Restaurantji's Fairhope picks for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“The food is always delicious with lots of options. Service is good even though they are usually very busy. Great atmosphere.Vegetarian options: They have a very good vegetarian selection. I recently had their bean nachos which was delicious. The vegetarian fajitas is really good as well.“
“El Mexicano in Fairhope is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The fantastic food they serve is an explosion of flavors that takes your taste buds on a journey through Mexico. The service is top-notch; the staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. And let's not forget about the margaritas – they are absolutely amazing! Sipping on one of their margaritas just adds the perfect touch to an already fantastic dining experience. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, great service, and an inviting atmosphere, El Mexicano in Fairhope is the place to be. I highly recommend it, and I can't wait to return for another delicious meal and those incredible margaritas“
“Pretty damn good carnitas and al pastor tacos. Speaking as a guy from Los Angeles who grew up on Mexican food. No stews or things like you would find in LA,but here in lower Alabama, this is a find. I especially liked the authentic retried beans...seriously good. Will be “
“This place was recommended to me from a friend so I decided to give them a try. Delicious food! A little pricey for lunch. Service was good. The table felt small so keep this in mind if going with a group. It may be hard to find parking depending on when you go. All in all, would definitely recommend. The food was really good!“
“Las Catrinas De Rosy has the best tacos around! This hidden gem inside the Shell station off 181 does not disappoint. The quesabarilla tacos are fire! The quesabarilla ramen is sooo good. If you want some good food then stop by here and get some their tacos. They have a variety and they are all very good. The service was quick and the food came out within 5 minutes. Don't pass this place up, you'll regret you did.“
“My husband picked up an order for us to eat at home. He said they were very friendly. We ordered pastor tacos, chicken quesadilla, Street corn, queso and the Burrias. All were so good. Tacos were good (I found the meat kind of dry), burrias were excellent, queso was very good and not too thin. Perfect. I think the cheese quesadilla could have been thicker with more cheese. What I really loved though was their street corn. It comes in a cup with the corn cut off instead of on the kernel. It's whole different experience this way. They added so much more cheese than what I ideally get on the stick. The only thing I would want is cilantro added to it. Because I love me some cilantro. Overall some really good food.“
“Food and service are amazing, just make sure to get there 11-2pm to not miss out on their delicious lunch. Their carne Asada falls apart on every bite and the pastor is just the right amount of flavor without being overbearing. 5/5 authentic Mexican food with tasty chips and salsa. And not to mention amazing flour and corn tortillas. Would recommend to any taco aficionado and the ladies were super nice and welcoming.“
“The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. We went after my grandson's black belt promotion and had the best time. My daughter and son and I had a watermelon margarita, and it was perfect. The cheese stuffed chile relleno was the best I've ever eaten. Everybody got something different and really enjoyed their food and themselves. The ONLY recommendation is that while I could get a cheese, a chicken, and a beef enchilada on the same plate, my son was not allowed to mix and match his three street tacos. They all had to be the same meat. Go figure??? Anyway, that did not detract from our fun and enjoyment. I highly recommend going there if you're in the mood for a relaxing and enjoyable time. It was packed, but there was no waiting for a table.¡Este restaurante es fantástico!“
“Love our local Taco Mama's! Always a joy to frequent. Staff is always welcoming, and friendly.I echo the sentiment that the nachos are amazing, yet, it is the Fat Boy Burrito that has become my go-to! In it itself is a meal and then some.I suggest this location for everything to just hanging out enjoying the company of friends, to a take-out order at lunch time.Great place. Great people. Great food.Well done!“
“Everything was great, from the friendliness of the staff to the cleanliness of the restaurant to the quality of the food. This location is far better in all facets than the one in Spanish fort. I will go out of my way to come here over the other one. Keep up the great work!“
“My family really enjoys this place. I always order the guacamole, it's fresh and delicious. There's an own my husband enjoys called Mocajete, he highly recommends that for the hungry hard worker after a long day. My children enjoy the tacos.“
“The food was different but good. Unlike most places they had a wide variety of unique food choices. Just because the food was unique does not mean it was bad by any means. We tried many of the appetizers and a bunch of the drinks and everything was absolutely amazing.Vegetarian options: They labeled the menu well on what was vegetarian and there were plenty of options. If they didn’t have something, they made sure to tell us before bringing us something we didn’t want.“
