“Initially when hearing under new management I was worried. However, the wing sauce was incredibly delicious. The Cajun ranch okra was cooked with perfection. The food was hot, quick, and scrumptious! The atmosphere was clean and enjoyable. The service was phenomenal! I was greeted when entering. I was told of promotional deals. “I have been gatekeeping this place for years. Their wings are the absolute right size and cooked perfectly if you ask them to fry them hard. It is the pure definition of a hole in the wall. Their prices went up but not as expensive as other spots. Lemon or Garlic Pepper is my goto because their sauces are not good to me. It is super ghetto outside with geek monsters standing around lol. The wings are fire tho. I just wanted to give a quick shout out.“

“A hidden gem with delicious food. I had the cajun ranch fries and the catfish combo. It was fantastic. Smaller location, but spectacular food. There was a huge variety of things to eat, I had a hankering for catfish when I found this place. Crispy on the outside with a crumb batter and soft and juicy on the inside it was spot on. The fries where also cooked perfectly for the ranch coating and not getting soggy. Since I had both, I got to enjoy nice crispy fries with my combo and the coated fries. It would be hard to say which one was better. They were awesome as well. Great job. They were busy, so I was curious how it would turn out. Perfectly was the answer I found.“

“Honestly, the best place to get food at UAB. If you think the lunch rush is too much at HSC, just walk a little out of your way and you'll beat the rush, even at peak hours. The only downside is that there's no Wi-Fi here.

Food's great, though. Line's short. Service is good. I'd take WOW's Chicken Tenders combo over The Den anyday.

EDIT: Editing my review 5 years later to say that this is definitely NOT the best place to get food at UAB anymore. I hear you guys have a Moe's in your dorms? WHAT THE HECK??“

I've been a customer since their first restaurant and recently moved back to the area and it's just as good as always. “Great food! Great Atmosphere! The staff is attentive and ready. The establishment is reasonably sized beautifully decorated has free onsite parking. The drinks were good and the wings were tasty. We will definitely stop by again when we're in Birmingham.

“I’m still newish to Birmingham and just now trying Guthrie’s. I went shortly after they opened at 11. Their menu is limited but sometimes simple is best. Too many options can feel overwhelming.

I was greeted by Tierra. When I told her that it was my first time trying Guthrie’s, she smiled and confidently said “you’ll be back!”

When I tried my food once I got home… I can tell you that she is correct. It was still hot, very fresh and oh my word was it tasty! I got some of the Guthrie’s original sauce as well as some bbq sauce. It was ALL delicious“

“I ordered delivery via the app. The price was more than I wanted to pay but it was more than worth it. The delivery driver was so sweet. I watched her deliver via my camera to my mother. She is one of few that actually ring the bell and give the order to us. They sent plates and cups with the order. The food is delicious. It was a quick order and speedy delivery. I 10/10 recommend them.“
