“We did not know what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised the food was great, the price was great and the wait staff was extremely helpful and polite, we will definitely eat here again, and would recommend, the only suggestion I will say is that coffee would be a nice addition to the menu.“

“City Cafe has been our favorite little place for over 30 yrs. This cafe is an absolute gem! Sweet tea and dumplings are excellent! Breakfast and lunch here is incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends. “Urban Cookhouse has a simple easy to order menu. It was packed last time I had lunch. Turnover is pretty fast so finding a seat is not difficult. Outdoor patio will be more conducive as fall comes and the heat reduces. Great staff - very helpful. Healthy menu!

Parking: There are spaces all around the building so don't worry if you cannot find a parking space right in front of the doors. You may have to walk 40 yards at the most.

Kid-friendliness: Menu kids will eat from with healthy choices.

“Our experience is always amazing here but this time was better than them all. From the host to our server, Quinn, the service was exceptional. I wish I could make them rich! I had the bacon burger and my bun was toasted perfectly, my patty was cooked the exact temperature, and the fries are always nice and crispy. Thank you, Quinn!!“

“The food was modestly priced, which I appreciated, but the skin on the plantation sausage was really hard. Also, the place had a faint smell of mildew.

The waiter was great and super friendly. We were thankful that there was a place open so early! I teach school, so it's hard for me and my fiance to find somewhere to sit down and eat in the morning before work. I will be going back.“

“As a Louisiana native, born and raised I am very happy to say TJ’s crawfish were perfect. I would drive home (Louisiana) every weekend just to get crawfish. I am so glad I gave them a try & I no longer have to go back home just for crawfish. The crawfish were big in size and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp po boy was everything my sister and I were looking for in flavor. Customer service was top tier.. we will be back!“

“I reserved a room for my daughter and her friend through the storm. Capstone made me feel that my daughter was safe. They had a plan and when she needed assistance they were very helpful. As a mother who is 15 hours away, I was grateful to the Capstone Hotel!“

This day we had the parmesan chicken on penne pasta with marinara, and the serving size was monstrous - we took more than half home with us. One other factor was this location has my wife's favorite salad dressing: peppercorn ranch that is locally made.“

“I never write reviews, but the service and server was horrible. To forgetting things we asked for when taking our orders, to getting rude when asking for the things we asked for when we ordered our food. Brought our checks out , and then said she had to add gratuity, even tho one of my friends had already paid her ticket. She voided it out, and gave her the new ticket. Charged me gratuity on the 2 To-Go orders I had on my ticket. Thank goodness the manger split the Check up. The server was literally talking over my friend that was with us that was explaining the problems we were experiencing, and the manager finally told her to leave the conversation. We love the Gardendale location, we always go there with my daughter's whole ball team, and never once were we charged gratuity, and the service and food have always been excellent. The manager said, it was from corporate is the reason for mandatory gratuity for people 6 and over. Totally not true!!! Would NOT recommend the Tuscaloosa Mugshots!!!“

“I had breakfast for dinner. Now,I know so many think they're too upscale to go here, but those folks are missing out. When I walked in, it was VERY busy, the cook properly wearing a "Rock Star Cook" shirt. He looked really young, but DANG!!! He was slinging with the best of them! There was a crew of 4 and they were hopping the whole time! Either actively serving, cleaning, or organizing. Even for the couple of minutes when they weren't, they were looking for something to do! Oh, and the food was done to perfection. It only seems like you can't screw up breakfast until you've had floppy bacon, crispy eggs, and white or charred hashbrowns. And a heckuva LOT cheaper than fast food!
Do yourself a solid and try this place out. Or...go someplace and pay $20 plus tip...or go to fast food and pay $35 for the same amount of food.“

“I come here almost everyday to eat breakfast and chill by myself. The tons of tables and chairs, serving areas, and nice bathrooms are always clean. The staff and servers are always polite and nice. The only complaint I could make is that I wish there was more of a variety for breakfast, like more different kinds of fruit like strawberries or kiwi, and more variety of breakfast food like croissant sandwiches and hashbrowns. Other than that, this place is a 10/10 for me and I think it's better than Fresh Food Company!“

“My FAVVVV go-to BAR in Tuscaloosa on Game Day!! Thank God we got there before they started charging cover because it was $40 per person when playing Texas ? Which is absolutely absurd. We couldn't even go upstairs for free after eating downstairs and getting there early.. But whatever. Still my favorite bar. They have the best fries and can't go wrong with traditional chicken fingers! Will always visit when in T-Town! And we also had the cutest bartender, Sarah? I think lol ?“

“A friend of mine asked me to go to Waffle House this morning at 4:30 am. We were both awake, and he asked if I was hungry. I haven't been to a Waffle House for over two years. I ordered the All-Star special for both of us. Two Scrambled Eggs with Toast & Jelly; choice of Grits, Hashbrowns or Sliced Tomatoes; a Waffle and your choice of Bacon, Sausage or City Ham. I ordered hash browns and the sausage. He wanted grits and sausage. The waffle was really good. The entire meal was great. I had to carry it to go. They do a nice job of packing plastic ware, butter, and syrup inside the bag with the food. I should have asked for jelly, salt, and pepper.“
