we wanted any food or drink throughout the night. I cannot thank Midway enough. (Oh - and Alestorm were fantastic!)“
“I absolutely love coming in. The servers are incredible and so friendly. It’s my favourite local hang out. I love the food here and look forward to my snacks. They have Coke Zero on the soda gun. It’s my absolute favourite.Kid-friendliness: They are always joking with my kids and making them feel special.“
“After a slight mix up with my order the staff really went above and beyond to not only correct it by remaking my order, but to also make sure I was taken care of. Even when I said that they really didn't have to and that I'd take it as is.“
“Came during the day for a coffee because the cafes were closed and I needed to get out of the rain. They have a good food menu and they operate in tandem with the restaurant next door. The owner and staff were super friendly, gave me coffee on the house and free refills (I didn't even realize until after I left). The food was delicious and they were super friendly even though I didn't buy any alcohol this time. Made my day, I'd go back any day for a drink.“
“Ignore the 1 star reviews.. they're from social media warriors that have this place confused with a bar in whitecourt and instead of doing any research, they bombard this business with their garbage. This is a busy neighborhood pub that has good food and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is welcome. The reviewers need to get off reddit and leave their basements every once in awhile, pay them no mind.“
“Haven't been there in 20 years... we went on a Thursday for their free stand-up comedy show down stairs... when I opened the door, it was like I stepped back in time. It felt and looked like it did when my friends and I would hang out there all night long. So I had to have a beer at the bar before going down to the show. And the comedy show was great. So many funny people. We will definitely be going back“
“Well, sugar, let me regale you with the tale of my splendid time at Dewey's, the charming bar on the University of Alberta Campus. My hip might not be what it used to be, but that didn't stop me from waltzing into this haven of joy.First off, the Irish red at Dewey's is truly divine, dearie. Sipped it like it was the nectar of the gods, and let me tell you, it made my old bones feel a tad sprightlier. Now, brace yourself for the fun part – I played pool with a bunch of fine young men studying in the institution of engineering (Hunky!). Oh, my stars! Those lads were as charming as a summer breeze, and we laughed and jested like old pals. But let me shine the spotlight on Emma, our angelic waitress. Bless her heart, she fluttered around like a butterfly, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our smiles never faded. Emma, that dear, made this old lady feel like royalty, attending to our every need with a grace that warmed my heart.Dewey's, with its Irish red, pool-playing hunks, and the delightful Emma, is more than just a bar; it's a haven of merriment and camaraderie. This old gal found a slice of paradise right there on the University of Alberta Campus. Cheers to Dewey's!“
“James was such a good vibe he brought me and my friends in out of the cold and gave us drink tickets. The dance floor was awesome too and great music that we danced and sang our hearts out. Shout out to Tonya who gave us free drinks for being swifties, love “
“I just wanted to go out of the hotel to eat, and I suddenly saw this restaurant. At first sight it was a good ambiance place to eat. But the thing is how good and delicious the food they make and how the food is presentable, definitely will come back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!! ??????“
“Amazing first time at Rocky Mountain Ice house! originally went to cask & barrel and the waitress recommended to go here for the larger menu. our server was absolutely the best. they have the best crab cakes I've ever had! Not overcooked, not burnt or greasy and perfect portion for the price. I also had the pork belly with the smashed potatoes, holy smokes were they delicious! my date had the Southern fried chicken and the mac and cheese. the only thing I recommend is the mac and cheese needs to be cheesier! so nice to have a slice of watermelon on the side. the watermelon Caesar salad is also really really good!! Definitely coming back.“
“The Alchemy bar offers an exquisite experience with its astounding cocktails that tantalize the senses. Vally and Ren, the standout bartenders, elevate the experience with their expertise and charisma. Their artistry in mixology is unparalleled, crafting drinks that are both innovative and delicious. Their passion shines through in every creation, delivering not just beverages but an unforgettable journey. Alchemy bar is a haven for cocktail enthusiasts, where exceptional drinks and the mastery of Vally and Ren combine to create a truly remarkable outing.“
“This is such a great place, my friend's and l have always had a bangin time here! Staff are friendly, management is amazing, Kelsey always shows top notch hospitality and is a complete sweetheart, there's always a party when Coles's working, can't say enough good about this place!“
“The most amazing atmosphere and filled with the most lovely staff and regulars who make the spirit of this place SO positive, uplifting, and safe. I feel like I can be myself here, whether that's outgoing, loud, silly, anything. It's a space where tons of different people come together and suddenly everyone is welcome. If the world was more like Gracie's, we might have world peace. I feel welcomed as a friend instead of a patron. At karaoke nights, even if you're the worst singer of the night, you are valued, and cheered on. It's about fun and happiness here, no judgement. It's also a safe LGBT+ space. I appreciate that. Thanks so much for making such an inviting space.Ps, drinks are lovely, there is no food served so eat before or bring a snack, parking is limited but there is street parking around the corner, and dancing is always an option if you want to get jazzy! (I know some karaoke is singing only, not here!)“
