“Great spot for small bites and an intimate drink. The exceptional hospitality provided by Tristan during my visits is deeply missed, and I am saddened to learn of his departure. The weekly tradition of Tuesday evenings at Henry was truly a highlight of my week. I highly valued the warmth and attentiveness of his service, and I consistently felt well-cared for.“

“Came specifically for Pilsner Urquell from the proper Czech Lukr taps, and this place delivered.
If visiting Czechia has ruined beer for you or you want to know why they have the best beer in the world, (it's the taps) stop in for a mug. Don't forget to chug a mliko first.“

“Have been to this location twice now while on holiday from Saskatoon. Leopolds Broadway in Saskatoon is my spot of choice and while in Edmonton Strathcona is a home away from home. My bartender was fantastic , she was very attentive and even open to banter about the ridiculous virtual golf league on the tv. 10/10 recommend as a sober person !“
“Great place for live music. If you like music with more rock, metal and punk flair with touches of grunge and glam, The Dive Bar is your place !!“

“Venue is intimate with a good vibe. Sound and light quality was excellent, bar service was quick with a decent selection and better pricing than I've seen in other venues and cities. Staff is professional and friendly. If you're coming from out of town to see a band here, it's conveniently located with lots of amenities and places to stay in the area“

“OJ’s is a more “go at your own pace” sort of joint. You seat yourself, and you are left along most of the night. The server would defintely assist yoy whenever you need it, but it is not like an earls where they are constantly coming over, filling your water, checking in. The food was quite great and they have quite an extensive menu, lots of drinks and “Happy Hour every Day”. They have different deals for each day. There inside is very nice, more of a rustic feel, also very big, a stocked bar and a patio, the patio gives me a vibe of a German beer garden; but definitely great for people who appreciate thatt vibe. It’s in a great spot, right off of 102.“

“Opus is a great little pub with pool tables and lots of dart boards. The food is good, they have decent wings, and the pizza was tasty too. We were super impressed with the bartender Michelle, she was doing 5 things at once and still managed to be attentive to customers and check in on us at the table when we were eating. She was a pleasure to deal with, her attitude and smile are infectious! We will definitely come back another Saturday night to play darts and get some wings!“

“I booked a reservation for our anniversary thru open table, but somehow it reserved a table - at the Prince George restaurant…after speaking to the manager, Stefan, he sat us in the lounge at a nice table by the fireplace, gave us a couple of drinks on the house, and had a great steak dinner, then got a delicious dessert( on the house)… I just want to thank Stefan, our server and the rest of the staff for making our night out a success… Taras Pyzyk“

“No food here, but plenty of cold beer at great prices. The Top Patio is cool as are the various levels of the building. Cool outdoor Mainfloor Patio as well. Jay the Mercenary, Fu Manchu, Metal Jay, Phil the Electric Trip, and the Necromancer DJ were and perhaps still are solid staples of this fine establishment. Notable guests include the Red Witch, the Shaman, the Ranger, Mike of Whyte, Brad the Barbarian, and the Zombie Master. Lots of good music as well. I would recommend this pub.“

“We tried a new restaurant last night and it was fantastic! I love Ethiopian food, and wanted to try a place I hadn’t been to before. First thing to note is that the word “Bete” is not the french word “bête,” meaning “beast” (as in animal). It is an Amharic word meaning house, similar to “Beth” in Hebrew and “bayt” in Arabic, as I was told. All this just to clarify that the restaurant’s name is more closely translated as “Africa House,” not “African Beast,” which I ignorantly thought prior to learning this from the owners. We told the host that it was our first time there and that we were willing and eager to learn from him and try new things. He was very helpful and guided us though the menu. Before making a decision, we noticed that some other guests were eating fresh banana with their injera (the ubiquitous crêpe-like sourdough bread served with virtually all dishes), which piqued our interest, Lindsay in particular. When we asked which dishes came with banana, he laughed and told us that they don’t serve bananas, and it’s a common way of eating injera for Somalians, and that those guys arrived with their own banana. Apparently this is a BYOB restaurant. So, with no bananas to be had for us, we decided that the $99 mixed plate was the way to go. As you can see, there is a wide variety of food in this dish. In the middle, ground beef topped with their homemade cheese (similar in texture to feta, not as strong in taste, yet oh so fresh). At first, I was convinced there was mint in this, then I realized it was rosemary. It made it very refreshing. Bottom left is a perfectly spicy lamb tibs in the most delicious red sauce. Next to that is a mild lamb tibs that was juicy and yummy, with a couple jalapeño accents just for fun. To the right was a fried beef strip dish with onions called cha-cha tibs. Up top, a variety of lentil and chickpea mashes, plus pickled beets and cabbage. We ate like the locals, with our hands, using small torn off pieces of injera as temporary, edible utensils, and were endlessly satisfied as we worked our way around the platter. The only problem was, we just couldn’t finish it, so we ended up with a takeaway box of a couple pounds of leftovers (aw, shucks). We had a wonderful conversation with the husband and wife team, who shared so much about their culture, including the beautiful artwork and artifacts throughout the space. We even got to meet their baby, who, I am proud to say, reached out for me to hold her. She was adorable! We also learned that the wife occasionally offers cooking courses. Would you be surprised to learn that my name is on the waiting list? One can’t help but salivate I’m thinking about such a culinary experience. I wish I had discovered it sooner, despite having driven past it countless times (it’s on 111 Avenue across from Tony’s pizza). To be honest, it’s not the classiest part of town (I reported a needle to 311 on our way out), so if you’re leery of that sort of thing, now is the time to get over it and see what rewards await you when you step outside your social and gastronomical comfort zones. Just be sure to invite me along when you do.“

We had very tasty Shrimps as Appetizer.
As Main we had a Striploin Steak and the Salmon.
Best menu, we had in Canada. We had the luck to get an excellent service from the GM Mr. Ilhan Bayar.

“We had our Wedding Anniversary dinner on Sat, May 2, and it was a fantastic evening. It was slightly less full but blame that on the Oilers losing so being located on the second floor of the Casino in the Eogers Place Arena!
Our table was ready, and our server was Yanna(sp?) who was newer I believe but was extremely sweet and fun!
The small things excelled in our opinion - we started with oysters and i feel the best i have had in a long time. The sauce and also the mignonette were outstanding. My steak was perfect - i will argue anywhere the New York cut is the king.
They brought out what i first thought was a cigar box? But it was a box they presented so i could choose my own steak knife like a row of swords - loved that!
Must order side is the mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce. WOW. We also had a side of the Mac n cheese but honestly both had similar cheeses and the strength of the mushrooms won - still delicious Mac though but I regret not trying the Brussels sprouts so we will he back! My wife had the Bass - came out whole fish style and incredible! Perfect cook.
We were so happy to have basically every employee come there check up on us and say hello
Onenof which ended up being their Culinary Embassador from Langley up for one night only! What a treat to meet Spencer Watts and to gain insights and watch him teach. Answered all my questions....and when we were graciously offered a dessert for our anniversary, though STUFFED he ended up bringing us another to try (i watched him make them both with a crowd of chefs around!) Please DO NOT leave without trying the Chocolate Peanut Butter Marquis Bar....a perfect bite for that chocolate fix. And we also sampled the Beehive Pavlova - wow the meringue, and that passion fruit sauce. These are the perfect choices for whatever you feel on the day.
Can't thank the staff and restaurant enough for a glorious experience.
Please give this restaurant a try we will 100% be back.“

“My husband and I were looking to have a nice dinner together whilst trying to kill time waiting on family. We had finished our meal and were just having coffee (a standard with us post dinner) and we were approached by the manager asking us if we could accommodate a table that was reserved up top where we were, and he would relocate us to another spot. We had absolutely no issues with that, especially since we were killing time. They moved everything for us and luckily the same waitress even came by in not even her section, just to check on us; which as a past serve I know can be hard but it was acknowledged and appreciated. And on top it all they discounted our bill, which was absolutely unnecessary but GREATLY appreciated. 10/10 will be back to this location, just due to the service alone. Highly recommended. Thank you Keg West Edmonton“

“One of my all-time favourite restaurants — Atlas Steak + Fish never misses. Every visit feels genuinely welcoming and refreshingly down to earth, which is rare for a place this stunning. The dim lighting paired with the beautiful interior design creates an atmosphere that checks every single box.
And then there's the pianist — playing with such a special, soulful touch that it wraps the whole experience in something almost cinematic. It's the kind of live music that doesn't just fill the background, it elevates the entire room.
The staff, as always, were absolutely wonderful — attentive without being overbearing. And the food? Succulent is an understatement. The Switzerland pomegranate lamb is a standout that genuinely makes you feel like that critic in Ratatouille — the one in all black having a transcendent moment with a single bite. That dish alone is worth the visit.
If you haven't been, go. If you have, you already know.“

“We had such an amazing experience at Alchemy Bar, and Taylor absolutely made the night, especially since it was my birthday! From the start, she was so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She gave great recommendations and made sure everything was perfect the whole time.
The highlight was when she surprised me by lighting a sparkler for my birthday. It was such a small but thoughtful touch that made the night feel extra special. You can tell she really cares about her guests and goes above and beyond.
Taylor’s energy, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for her!“

“The Blues on Whyte or the Commercial Hotel (the Commy) is known by locals as 'the happiest place in Edmonton' particularly every Saturday afternoon from 3-8 pm for the best rythym and blues anywhere. Hosted by Gary Martin and Joe Piccolo its a guaranteed good time. One thing to note - the 'jam' attracts an older crowd on Saturdays. But the dance floor is always active.“

“What makes Zembaba 2 truly special is the way it brings people together. Families gather around generous platters, friends reconnect over fragrant coffee, and newcomers are welcomed like long-lost relatives. The staff serve with genuine warmth—hospitality that doesn’t feel rehearsed but heartfelt, as though each guest is an honored visitor. Their kindness pairs beautifully with the food: tender meats marinated with care, vegetables cooked to perfection, and spices blended in the way only experience and love can create.
The dishes at Zembaba 2 celebrate the deep heritage of Somali and Ethiopian cuisines—flavors shaped by tradition, carried across generations, and shared with pride. Whether it’s the comforting taste of injera, the bold richness of suqaar, or the soothing warmth of a perfectly brewed cup of Somali or Ethiopian tea, every bite carries the unmistakable feeling of home, even for those discovering these cuisines for the first time.
Eating here feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into someone’s family. Zembaba 2 is a place where memories are made, stories are shared, and cultures are celebrated with every meal. It’s a restaurant with a heart—one that invites you to sit down, slow down, and savor not only the food but the sense of belonging that comes with it.“

“I had the chance to attend a karaoke fundraiser last night at The Duck Taphouse & Grill and, it’s one of those places you just want to see win.I got to chat with the owner, Alex, and you can tell right away he’s all about community. From supporting organizations like Hope Mission to opening his space for fundraising events, he’s creating more than just a pub, he’s building a place people can come together. Tucked right behind NAIT, this spot has a relaxed, welcoming vibe with a small stage that’s perfect for karaoke nights, fundraisers, or even networking events. And let’s talk about the experience: The drinks are reasonably priced, the food is genuinely good, and the atmosphere makes it easy to stay longer than planned. If you’re looking for a venue for a third-party fundraiser, a casual networking night, or just a great local place to support, this is it. Let’s keep showing up for the businesses that show up for our community.“
