“We love Marty’s GM SO much! We moved away from the area years ago but still try to plan our trips to Birmingham around a trip to Marty’s! We always get the Chicken Bacon Ranch Egg Rolls, Goat Popper Burger, and French Fries. And then depending on what they have in the frozen machine, a frozen margarita or a bushwacker. Everything is always perfectly cooked and delicious! Honestly , it’s wild how consistent the food has been over the years. Absolutely fantastic every time we go.“

“Family and I had some time to to explore Birmingham before our flight home so we drove aimlessly around and first stumbled across Gatos & Beans (I did a complete review on that wonderful location). Emily recommended Joyland for a bite to eat as her establishment mainly served coffee and snacks.

Oh my GOSH, what a positive, upbeat, and tasty experience.

Joyland primarily serves Breakfast, Burgers, Hotdogs, drinks (they also have an impressively stocked bar,) and desserts.

The atmosphere is upbeat, friendly and inclusive. It gives off more of an eatery vibe than bar.

The menu has Gluten Free, and Vegetarian options. (I didn’t ask about vegan, sorry). Their crinkle cut fries are GF, crispy, and tasty.

The Cashier/server who helped us was Garret, Jake the General Manager also helped keep our order super fast and smooth.

When I again visit Birmingham, Joyland is already on my list of things to do.

“The absolute best!! We love Mr. West’s, can’t count how many times we’ve been since they opened! The food is always fresh and delicious, and comes so quickly! We have tried just about everything on the menu, and I’d recommend it all. My personal favorites are the shrimp tempura rice bowl, the spicy garlic noodles, the nachos, and the dumplings. You truly can’t go wrong!“

“I love coming to Slutty Vegan. I used to go to the ones in Atlanta (Ralph David and Edgewood), but I've moved to Alabama about 10 months ago. I loved when I realised that they had a shop here in Birmingham.

Their slutty fries is amazing with the spicy agave mustard or hunny mustard. 9/10

Can't go wrong with the fussy hussy if you're looking for the normal toppings that come on a burger. 8/10

When I get a burger from here, though, I like the one night stand because I like the v. bacon. 9/10

The boujee heaux is their fried cauliflower wings. I've only ever tried the 10pc garlic parm w. fries, but it's amazing. 9/10

I've had the banana pudding before. I don't get it anymore, but it's still delicious. I like my banana pudding a little more solidified, whether it is the breading/crumbles, or actual bananas. This does mimic a legitimate pudding though. 9/10

The hollywood hooker is a good v. philly. I don't normally eat philly cheesesteaks that often, so it's almost a bit much for me due to the amount of stuff in it, but I can still appreciate the flavour profiles, the necessary toppings to make it a philly, and the ability for Slutty Vegan to make a tasty version of the classic sandwich. 9/10

I've only had the project chik one time, and that was when it first came out. At that time, it was a limited time item. I didn't like this sandwich as much, but that's because it wasn't saucy. I think they've added ranch or mayo, but it wasn't enough, so you can simply get extra ranch/mayo. 6.5/10

The sweet potato pie is delicious. 10/10

The hooker fries are delicious. Arguably the best item on the menu for me. If there's any legitimate critique I have of Slutty Vegan, it's that the buns get soggy really quickly from the burger, so it can feel like eating the toppings and patty with a mushy bun sometimes. So, I mostly get the hooker fries when I visit because there is no bun to worry about, and it gives me the same toppings as the philly cheesesteak, except I don't have to worry about being overwhelmed with everything that's inside of the hoagie and trying to keep everything pieced together. The hooker fries IS the hollywood hooker, just with fries instead of a hoagie. It's pretty much loaded fries, but it has to be some of the best loaded fries I've had. 11/10

I do miss the big dawg though. I love bratwurst, so SV's spin on this was amazing. Add this back to the menu and I'd be back probably two to three times a week continuously.“

“We went to Magnolia Point for the first time last night and are so glad we did. The food was delicious, service fast and attentive and the prices very reasonable. It’s a great place to take kids because it’s got lots of food they would like (fish tocos, hamburgers, etc) and not too fancy. There’s also a great outdoor patio that we cant wait to try. “Hero Doughnuts is a cool spot right across from Railroad Park. I stopped in yesterday for a few doughnuts and they were absolutely delicious—the blueberry doughnut was one of the best I’ve ever had.

The service was a little slow, but the taste more than made up for it. I grabbed a couple and took them across the street to enjoy in the park—perfect balance of sweets and relaxation. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!“

“I enjoyed my burger there both times I visited. A hot, double patty with fresh, chilled fixings. Good tea as well. It's right around the corner from the North Pavillion of UAB.

I'd recommend ya stop in if you're around there. Spent $14 for the meal, and it was worth it.“

“It's in the middle of the city basically and, they do give military discounts so I got 15% off military discount babe I mean the food's not to die for but the food is good, it's better than you can make it home, but it's expensive. I was so disappointed in the service today, though, that I feel compelled to write this in hope that the manager at the Fultondale location will see it. I went in to place an order, but noticed one employee was cooking food and there was no one at the register. As I walked to the register, I passed two employees seated at one table and another employee seated at a separate table. I stood at the register waiting, but no employee approached. The cook, who was quite busy, saw me and called to someone, but still no one came. One employee at a table rose and walked to the back of the room, so I thought she had gone back to go behind the counter, but she came back to her table having just gone to refill her cup. We made eye contact, so she knew I was waiting. But neither she nor the other two employees made any attempt to assist me. After another six minutes, with no acknowledgment at all from the three seated employees,I left. I won’t give up on Five Guys after one bad experience, but I hope the manager will see this write-up and use it as a teaching moment for today’s staff.“

“The young black lady working behind the counter is one of the nicest people ive met. Terrific chicken in fact all the employees were great especially two yoing men offered for a bag even when i had leftovers headed out. Extremely impressed.“

The ladies working there were SO sweet and nice, the food was as great as I remembered. This brings back great memories.
I got the loaded dog, it was too big for me to eat for lunch, a really fat sausage with special sauce, meat sauce, fries, jalapeños and cheese sauce with a side of fries and a drink.
It was messy but oh so tasty! Even though it is about 8 miles away I will definitely be coming back, not just for the food but the service as well.

“Bought a hot dog..it grew legs and arms and attacked me with great speed..it opened its mouth revealing 52,652 sharp teeth and took a bite out of me like I was the hot dog all other customers sat there and watched it happen… cops show up and try to pry it off me but nothing worked.. forever traumatized.
