“This place is cool! It’s set up like a men’s club but it’s not one. Here are my notes

Onyx. 11pm arrival. Only Latino here but nobody cared. Friday. $20 cover. Street parking available. Good crowd and energy. Smoking allowed inside but good ventilation. Music at a tolerable level. You can sit anywhere until someone gets a bottle and wants your spot. Employees are super chill. I would be curious to see this place in the summer with the very clean outdoor pool.

Everyone was friendly and there were some serious cuties here. Nobody in dancer attire. Just people drinking and some girls dancing in street clothes. I’m sure things might change as the night goes on.

“Perfect spot! My niece invited my sister and I out for her 40th birthday party. The lounge was so laid back. Good lighting, parking, and seating. Everything's set up so nice, including the bar, along with great bartenders as well. Great space for a nice party, meeting, reception, etc.“

This place is a very welcoming environment, the manager was nice enough to accommodate our party even though we were late which we really appreciated, bartender service was efficient, mixed crowd and lgbtq+ friendly. I will definitely be visiting Paper Dolls regularly!“

Prices are very high. Be ready to pay $15/ small serving of drink per person. Pricing and service need improvement, but hopefully with time things get better.“

The crowd was very laid back the perfect spot for hard working people to relax after a long day /week’ The DJ went from the good 90s to present! The drinks were top tier! “It’s a neat concept but I think the staff may still be working out some operational issues that’s not their fault. We went during a busy time and it came across a bit chaotic.

The staff was friendly trying to navigate the crowd, but the music was very loud (not chill and relaxing as expected) the tables are super close together and you have to order at the counter then try to find a seat, and then they wait on you at the table anyways. I understand it’s supposed to be a lounge but it’s really coming off as more of a busy restaurant but that could just be the new buzz of it. We’ll give it another go hopefully when it’s less crowded.

The food was excellent and we enjoyed our cappuccinos, they’re traditional cappuccinos which we appreciate. It’s very pretty inside and has a nice outdoor patio. I do recommend giving it a shot but try to lookout for less busy times. We want to come back for the live music as well. I definitely see the vision and appreciate the space in bham!“

“What an unexpected experience..... super cool bar themed and very enjoyable cocktails. Staff was super friendly including the owner who was working the door. Highly recommend checking out if your looking for something beyond just drinks and music.“

“We went to Magnolia Point for the first time last night and are so glad we did. The food was delicious, service fast and attentive and the prices very reasonable. It’s a great place to take kids because it’s got lots of food they would like (fish tocos, hamburgers, etc) and not too fancy. There’s also a great outdoor patio that we cant wait to try. “Lee’s is a fantastic addition to the downtown coffee scene! Their menu offers a variety of options, but the classics are good too. I like that you can customize a latte with tons of flavor and add on options. their secret menu is worth checking out too! This will be added to my regular list of places to go and get some work done because they have plenty of space and are open late which I really appreciate!“

“We visited this renovated food hall on our way out of Birmingham. The space itself is really cool and features some great food options. I had the poke and a bubble tea, which were both delicious. There is seating inside the hall and in the attractive patio space outside. Fun spot for a quick lunch!“

He and his staff take pride in providing the best experience possible and serving the best sushi in town. That type of responsiveness is a hallmark of good business and definitely made me want to return! AND they have a happy hour and UAB employees get a discount. “I was in town for a wedding this weekend and stayed at The Kelly. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very spacious for being in a historic building. The price was fantastic for such a nice hotel in a good location. The staff is unbelievably friendly and welcoming. I didn't get the names of the front desk workers but they were absolutely terrific! The valets are some of the best I've ever encountered. Eric, Tory and Thomas went out of their way to be helpful every single time. One evening I accidentally left a bag in the car and Thomas volunteered to go all the way back to the parking garage to get it for me. From now on, when I am in Birmingham I won't be staying anywhere else but The Kelly. I suggest you do too!“
